Aren't this phone's specs comparable to an iphone 3gs? I don't understand why the iphone outperforms this phone by so much. My phone always ends up being laggy and slow. The scrolling is jittery. I understand that it's not a high end phone but then specs seem decent.

Ios is just faster than android
If our phone ran ios, then it would be smoother,
Try a ROM and kernel

also 3gs has a Cortex A8 Cpu rather than an A5 which DC has,but yes a custom rom and a kernel would fix your performance issues.
Cyanogenmod even made my old htc legend blazingly fast, it felt like a new high end phone(at least the normal things, games still weren't superb), developers found a way to make cm10 work on our phone, We only need to wait for WiFi...

Wow. . . I got my tab from verizon and compared to my incredible 2 this thing runs like a pentium 2 with 32mb of ram. I was really expecting more. Can somebody tell me if theres a better rom out there thats fully functional. Best one you know of. The most amazing rom in your opinion. Speed, stability, the works if possible. Know what they say " Go big or go home ".
Honestly the confidence and paranoia ROM from oldmacnut works great especially with the new voodoo kernel by imoseyon my tab runs super smooth, you can find their work under the development section check it out

I've got the sprint tab.. but I've run both the better than life and cm7 (rootzwiki) and I keep cm7 on my Tab (personal preference of course) but they both run pretty well considering...

Dual core on all the time?? Don't tell me you have a nuclear reactor the size of a Battery
If u look at the apps i posted the one by anryl tweaks the second core so u can set it independently. u can install the anryl app but im not sure it does anything when u apply any of the Tweaks. Maybe one of oir devs will take a look at this and decide it might be usefull/or not.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
You can for example use the app "2nd Core", available on Play Store to set both cores On. It will work on some kernels but not all. Im sorry to say I can't advice about fps limits though, I don't know anything about it yet.

Is our processor that bad when compared to Tegra 2 ?:sly:
Because I played subway surfer and I can tell u that my incredible s can't play the game as smooth and fast and responsive as the atrix for example (Tegra 2 device)
I even overclocked my cpu to 1.8 but still there is a drop of frames per second and the game lags like hell
The atrix run the game so smoothly even if it's not clocked at 1 GHz (not over clocked)
I am so disappointed in my device
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using xda app-developers app
Tegra is dual core, ours is single core. Ours is also a year older than the tegra. There's no nothing to be disappointed in because our phone is nearly 2 years old, and our processor 2 and a half years

For games try hunterwu kernels. I think, extreme overclocking (1.8) is bad idea. Our processor can work normaly 1-1.4 GHz.

I have had no issues playing games on stock frequenc either. With bother Beast kernel and redux.
So this app has been around on iOS for three years now, but has only today arrived on Android.
130mb download can be quite a hassle but I think it is worth it. To clarify: this is a game, (well sort of?) in which you can explore a town/castle with the surroundings. It has no real gameplay or missions or anything, but it's nice to know what amazing graphics our little beast is capable of
Play Store link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.epicgames.EpicCitadel
Graphics are really amazing, screens taken from my phone attached
Oh yeah, before I forget, you can also use the app to benchmark
wow nice pics. do you use the jellybean drivers that have just resurfaced in this section ?
If not perhaps you could try them as see if theres a difference.
I do use the drivers and have as habit when they were posted , i just have all this sort of stuff backed up on my pc so just pull it when I need it.( I still have a Nameless v5.05 backed up with the original OC's In case the new offical rom ended up not as good as the old rom nameless was based off .:good:
Jb drivers indeed, they are pretty awesome
Sent from my HTC Desire C using xda app-developers app
Jellybean drivers don't add more fps instead it lowers it by .4 or .3 in some gpu benchmark app making it slower than the original htc ics egl drivers.

This is a topic that discusses the possibility and pros/con's of having a gingerbread rom on our desire c.
Personally I think that gingerbread is like CLASSIC android, and 4.0+ is More MODERN android.
I have absolutely no experience in building Roms so I ask the developers here to maybe try to build something more old fashioned
I am willing to test any and every ROM made.
What do you guys think?
I feel that we have run out of Roms to build in android Jelly bean so why not try something old but fresh!

No.
Absolutely no point, like at all.
Then we could run Java Emulator

Thanks that would be awesome!!! And to all the haters (me, and brnt) not everyone likes the way android 4.0+ looks. I personally like it but I like 2.3 better...
Pros / Cons of gingerbread:
Pros:
- better menu look
- faster performance on our hardware
- less bulky than jelly bean (animations, apps, etc)
- more classic of android
- AWESOME 3D GALLERY
- Officially supported hardware
Cons:
- less smooth as jellybean
- less app support
- less RAM management
Sent from my HTC Desire C using xda app-developers app
Pros / Con's of Cyanogenmod 7 (not the stock GB features)
Pros:
-more customization than cm10
-(currently) more themes than cm10
Con's:
-less "spin offs" (Provision, Etc.)

Why would you downgrade a device to software that is 2 years old? If you wanted to get 2.3 buy a wildfire S... The main selling point of this device was at the time it was a very cheap and good quality handset running the latest version of android which was 4.0! And gingerbread was old and looked outdated compared to modern day Android (entirely opinion though)
The points you made with stock gingerbread were mostly opinion, and about the jelly bean being bloated (which I agree with) remember that the HTC Desire C came with stock ICS which was smooth when coupled with sense. And I think someone can port the "AWESOME 3D GALLERY" if it hasn't been done already.
It would be great to see it happen, but what's the point?

If you want GB ( Not CM7 ), you can port stock rom from HTC Explorer. Desire C and Explorer have same chipset, so the ROM will boot and function out of box. Only, BT and WiFi wont work at first. You can fix that later.

Guys I really appreciate your opinions on the topic. Lol, from the start of the development of this phone I wanted a GB look. You may laugh at me for buying a phone that never had or will get GB but the only phone that was availible to me to get GB (my carrier) was the Samsung galaxy Q, and that thing is really bad + it runs 2.2 not 2.3 and 2.2s status bar is ugly (my opinion). So is there any devas that wish to help me out a little?
Thanks for reading!!

Well I like your idea of having something classical. And no I am not a hater, I'm just stating an opinion.
That is why its a [Discussion]. What I recommend you doing is to learn how to do stuff on your own and not rely on others.
I was curious about kernels, so I learned. I mean it shouldn't be that hard to follow a guide.
About GB
me too ... i wish theres a GB/CM7 roms here... .. .but it is more smooth if it is a plain GB (doesnt have a Sense) ... and also about the kernel?? what kernel we should flash?
That would be awesome. Oh the days f gingerbread

You should use kernel 2.6.x for GB. For that you need to port Explorer's 2.6.x stock kernel source to Desire C, just like we ported 3.0.x kernel for Explorer from Desire C.
