Hi,
I did a stupid thing today I wiped a lot of things in recovery. Now Android is gone and my sd card is empty.
I'm using ClockworkMod Touch Recovery v6.0.3.1 for recovery.
Phone was unlocked.
CID: O2___102
fastboot is working but adb isn't. Probably because i have no android and can't check usb debugging mode.
Now i think the only way is to use an RUU. I relocked the phone and tried the following RUU's:
RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.7_Radio_4A.13.3231.27_10.31.1131.05_release_310878_signed
RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_BrightstarUS_WWE_1.29.1540.16.exe
It gives me a customer error. Probably because it's an O2 phone. I didn't find an O2 RUU. What can i do?

Can you get into recovery though? Just sideload rom through USB OTG
1) no panic
2) can you access recovery? if no flash recovery again in fastboot -> turn phone off -> boot into recovery
3) in recovery you should be able to use adb comands (push rom to sd-card)
4) flash rom

I have to flash recovery again. Will CWM do? Where do i have to go in CWM to use adb?
Do i have to use this command? Adb push file.zip /sdcard
I can't shutdown the phone now so i have to wait till battery is empty. I can press power as long as i want but it hangs at boot now.

When you say it hangs at boot, do you mean it reboots then hangs at boot, or it just won't shut down? I would try plugging in to usb and then unplugging a couple of times (connecting to your pc), then try rebooting by holding power button. As soon as it shuts down, hold volume down and power back on to get to recovery.
Do you have a usb otg cable?

It hangs at white screen: htc quietly brillant screen. No reboots. Normally it shutdown if you hold power for 10 seconds but not right now.
Don't know about the cable. I have got the original micro-USB to USB cable. I use this cable also for fastboot

Did you only relock or also flashed stock recovery? Also are you S-Off already? The more info you provide, the easier we can help. In any case breath calm, you will be back soon.

OK, well if you don't have USB OTG, do what Hansbert says.
You could use the all in one toolkit found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183942
Reinstall HTC drivers, flash clockwork mod recovery (if you're sure it's not there) and then you could use the "ADB sideload a ROM" found in extras.
Edit: he_stheone will sort you out....he fixes everything :highfive:

I did relock because i wanted to try stock recovery RUU. RUU failed and recovery didn't work anymore.
Now i unlocked bootloader again, and flashed ClockworkMod recovery again.
Try holding phone under bright light while holding power helped me! Thank you redbull123.
I'm now in CWM. Hope adb will work too.
*edit*
adb sideload found. adb devices command also works now. i'm going to try the adb sideload rom.zip command now
adb sideload rom.zip command works! I tried a custom rom 2 times but CWM freezes a couple of times so i had to start over. The third time it says rom is succesfully flashed
I can confirm now after reboot it works. Thank you all so much for your quick replies.
Nice to hear that

I was using the previous version (2.5) just fine and just went to GooManager and I assume that GooManager will download the right for me.
I opened GooManager and click on Menu then Install OpenRecoveryScript and then I manually rebooted to recovery once the download finished. And that's when I get stuck on "swipe to unlock"
Filename was "openrecovery-twrp-2.6.0.0-m7wls.img"

well, thats the right one, i would suggest that you manually download the file and install using adb fastboot.
I direct downloaded the file from their site and fast boot flashed after verifying MD5. There is definitely a problem with he recovery

Thank you sir! I am new to this so I am learning as I go. I read that these are the steps to follow to do an ADB Fastboot. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks again for your help.
1) Download the above file. Save it to the root of your /sdcard directly (internal memory only) and rename it to "twrp.img"
2) Turn off your device. Turn on the device and keep holding volume down until a menu shows up. Select fastboot from the menu list.
3) Plug the device into your computer. Run the following command via the command line:
fastboot flash recovery "twrp.img"
Bless.

That sucks! So should I do try adb fastboot or go back to the previous version (2.5)?
What sucks is that without 2.6 working properly, I won't be able to flash any ROM with the new android version (4.2)

Did you just recently update your firmware to the new base? The reason I ask is because after I did I used the the firmware with the bootloader and recovery included. I had reflashed TWRP 2.5. Well I noticed that the method of holding down volume key and and power button would not work for me at all whether I was in the os, bootloader or recovery. So I flashed the Rom I was on again and it fixed it. So I am wondering this is what is happening to you. Maybe just let the phone lose charge then plug it in reboot to the os then into bootloader and flash the 2.5 TWRP recovery. Only thing I can think of your not bricked

I do not have a separate file. I think my TWRP came as part of some bigger ( root, recovery, permissions) package. I would think it was the Sprint version, but I keep having slight problems - those system apps try reboot after install, but in my case they do not. I have to boot manually, and after each recovery reboot I get a "reboot error notification". Can this be related?

You should have read and studied the procedure to unlock the boot loader and flash a custom ROM a bit more carefully!
The step you are missing is that you will need to manually flash the ROM's boot.img in FASTBOOT USB mode.

I suggest to go back and read the procedure that you used to learn about unlocking via HTCDEV.com and flashing a custom recovery. That thread should have everything you need to know.
You can flash a ROM in your current state, but there is a documented step that you missed about flashing the boot.img file.

you can install custom roms on your device...after installing the ROM, do not let the device to boot to the boot animation or whatever you call it..
Instead, boot to the bootloader...enter the fastboot menu (fastboot usb if your phone is already connected to your computer)...open a command prompt/terminal and type fastboot devices. If your device is recognized, the output would be your device's serial number...
Copy the boot.img file from the ROM's .zip file to some folder. open a cmd window in that folder/ navigate to that folder in cmd (if already opened)
type fastboot flash boot boot.img
if the boot.img is successfully flashed, you can reboot your device and you should be able to boot properly.
If you are s-on and unlocked via htcdev method, follow the above steps every time you flash a new rom.
If you are s-off, the above method is not needed. You can flash roms and use them without any hassle...
Hope this helps...

No, there is no need to unzip the zip file in your PC...only the boot.img file is required.
First install the ROM from the custom recovery and then boot into the bootloader by pressing the vol down button while the phone restarts. Then, flash the boot.img and you should be able to boot...

Hello dear guru's =)
I have an HTC One international. Today i try to get root access and install custom recovery, whent i flash recovery i missed that chose a boot partition to install it. Now phone boots only into recovery, and from my PC, adb or fastboot don see it, but in usb devices its present.
Im on linux Ubuntu 13.04.
In phone dont have any backup.

When i chose from CWM recovery menu "Reboot recovery", phone boot into download mode, and thats all. Fastboot or adb dont see it.
But. In usb device list:
In download mode:
Bus 002 Device 061: ID 0bb4:0ff9 HTC (High Tech Computer Corp.) Desire / Desire HD / Hero / Thunderbolt (Charge Mode)
In recovery mode:
Bus 002 Device 063: ID 0bb4:0f91 HTC (High Tech Computer Corp.)
Assuming you didn't corrupt your boot loader you should be able to get at the boot loader and use fastboot to flash a new recovery.
Power the device off
Hold power and volume down, the phone should turn on and load into the boot loader.
From there you can select fastboot (navigate menu with volumn buttons, power button to select fastboot).
You can use this command to flash a recovery:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
If you can enter bootloader, you may try formatting partitions from fastboot, and flashing them afterwards, that is if bootloader is unlocked.
You can also lock your bootloader and try installing RUU,it will put your phone back to stock,
P.S. - I'm new to this,so please consult with more experienced members, before doing anything

"screen with a phone icon and a green image like i can connect via usb or something, but then it turns red after about 30 seconds" -> that's stock recovery
Before, when you are in bootloader (image attached), are you able to "fastboot devices" and it shows up? because the bootloader is not affected by the recovery.
basically "fastboot flash boot recovery.img" put the custom recovery where the kernel is supposed to be.
First thing you need to get/confirm working is bootloader/fastboot.

In cwm adb will work.
So i think you have some issue with drivers.
And, however, if you turn off the phone, you can't access in bootloader with a longpress of power and vol-?
Hey, so I'm the one who had this same situation. What I had to do from what I recall is go to CWM screen, cleared the cache, even in advanced the davlik cache, then I believe (and you might have to try different combinations of this, because I don't 100% remember as I had before tried so many different ways) I unmounted the system mount, then went to reboot from the first screen to get to the bootloader (hold power button and volume down). After this, I clicked on Fastboot and it then went to Fastboot USB. This is where you should be able to connect. Don't leave this screen until you flash the recovery in the right place and then properly install the ROM. Let me know if you get to at least connecting and I can even send over an image for your boot, so you can at least get your phone back.
It can be done, I had the same situation so your phone is not bricked. Just keep working at it.

If you can boot to TWRP recovery, then you can ADB push a ROM to recovery and boot it.
Edit: Sorry, I missed the fact that TWRP had been deleted too.

No, if you can boot to TWRP, as @rootSU said, you can move a ROM to internal and get up and running. Then you can go about unlocking.

Power off the device. Once completely shut down, hold power and volume down until bootloader screen appears. Then use the volume keys to select recovery. Then push power to select.
from your original post, it says your not running twrp anymore. have you tried just letting the phone try to boot up? have you tried reflashing twrp to your phone via fastboot. id try, and if its successful, id push a rom to my phone then. if not, try flashing a factory img.

Or, if you are still in fastboot, issue this command > fastboot reboot recovery

as i said before, when twrp has been deleted, the Recovery mode is useless : when i hit it, it instantly return to bootloader screen

Then I'm afraid you may be stuck. A RMA may be in your future if no one else can offer a solution.
