You there! Yes, you!
Do you own a Xperia Z? Are you slightly irritated that you have this flagship phone, and when you turn your phone on, it doesn't even tell you that? Do you think that you could be entitled to compensation?
You're not getting any. However, this bootanimation should be sufficient, as it says XPERIA Z clearly in the message. And it comes in PlayStation 3 style, awesome!
Don't worry, people who are concerned at losing their dashing stock repeated bootanimation, I've included that on repeat once the PS3 part has cycled.

If you want one in a different colour, don't ask in the forum below, I never read that. Private Message me. I don't bite, I don't charge, I won't send a plague to smite down your family.
Oh, yeah, please leave a thanks if you download it. And donations are ALWAYS appreciated, no matter how small.

I've had a request for a blue-coloured one. Obviously I could do every frame by hand, but that's a project that could take days to complete. If anybody by chance can find a video on YouTube of a blue startup it would save me a tonne of time to do.
How to install there? Or replace the system files? Well , i have one question , the booranimation files is at which folder?
Thanks ur relpy and helper
Sent from my C6603 using xda premium
They're located in system/media.
Unless for some peculiar reason you have a Sense-based ROM (I know those feels), in which case it's located in system/customize/resource... Despite the fact there is a media folder in system anyway... I'm not going into the inner workings of HTC, but I just wish they would MAKE EVERYTHING SIMPLER.
...Sorry for waffling there. Pretty simple. It's in /system/media. If you have SU... Which you should, how else would you be able to do this(?), then you can do it through ES file explorer. You just need to mount as rw-r-r.

Since I lost my job this month (and my wife with it for that mather) I got a lot of spare time on my hands and since I read a lot of requests throughouth the internet about the "Pink fluffy unicorns" song.
And what is more fun then booting up with that f*cked up song?
For the people who don't know what I'm talking about:
So why not spend my time giving some fun to you people out there and learn a thing or two about my android while I'm at it
So here it is..
Last week I didn't even know the animation is made out of *.PNG's so it took me some time, mostly because I was doing something wrong for the fourth or fifth time.
The most time however took the tweaking with the framerate so the singing and talking was in sync.
But hey, I tested it about a thousend times already and it seems to work perfect!
FOR ROOT USERS ONLY
Copy and paste the bootanimation.zip into the same folder where your adb.exe is located which is usually program files\android\android-sdk\platform-tools\.
open up adb through your cmd prompt and execute the following commands to load the new boot animation:
Code:
adb remount
adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local
Also extract and put the android_audio.mp3 file into the same folder as adb and type:
Code:
adb push android_audio.mp3 [COLOR=Black][B][I]/system/customise/resources/[/I][/B][/COLOR]
[COLOR=Red]or in some cases
[/COLOR][I][B][COLOR=Blue]/data/local/[/COLOR][/B][/I]
[COLOR=Red]or [/COLOR]
[B][COLOR=Blue]/system/customize/resource/[/COLOR][/B]
Now we test everything out by rebooting
Code:
adb reboot
Link to bootanimation.zip
The needed mp3 is the attachment at the end of this post.
And if you have any requests just name them, cause I'm probably glad I'll get my mind off of things.
And if you can then spare a donation it would be surely appreciated, cause it's not really been Moët & Chandon the past month.
Thanks man very good bootanimation

UPDATED 3/27/11
Mostly just bug fixes, and file operations should no longer block the ui.
0.1.2 - fixed a rotation bug I introduced
It's my first app ever, so be gentle
Post any bugs found here and I can fix them, any comments are welcome too!
It doesn't support modifying root files, but it will eventually.
Thanks!
Cool! I'm downloading right now to check it out. Thanks!
Definitely a good start. Very clean and intuitive. One bug I found is after going a few folders deep in the sdcard, then using the back button to get back to / pressing the sdcard folder again doesn't do anything.
If a press another folder and then press sdcard it works.
I can give you logs too if you'd like.
Also, there is a typo with rename in the tool box. It shows "renam-e"

It's got that, open the Tool Box and drag the Rename icon to whatever you want to rename... it's a tad buggy, it may not show it being renamed right away until you reopen the folder.
Has anyone here had issues opening the app after first installing it? I got a one star review (probably the first of many) that said someone had issue with it.

Problem I'm having is with the Market download. I'm unable to download the app to install it. I can download other apps yes.

Will be trying this today. Very excited.
ASTRO betrayed me, the week I paid for it, it became abandoned (though three Android versions and eight months later, Metago still claims its not abandoned and updates are coming)
Bauxite:
First off, a very nice first iteration!
Now, the things that "appear" to be missing which are keeping me with a copy of ES File Manager - feel free to tell me if they are in here and I just didn't find them:
1) Zip File Extraction into a folder named the same as the file (except for the .Zip of course)
2) Rar File Extraction into a folder named the same as the file (except for the .Rar of course)
3) Ability to see my shared drives on my home LAN and copy files back and forth
4) Integrated Image Viewer
Anyone familiar with scanlated Manga will understand where this list comes from
Looking forward to new updates
Ok, I was browsing the other SGS forums like I usually do and I stumbled across this. So I downloaded it and was surprised just how fast it was.
I have alot of images saved on my phone. From my theming stuff.
This gallery loaded all of them in under 15sec. My original gallery took around 2min to do the same. Anyway check it out.
I take no credit as I didnt create it, I simply found it. I will upload link to original poster if/when I can find it again... I know it came from i9000 gingerbread leak.

Nope, just faster load time for the gallery. Awe...some, thx!
I don't know if this is happening to others, but when I open an image then hit the back button, instead of taking you back to the gallery it closes the gallery. It does load a bit quicker.

Weird, but it actually seems slower to load than before. But does anyone know if the old Gallery let you set a specific lockscreen wallpaper separate from the homescreen wallpaper(long press image-more-set as)? If so, I never noticed. If not, cool new option!
Edit: reboot helped speed a lot.
Edit 2: Set as lockscreen wallpaper doesn't seem to work... So as far as cool new option goes, not so much.

*This is not my idea, I'm just sharing it. Head on over to the original thread where I saw this for some more information/support!
Some of you guys may have already seen this one but here it is for those who haven't.
Basically this is the .apk for Samsung's S-Voice taken form the leaked rom of the up-and-coming Galaxy SIII. S-Voice is supposed to be samsung's answer to Siri - but some people have reported that in reality it is just a skinned Vlingo with a couple of extra features!.
To install it:
move it to /system/app (Either by using Root explorer/ES file explorer or adb push voicetalk /system/app)
Change permissions to rw r-- r-- using Root explorer/ES file explorer
Go to build.prop and chnage ro.product.model & ro.product.device to GT-19300
Reboot
Go to /system/app and click on the voicetalk.apk and install like a normal sideload app
Note:
This is for ICS only and I have only tested it on Lord Clockans Ice Cold Sandwich 7.5 Test 9.
You need a data connection for it to work

Seemingly it'll only work on ICS. Hence the parse error.
EDIT: Trying it on SenseMOD FlashONE v1.3.1. Although it has installed and went through the tutorial, it now just FC's as soon as i try to open it. I'll see if it's any better after a reboot.
EDIT2: No luck. Still FC's immediately after starting.
It's a problem with the lcd density I think because it doesn't work at 240 it works better at 190 but still had force closes it works flawlessly at 160 though and I would love to keep it there if it weren't for the phone APK bug on ice cold
So piece of advice lower your lcd density but this may be problematic on sense roms of course

Here's me running it at 160dpi. The application still has a lot of room of improvement its not anywhere near as good as siri - I haven't tried siri myself! - and it really struggled to pick up my thick Scottish accent. I this could be a problem of the DHD because my brothers evo 3d and my galaxy tab do a much better job at understanding me
First a tried asking it the weather for London and after only 2 tries it got it right!
Then I tried setting an alarm up for 6am it could only get pm instead and after many tries I thought I'd just stick with pm and see what happens, you as you can see it understands what I meant but obviously I wasn't surprised when it couldn't figure out how to actually put an alarm on
Anyway I won't run the whole surprise for you and I'll let you check it out yourself!
