Hi guys. I'm brazilian and i've updated my RAZRi (with the ROM of TIM carrier) for the 4.1.2 Android version via OTA. But, the battery consumption is very high. This could be related to the carrier's ROM? Can i install a RETAIL ROM on my phone running 982.50.23005.XT980.TIM.en.BR?
Try a factory reset and disable google now

Hey man, I came from TIM ROM into RETAIL and never saw much difference related to battery consumption. As long as you got your bootloader unlocked, you can always change ROMs, let me know if you need help on it!

The bootloader does not have to be unlock to use RSD and flash XML files with it but do not flash older version than your system is currently on.

Go into general discussion in RAZR I and then there's a thread called tools for noobs then there's a pc app to flash the ROMs and a link to a load of stock ROMs try that ... I can't link you because I'm new and xda stops you -_-

So im gonna do a traduction for everybody.
He had a stock rom branded for Personal Argentina, then he changed to the retail brazilian firmware.
He claims that after doing that, his IMEI changed, leaving him without signal.

Samsung is complete different story. You need backup efs folder because flahing can brick Your imei. Motorola doesnt work like that. I dont believe the firmware has changed IMEI. No chance in my opinion.
I think he may have baseband bricked. Best way is rsd and genuine firmware.

Got the very same problem yesterday.
After upgrading my RAZR I from stock 4.0.4 to 4.1.2 IMEI was changed from 35<something> to 004999010640000, which is exactly the same IMEI number topic starter has in his phone. And I have the very same problem with radio module - phone can not connect to GSM networks.
Phone originated from UK, was not rooted/unlocked and built-in over-the-air update was used.
Update: Resolved by re-flashing radio partition.
For some reasons latest 4.1.2 firmware distribution for my XT890 (Retail GB, 91.2.29001, CFC_9.8.2I-50_SMI-29_S7_USASMIJBRTGB.xml.zip) does not contain "radio_signed" part, so re-flashing latest firmware can not help with restoring IMEI.
I've used "radio_signed" file from 4.0.4 intermediate firmware update (81.5.39001, CFC_8.7.1I-110_IFW-39_S7_UCASMI01E1017.0R_USASMIICSRTGB_P042_A005_S1FF_fb.xml.zip).
After I've got a valid "radio_signed" file all that it took to repair my XT890 was a single command "fastboot flash radio radio_signed".
After flashing and rebooting IMEI number was restored to original 35<something> and I was able to connect to GSM network.
Boot loader is still locked and phone is not rooted, so this fix will not harm your warranty, if you still have any.

Yes, if you get the stock images for your carrier with your current android version you can flash. JUST DO NOT DOWNGRADE Android versions as mentioned above.

i was literally going to sell my g-flex today, i took a chance and got it yesterday but realized it was running. 4.2.2 and i couldnt upgrade it because i have the d956 brazilian model. was gonna sell it back because i really didnt want to be stuck on JB. thanks to this post tho i have kitkat and can rest easy lol. i wont root or anything until a lolipop rom surfaces thats stable. really love this phone its underrated. im coming from a galaxy s5 and the screen really is no where as bad as people are making it out to be, it has the same sharpness of the note 2 and its fine with me. beautiful curved and fast device. really love it! a guy asked me yesterday if i had sit on it and bent it lol, when i told him nah it was designed that way he was intrigued , then i told him about the self healing back... i dont like like the g flex two tho because its too small and the curve isnt pronounced. they should have kept it at 6inches(the screen). im very happy with this and thanks for this post once again.

You will need an active at&t Sim for OTA updates. If you are on T-Mobile, your only option is to use LG Flash tools to upgrade to KK.
simple steps for upgrade from JB
1) download KK tot file from storagecow.EU,
2) download LG Flashtools and the DLL file from the same site
3) for a step by step guide, go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42012157
I can confirm that the process works, I did it myself on my d950 and now I have KK 20b

Yes, when you use lg flash tool you will loose root, but towelroot works on KK also, so you can root again.
There is no serial required if you use megalock.dll.. I think you can find it on the gsmhosting website.. Google it

I believe you can simply unlock the bootloader on the Motorola web site now.

If you got the unlock code from Motorola you don't need kingroot. You must be missing something. There was a setting in developer options to allow unlocking the bootloader. Try setting that on.
Thats the problem, first i try the kingroot app and then someting crash and corrupt my filesystem, so now i cant reach any settings(developer option) because i dont have any working interface. My problem is not rooting, my problem is a semi death cellphone. I need to put again marshmallow orden lollipop for having a working cellphone. Maybe gong to motocare is an option?
