The problem is the locked bootloader leaving us Droid 3 users with a dated kernel. I was really hoping Google would fix this mismanaged company when they bought it, but so far its still the same old Motorola.

it'll take time of courset to get everything going good. they have to first plan everything they are going to do. I'm not sure if most phones will even be dealt with as far as locked bootloaders... they'll say buy this new phone

I doubt they will unlock current phones but I think we may see more unlocked bootloaders in the future

The hardware differences (besides the RAM) include LTE radio in the Bionic, which is different from the (Verizon) D3's CDMA and GSM radios, as well as no hardware keyboard in the Bionic (so a driver may have to be developed from the Bionic.)
However, the big issue is that the Bionic's ICS build will likely have a new Linux kernel that the ICS update will require, and that is one thing that the locked bootloader on the Droid 3 will not allow to be flashed.
I hope that Google Translate does this well...

Hey man, I came from TIM ROM into RETAIL and never saw much difference related to battery consumption. As long as you got your bootloader unlocked, you can always change ROMs, let me know if you need help on it!

The bootloader does not have to be unlock to use RSD and flash XML files with it but do not flash older version than your system is currently on.

não tente usar o RSD para voltar para a versão 4.0.4, caso faça isso aparecerá a seguinte mensagem: service required code corrupt. Aconteceu isso comigo a unica solução foi mandar para a assistência.demorou cerca de 20 dias, e como estava na garantia não paguei nada. continue com o 4.1.2. A não ser que realmente queira fazer isso.
Go into general discussion in RAZR I and then there's a thread called tools for noobs then there's a pc app to flash the ROMs and a link to a load of stock ROMs try that ... I can't link you because I'm new and xda stops you -_-

I've recieved my HTC One for a day and generally this is a great phone. I have spent some times go through other people tips about TV apps/HDR mode in Camera but I couldnt find them at all!
My software version is 1.36.599.1

I think they hide them in someway. How can I bring them back?

Yes, I checked that. Only has Normal/Portrait/Landscape/Backlight/Text/Macro in Scene. However, I see Video HDR in Video Capture Mode(Not Photo Capture Mode)

Mine was like that too.
What is interesting is not only that the software version is wrong, but also that the CID seems to be a new one. It is HTC__332 and it is not present in any of the RUU lists I've seen so far.
Also, even though the model ID is supposed to be from Asia/Taiwan (PN0711000), my phone was bought unlocked in Latin America. I've also been contacted by two other users from Chile and Peru that claim to have the same software version and CID. Maybe we're seing a new version here, but I just don't understand why it is numbered so different to the "regular" ones (1.36.599.1).
I was thinking that this was a new version sold unlocked to Latin America, but the phone from the guy in Peru is locked, plus you mentioned elsewhere that yours came from Europe. So I don't really know how to tie all this information.
Apart from sw version and CID, all of our phones (yours, mine and the two other I mentioned) came without the TV app and the HDR mode in the camera. My way around it was to install another ROM based on Sense 5.0. I'm new to android (iPhone users for 3.5 years) so it wasn't that easy. But after a few our studying and watching youtube videos I got it. Now I have HDR and the TV app.

I just realized that even though yours was brought from Europe, it might be the same as mine. Look at the bottom of the box. Mine says "HTC One is a trademark in Mexico" in spanish (attached). In mine, Mexico is the only country mentioned, so that is probably where it comes from. I'm guessing yours also only says Mexico and no other country.
I'm starting to lean into thinking our sw version and CID are acually limited to version sold (officially, at least) in Latin America.

Well, sort of, actually. As I said I'm new to android, so I was afraid of installing a new stock ROM since none of them matches my software number of CID. So yesterday I installed Android Revolution HD (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183023&highlight=dashclock), which is pretty much like stock Sense 5, only with a few updates from Android 4.2.2. It looks almost exactly like what I had before, it is working quite nicely, plus I got the TV app back.
I have to say, controlling my TV+cable box with my phone is awesome.

I had one, but it wasn't related to the ROM installation per se. The installation went completely smooth.
My problem was related to Google Talk. After the ROM installation ended, I tried restoring a backup made of all my apps with Titanium backup. But apparently the GTalk apk is not compatible with 4.2.2, so long story short, just upgrade direcly to Google Hangout and you should have no issues.

The video here suggests to use correct recovery file for the phone (AT&T, Global version, things like that). Do we need to worry about that since we have different ROM version...?
Also, Our CID is HTC__332 and main-version is 1.36.599.1. Can we install another ship ROM (let's say OTA_M7_UL_JB_50_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.29.707.16_R-1.29.707.3_R_release_318610_signedkaytj0xrerk0cnd9 .zip) on our device? Sorry, I just want to make sure that I wont break anything... Here is the list of ship ROMs

About the recovery, I used ClockworkMod Touch (CWMT). I don't think the version on CWMT is tied to model.
About the ROM you mentioned, that is what I don't know if we can do, so instead I used Android Revolution HD which was garanteed to work on our version.

My phone has the same information as in the image given below. Somehow i don't have the tv app listed in the app drawer. Is there any way of getting the htc tv app without rooting or flashing custom ROM coz i want to use it in its pure form for the time being..
And secondly are we going to get an OTA update of 4.2.2 or are we stuck at 4.1.2???

I'm waiting for the update, I don't recommend the S-Off and CID change, I killed my One S with this. I installed the European ROM, I did the OTA and the USB function was dead...
If you search, will find one user with the HTC One bricked after flash the European RUU.

Well i live in Pakistan and this is my second HTC phone and my experience regarding OTA updates hasn't been great coz they never came. I have simply done S-off, rooted changed the CID and installed the Revolution HD 4.2.2 Rom with HTC Sence and believe you me the phone is working even better. I also didnt wanted to change things but i guess i kinda felt the update would reach here quite late so i just went through with the procedure. Now i have all the camera options plus the Originate HTC TV app installed as well... My advice to all those people who got this model with these specifications if they can wait a long time for OTA updates then don't change a thing but if you cant then just do it and enjoy the ride.....

Dear friend, with Custom ROMs, it's ok, but with other RUU, different from the origial, it's dangerous, I think...
The model M7_U CID HTC__332 (Latin America) don't have Oficcial RUU, if I going to brick, no return from stock.

Hi, you cannot install an international rom because Verizon has a blocked bootloader, you can only use the roms tha are here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s6-edge/development
Hola, no podes ponerle una rom internacional, solo las que están hechas para el 925V, Verizon bloquea el bootloader del cel. las que podes usar están en la ruta arriba indicada.
Lo que podrias hacer es desactivar u ocultar las aplicaciones de verizon que no quieras ver, para esto busca el post "debloater" del usuario gatesjunior

try a rom and remove vzw apps is best you can do lol
you can try to flash a ROM ONLY meaning no kernels or bls but i cant guarantee it wont brick lol.. definitely dont flash any kernels/BLs somehome unless theyre for Verizon specific.. if you are not rooted then its definitely not possible

i just got a Moto X 2014, the guy who did send me the phone told me than it has JTAG... i told him than i would like to root this phone and put a new rom like cyanogenmod... but he told me than it was dangeroud becouse rooting can cause some kind of conflict and i dont know if it is true or not... did somebody root a moto x with a jtag? its really dangerous? Thanx! (sorry, my english is not very good, i speak spanish

Hola, yo hablo espanol un poco, yo saber que el Moto X tiene root y el Viejo Xbox360 usa el JTAG y creo yo que el que te ha enviado el telephono te ha timado, solo buscar un tutorial en YouTube acerca de Root del Moto X 2014 y hacerlo, es muy facil y no hay inconvenientes depues instalar el recovery para instalar la nueva custom rom.

They're bull****ting you, just root it using any of the guides on the Moto X 2014, this is just for the 2013 version.
