No, cause I don't believe them either. I just know that they've been tipped, or one has been tipped and the rest had reposted the story, that 4.2.2 is very close to release.

I don't like this because at some point, I think HTC might find that a lot of people are using AOSP over Sense, and just kill Sense development all together. I still like using it, and Sense 5 is BEAST!
I doubt HTC would leave sense. The option would be wonderful, but then, what would be the point of the nexus if devices can easily run stock?

I would assume that the point of the nexus devices would be to have something unlocked and give a great device to the prepaid market. The nexus 4 was priced very aggressively and from my understanding did really well. Not only with people who could use it on contract as a replacement device but also for people who wanted an inexpensive super phone on a prepaid carrier. Also, people like to purchase on contract for subsidized pricing on handsets. Giving this option of aosp or sense would mean that tech savvy people like us who care about this would have the option. While your average consumer will play with sense in the store and either like it or hate it. At least that's how I feel about it.
Sense does do some stuff android doesn't. I always find myself going back and forth but preferring sense.

It does seem AOSP is lacking at times. I know it has no bloat, but simple features of sense like facebook contact syncing is vital. It annoys me to have contacts without photos

Nexus one wasn't really for cusumer use, more of a dev phone. Just fanboys build up non-sense hype.
Top much competition in the OS market.but google is safe from its rivals because of its service. But because now more companies want to have the similar services. These upcoming OS are a good platform to furnish with those services.

Really looking forward to KLP (pretty much confirmed to be the name and v5.0) when it comes out in June. Also hopefully I can get a ticket to IO 2013 :fingers-crossed:

Sent from my Xperia P using xda premium
I heard Sony too, which did put me off the Nexus 4 a bit, Sony > LG in my experiences.
i doubt there will be a new device launched at IO they only just launched and sorted out their supply issues of N10 and N4. i reckon they will give out white versions of the N4 at IO like shown in the leaked photos, and MAYBE the nexus 7 refresh will appear; releasing a new phone now will kill sales of the N4 and it wont happen nexus 5 or w/e it will be will be seen around sept/nov like every previous phone.
How do we know it will be called key lime pie? It seems to me that we're now on beans, so I think they'll call it "kidney bean", and then after that, "lima bean."
Neither kidney or lima beans are desserts.

Don't think it's anything to freak out about. It's just a leaked ROM which means it most likely already exists for the N4 it just hasn't been leaked. When the GPE phones get an official update before us then we can lose our s***. That won't ever happen though.

Most likely few people outside of Google have the Nexus 4 4.3 version. That is probably why you rarely see leaks with Nexus devices. Probably there are quite a few people outside of Google testing 4.3 on the GE phones. So it makes sense there was a leak. It sounds like 4.3 is going to hit soon anyways.
It will come when it comes. If 4.3 is almost ready for the sgs4 and the one it is probably ready to go for the nexus line as well.
Its not like we are hurting for good ROMs and kernels for this phone and need 4.3 to make are phones usable.

Exactly, 1 or 2. Some of people would also rely on developers and just wait for them to fix bugs in stock rom, but imagine that untested or not tested enough build is released today for nexus 4, we all know how many stupid threads about "how google could release builds like this" woukd be created so people have to decide, if they want android quicker, or more bugless

Maps automatically updated from the Play Store today on my S4, it says it is being rolled out slowly so maybe just a select number of downloads at a time while they test it? Not sure.
I like and dislike the new update.
The new UI is pretty smooth and clean.
However they removed the option for zoom buttons. You used to be able to decide if you wanted to display them or not, now there is no option what so ever. However they've added a little help file that shows all the gestures and one i was unaware of (or maybe it is new, probably not) is double tap and hold then drag up to zoom in and drag down to zoom out. Makes up for the lack of buttons I suppose since you can still zoom in/out with one hand/finger.
Another thing I'm a little sour at google for sending the way of the dinosaur is latitude. I always enjoyed stalking my friends, but they've decided to kill latitude altogether. I got an email from google today:
Hello,
Earlier today, we announced that Google Latitude is no longer part of the Google Maps app, and we're retiring Latitude on August 9, 2013.
This means that after August 9, your Latitude friends list will be deleted and you'll lose the ability to share your location with them. There will also be some changes to Location Reporting and Location History, including changes to third-party applications that use Google Latitude. Please see our FAQs for more information.
We understand some of you still want to see your friends and family on a map, which is why we've added location sharing to Google+ for Android (coming soon to iOS).
Thank you for using Google Latitude.
Sincerely,
The Google Latitude Team

If you want feedback, I'd say it's too simplistic. Again, I have no idea how to make a boot animation, but I'm sure it takes a bit of time. I mean no disrespect. It would be cool to see the android Kit Kat figure possibly spinning with it reading Google Android 4.4 with Google colors implemented. I hope you don't take this the wrong way. Hats off to you for being able to even make a boot animation. Peace

It's has been confirmed for a while now that the next version of Android is 4.4 Kit Kat. I'm not positive, but my thoughts on the Key Lime Pie name is that Google was planning on using it for the next version of Android until they realized Kit Kat & Android can cross promote to make $$$. Kit Kat has released special candy bars with the Android Logo on the packaging with Play Store codes to win free stuff. The upcoming Nexus 5 will be the first Android phone with Kit Kat 4.4. It should be released any day now... I hope because I want one. Can't go wrong with the Nexus 5 pricing starting at $349.00 to $449.00. A couple hundred dollars cheaper than other flagship phones and its probably going to be the best phone you can buy. I know I got a bit off topic but I'm excited for the release. Lol

lol I'm also excited, nothing more I saw the picture that was leaked today in the page and the mind is water made me lol
Actually KeyLimePie was never accepted by Google. It was all speculation that was off. They never planned on a KeyLimePie, it is just fan wishes. The Google team is going with KitKat because it is the teams favorite food.

White KitKat = 4.5? Lol

Maybe make one with "Android" instead of "KitKat"? From latest leaks 4.4 name is KEYLIMEPIE and KitKat is only for fool and marketing play.

you are seriously misinformed. those leaks show an EARLY build of 4.4 when KitKat was not announced yet. i don't think Google and KitKat will play such a huge troll like that.

Who knows if it is the 4.5 or 4.6? , Android always has surprises.

I LOVE the simplicity of it.
Keep it up!

Hopefully it fixes the horrendous camera speed.
christianpost is full of click bait articles that have no basis in reality. They literally have daily stories going back a few months saying the nexus 10 (2013 edition) has been confirmed for release on a specific date (which changes every time it passes).
not saying 4.4.1 is not coming definitively, just saying that news source is worthless.

Agreed. christianpost and ibtimes are the two biggest google news spammers I've seen. I wish google news had a way to filter out specific sites. Again, 4.4.1 might be coming (and probably is). But I usually disregard both of the above sites as well as any other news site that quotes one of them as sources.
if there was an update coming, we'd see it on a more major site like android central, android police, droid life or even engadget... not to mention any posts from anyone in the know on G+
just my thoughts.
While I do agree with you all there is one thing that makes me think this is true. LLabTooFeR is very accurate when it comes to releases and if he stated it was coming to the HTC One soon then the nexus would get it first. He is a very reputable and accurate informer when it comes to updates.

4.4.1 will likely be released in the future. "Soon" might be a few mibutes, hours, days, weeks, or months.

Agreed, Football is generally right on when it comes to timing of releases for HTC devices. Did he say when 4.4.1 was coming or did he just say soon?
It doesn't take a genius to know 4.4.1 is going to be released for the N5 at some point. Nothing any news site so far has posted has any real inside info as to the date. So we will just have to wait and see.
LLabTooFeR
Is the man now behind the leaks. I was in the HTC One threads for months and he was the first at it. Football has semi retired from that.. I see LLabTooFeR putting them up now.

I really hope this update fixes the slow camera and hopefully brings more fixes.
Hopefully iB4STiD will update his rom for the new update because that is my favorite rom so far.
Camera and speaker
New camera app and loud speaker volume fix would make the Nexus 5 complete. :fingers-crossed:
