Hi there.
So I wanted to install cyanogenmod on my htc incredible s. So i rooted my phone without big problems. Then I tried to install cyanogenmod through 4ext recovery via zip file. And now all I have is a static white screen. I tried over 10 ruu's that supposed to be installed from pc and phone. I tried another recovery, custom OS, hard reset through recovery and bootloader, goldcard and some other things that I cant even remember. I also tried to lock bootloader, unlock it, reset root etc.
android version before brick was 4.0.4, sense 3.6.
vivo s-on
hboot 2.02.0002
radio 3831.18.00.11_M
Also when i install cm or some other custom OS through 4ext zip install it says OK but when i reload nothing changes.
Help?

With an unlocked bootloader 2.02.0002, you need to extract the boot.img from the CM ROM's zip.file and manually flash it in FASTBOOT USB mode.
You cannot simply flash a custom ROM from 4EXT recovery when you only have an unlocked bootloader. There are plenty of sticky threads in this forum that document the procedure you need to follow. You need to read, study and understand before you try modding your phone.

The ERROR 131 means that you are trying to flash an official RUU for a different carrier/region. You need to create a goldcard in order to successfully flash a RUU.
Why don't you try flashing a custom ROM from recovery and then flash the boot.img file.

OK, after re-reading your posts, here are some additional tips:
When flashing a custom ROM from 4EXT, please make sure you do a full system wipe and then clear both Cache and Dalvik cache before you flash the ROM.
After you flash the ROM, then you need to immediately flash the ROM's boot.img file contained in the zip file using FASTBOOT USB mode.
As for trying to flash 10 different RUU's there ERROR 131 indicates that you have a bad goldcard.

I am stuck without recovery i accidently lost it while trying to flash another recovery..now my phone doesnt boot..so is there any other way to flash recovery without rooting again..i tried flashing it via fastboot but im using hboot 1.33.001d so cant flash anything there...as the verification fails..can does anybody have an idea how to skip the signature verification..
As written in this thread you can flash the
orange-xxx.nbh via fastboot, then boot the rom and you have a full engineering SPL installed. From there you can continue as you want, i.e. flashing new recovery, new SPL, new rom, etc.
which firmware will i get after flashing this..and fyi i am using g1 us version..
I just thought of one other thing to try first. Install Android Commander on your PC. I have successfully reflashed Amon RA recovery with the new radio/SPL from there - there's an option to flash a recovery from your hard drive.
http://androidcommander.com
Failing that, you'll need to start with the nbh, then flash radio/spl/recovery using the instructions provided by Ezterry for installing the radio/spl.

It's a frensh one, but you will not boot into it, because you'll boot directly into bootloader/fastboot. It's only needed for the engineering spl.

all you do is flash the orange nbh so than you can wipe recovery and flash new one... than you want to flash your radio(2708/2825) than flash spl pretty simple and very convenient lol was in same situation couple days ago

do you have fastboot drivers set up? because you need those... lol
can you still boot up your phone? cuz if you can, what you do is go to rom manager and flash the CWM recovery from that

so you dont know if you have fastboot setup on your pc...?
yeah i think so but i use android commander and everything via usb..

it says verification failed i attached an image of that
ok power off the device and reboot to fastboot mode, rename the orange file you have located in the sdk/tools folder to 'orange.nbh' now get to the fastboot cmd and type 'fastboot flash nbh orange.nbh' tell me what happens after that?
Well here's the story, someone gave me their phone to root (i'm the official rooter in my city ) and i accidently skipped over a major step, infact a few of them.
1: I unlocked the phone and flashed clockwork touch recovery
2: Did not backup the original non rooted rom
3: Did not S-off the phone
4: Flashed Android Revolution HD
Now No rom is working, IT gets stuck on the white HTC logo. At least tried 2-3 of them. Cyanogen and ARHD to start with. Tried a few RUU but those aren't going through too. Tried extracting rom.zip from the RUU and flashing manually but they dont work.
Attached is an image with the details of the Firmware on the phone and radio atm
I checked the HTC CID and it's 044 ... Any sort of help would be appreciated.
I feel bad for your city where did you get cwm touch recovery?
Have you flashed the boot.img in fastboot?
If flashing the boot doesn't work. Couldn't you just attempt to s-off through fast boot and flash the RUU etc?
Sent from my Incredible S using xda premium
I feel sorry for them too, now that i screwed up, for the first time though
Well my hboot version is 2.01 and it wasn't supported in revolutionary.io 's s-off method. Didnt think it would work any other way. I dont know how to downgrade it to 1.13.
I got my clockwork recovery from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14693680 this post. If only i can find the original rom/RUU which i can flash and just reset it to the original factory rom. :| i tried 3-4 of the RUU in the filefactory folder that's listed in the incredible s shipped rom section but none of them work.
Can i change the CID in teh android_info text file in the rom.zip of the RUU ? would that work ? apparently the zip is claimed to be corrupt when i try adding the same file back.

I'll ask again, have you flashed the boot.img in fastboot? The link you provided has no touch recovery in the OP or am I required to read all 29 pages?
If you're using cwm from the OP, you should update. Here's the newest version I know of http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager
To your question about flashing an ruu with a modified android_info on an s-on device: no.
You can find what ruu you need by entering the command
Code:
fastboot getvar version-main
the number returned corresponds to the ruu that you should be looking for.
As you are an experienced rooter you probably already know to wipe cache and usually data when you flash a new Rom.
@vizzy how would you gain s-off in fastboot mode?

Install zip from sdcard in cwm, then extract the boot.img file from the zip file and flash it in fastboot I.e

or if you have the ROM.zip extracted from ruu, u can flash it from fastboot using fastboot flash zip rom.zip
where rom.zip will in ur pc
without root that wont be possible! only can try with a stock rom.zip extracted from official ruu.
I also have the same problem. My phone is not root. But i unlock my bootloader. I can't see my SD card. Becuase i flash rom that have different hboot.
My hboot version is 1.25.0.0 but that rom is 1.28.0.0.
I try to flash the system image by fastboot but it show error that file image is too big.
I would like to know how to create the system image to flash by fastboot. how big capacity that i can flash by fastboot.
Now i can use phone only for calling.
If anyone have any system image file that support hboot 1.25.0.0. Please let me know where i can download.
Thanks in advance.

I can't put customer ROM in SD card because my mobile don't see it.
For usb mouting. you mean i can flash it from PC by USD mouting, right?
Would you please give more detail how to do it?
boot in to recovery:
connect phone to pc
- mount and storage
- mount USB.
On PC you can now add your rom.zip to flash it.
If mounting don't work its mean you have hboot 1.28 and you need to flash this recovery.

Before i relock i can load a cwm recovery.
In the recovery i try everything: cache, data, system wipe - factory reset (failed and reload everytime) - try via sideload to install a custom rom (loading the file to device but cannot install...)
After that i read more about the device and i want back to clean stock......but now the only working is fastboot mode to managed the device via PC.
One thing i wont to try was the install a nandroid backup via OTG cable....but this works only in a recovery - right?

The MD5 of the first RUU was okay.
It still does not work. Wrong imaging ....

1.28.401.7 is a downgrade and you can't downgrade with S-ON, you must use a ruu same or higher version installed on your phone (1.29.401.10 +)
So,
i downloaded your recommendation:
"RUU M7 UL K44 SENSE55 MR HTC Europe 4.19.401.9 R Radio 4A.23.3263.28 10.38r.1157.04L Release 353069 Signed 2-1"
and try to install but i get imaging error.
The phone shows the silver htc logo and aborted during pushing the files to the device with this imaging error message.....
MD5 matched!
Is this also the wrong RUU??
Somehow I can not get to the target Very disappointing ...
Any ideas?
I get the unlock code from htcdev.com.
Better work with unlocked device (recovery, sideload, nandroid backup option via OTG cable)???
I have solved the problem:
That's what I did:
Unlock the bootloader via htcdev.com.
Get the cwm recovery back .
Flash the current cwm recovery via fastboot (my recovery was a little bit outdated).
Flash via sideload cm11 Rom.
Device booting until the bootanimation :victory:
Back to recovery do all the wipe stuff.
And yes i have fully working device now
Great!
But unfortunately I have not a RUU to get back to the factory defaults ....
But there are still a few RUU or nandroid backups that I can try ...

Try re download the zip (or try an other rom)maybe you just got an false download. i also had some trouble with my m7 back in the day.
But in your case now you are stuck with no os or bootloop, i give you as advice to follow an soft unbrick method it worked for me, or if you have an usb otg cable and usb or and usb otg thumbstick, put the rom on that usb and connect it to your phone and then try to flash it (if your using twrp you have an option to choose from wich storage you want to use)
Also a piece of advice, when flashing roms, kernels etc please have your phone charged above 50% (just in case).

Can you please post the output of
Code:
fastboot getvar all
please remove your imei and serial number.
Depending on which variant of the M7 you have you probably just need a different version of recovery to install a CM rom. I think they prefer TWRP 2.7.x.x. Post the getvar and we can see what you have. then I can give you a better informed instruction. :good:
P.s also check the md5 of the rom zip you downloaded. Use this tool www.winmd5.com the correct md5 should be listed with the link you downloaded the rom from
failed to mount /dev/block/blah blah blah = needs "block:by-name" support which twrp 2.6.3.3 doesn't have
everything explained here
So update your recovery
and do what danny said above so he can confirm you have the right rom/recovery for your device.

Your getvar looks fine this rom should work fine with your device. Download this version of TWRP https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358561860 (2.7.1.2). dropthe file in your fastboot folder and flash it with fastboot.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery "name-of-recovery".img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Once thats done reflash the rom with the new version of TWRP. It should flash just fine :good:
iv managed to flash cm12.1 now, thanks guys, is there anyway i could get the HTC software back on.

There are a number of ways to return to stock software. You can simply flash a stock rom through twrp or use a stock nandroid. look for rom that match your version main. 7.19.401.22
I think there is even an lollipop 7.19.401.22 RUU for your device but I'm not sure if it will work with s-on though because it's a zip but it certainly wouldnt hurt to try it though. You will need to relock your bootloader and flash it with fastboot.
I'll edit this post with links when I find them unless some one beats me to it
Hey Dan do you think we could skype and you could talk me through it, it would be much easier?

Sorry I am at work so availability is scetchy. I found the ruu but it's for the older 7.19.401.2 lollipop, this won't work for you because your s-on. Downgrading firmware is only possible with s-off.
You can use this stock rom though http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/development/rom-100-pure-stock-5-0-2-7-19-401-2-t3044041 just flash it with twrp. The thread recommends TWRP 2.8.5.X no need to relock the bootloader or anything silly, just flash it like any other rom :good:
You'll notice that this rom is also for the older 7.19.401.2 so you will need to install the last OTA update to bring your rom in line with your firmware. Flash this recovery with the same method as twrp. (Stock recovery required for installing the OTA) http://sourceforge.net/projects/htcone/files/Recovery/STOCK/7.19.401.2_recovery.img/download reboot then just go to Settings>About>Check for updates.

Okay try this. Download the OTA but select the option "Install Later" connect your m7 to your pc and browse your storage. In the download folder on your phone you should find the OTA in zip format. Copy it to your pc.
Now open the OTA zip on your pc. Inside you'll find another zip called "firmware.zip" extract it then open it. Inside you'll find a recovery.img. extract the recovery file and flash it with fastboot. Now reboot to android and continue to install the OTA. :fingers-crossed:

Yes you will need to unlock the bootloader to flash the recovery, Dont forget to fastboot erase cache after flashing the recovery that is cruicial. You don't need to be relocked to install the OTA though.
When you select install now, the device should reboot to the Stock Recovery. At first the screen will just be black for a short while. Then you'll see an image of a phone with a Green ring and download arrow. If you hold Volume up and press the power button you will see the Stock Recovery and its progress in installing the OTA.
I'm not sure why your device was hanging on boot after installing the OTA. Maybe a bad recovery.img. that's why I say to get the recovery from the OTA file.
its still not working so i mite just install twrp and restore to cm12.1

Your still stuck with this? Try starting the process over, but do not relock your bootloader at any point.
Wipe system data and cache partitions with TWRP Advanced wipe
Flash the Rom with twrp as a clean install.
Reboot and download the OTA. Choose install later, then copy the OTA to your pc. Extract the Stock Recovery and flash it with fastboot. Reboot and install the OTA.
But do not relock your boot loader. Because when you unlock the bootloader, it wipes the device including the data/preload folder. If the preload folder is not intact the OTA will fail
