Something strange happened to me when i wiped all the partitions of my phone in TWRP 2.5.0.0,when the process whas ended, i found a strange directory called "0" and other one "twrp" in my internal memory...well,my sdcard is almost here. Now i want to flash a new rom via adb sideload or ad push....always different errors happened...OMG,may i use a pendrive with otg cable? What happened with my internal memory?
I thinked my device had a partial brick...this is not the first time i had problems like that, it happens to me in a One S when i did a factory reset via bootloader with no-stock recovery. I find a solution in that thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1630459
So i have tried the same solution on my one and it works fine.
1.Reinstall stock recovery from here in the way indicated.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265618
2.Enter bootloader and use the option "factory reset"
3.Wait until process is complete(you will see a phone with a green exclamation ).
4.The phone will reboot, push volume down button until enter in bootloader.
5.Use option fastboot and reflash your favorite recovery.
Voila!! Adb will recognice your device and you are now able to send any file to yur sdcard.
Thanks to all the people who has developed all tools needed for that solution

Clockwork Recovery 2.5(The one that comes with the cyanogen)
Windows Vista 32bit
List of known facts:
CANNOT normal boot (Stuck at boot logo)
CANNOT boot into Recovery mode (Stuck at boot logo)
USB debugging mode is OFF
CAN boot into fastboot option by holding Power + Camera
If i can still be able to do Fastboot i need a noob guide or something
Because im far from understanding it
when i plug in the usb into my computer, my g1 says "Fastboot USB mode" on
but my computer does not have a single pop up or any devices shown anywhere
Except Android USB devices "MY HTC" found on "Device Manager" in control panel, when i plug in my g1
And if i remove that driver and disable auto device driver installing on Vista..i get "USB Device not Recognized"
I just want to know is there any hope for my beloved Mistress G1 or no.
Thank you all for reading =]
Well if worst comes to worst put the apropiate dreaimg.nbh on sd card and power + camera button and wait whill will bring you back to 1.0 but only do that if you run out of options, as im sure there are other ways of fixing your g1 with going back to 1.0
Thanx alot for actually replying and helping..i had like 20-30 views and NO replies..
Umm yea i figured that was my last option when HBoot kept saying "Looking for dreaimg" on sd card. I really dont mind doing that..
but i much rather learn a better method if possible =]
Ok so i basically used HBoot to get back to 1.0(unrooted)
Please close this and thank you, xda
How to do this without going back to 1.0
I ran into a somewhat similar issue where I was unable to flash stock system images via recovery (key verification problems).
You can use fastboot to flash images via command prompt (if in vista/7 be sure to right click command prompt and run as admin):
fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-dream-v1.x.x.img
I used the 1.6 HTC Dev System (signed-dream_devphone_userdebug-img-14721) and Radio zip downloads (not the recovery one): h ttp://developer.htc.com/adp. html (don't have enough posts to be able to link url so cut/paste and remove space)
Unzipped the 14721 zip and manually flashed each of the four images to the device.
fastboot flash boot "C:\....\signed-dream_devphone_userdebug-img-14721\boot.img"
and same for recovery, system, and userdata
You can skip a step here by flashing the RA-dream recovery instead of the stock recovery.
If you have a different radio version, you need to rename the radio zip to update.zip, toss it on the sd card, boot into recovery, and flash the radio update zip to the phone.
Remember to wipe both caches, battery usage cache, and restore to "factory default" options in RA-dream before booting into Droid.
You should remember to wipe your caches in this manner every time you flash a new image. This includes resetting to "factory default" (clearing the userdata currently stored) since that one is easy to overlook and often causes things to not work exactly right if you still have data left over from a prior droid install.
It should also be possible to flash cryanogen or other versions via this method, if you have separate image files for each component to use with fastboot (like how the 1.6 dev images I linked to were split into solid .img files).
ok i set up ADB
Rooted the phone with Superboot
oem unlocked
flashed recovery-ra-nexus-v2.2.1
here's the problem
Next step i want to do is to install a custom rom.
So I try to do the following
"1. Download the ROM you want from our Nexus One ROMs section.
2. Turn off the phone.
3. Turn it back on by holding down Volume Down and Power until the bootloader screen comes up. Let it finish searching then select Recovery by using the volume buttons and click power to select.
4. Once the recovery screen comes up, select Nandroid Backup (to save a backup just in case, optional)
5. Then select Mass Storage On and plug your phone into the computer.
6. Copy the ROM .zip file to your phone’s SD card then unplug the phone.
7. Click USB MS Toggle."
Problem is i don't see nandorid backup, nor do I know where USB MS Toggle is located.
Rom is on my SdCard.
can i just flash Clockwork? :/
go for 4EXT. its the best out there nw.

www.4ext.net

4ext is nice I use it now. did use amon_ra for 2 years no issues
don't like clockwork
if you go 4ext bu's are in clockwork backup folder
usb toggle should be on first ra screen under reboot now
nandroids or "backups" are under "backup/restore", however you should see nandroid folder on sdcard
if you just flashed a new recovery for first time did you remove this file to allow your recovery to stick--/system/etc/install-recovery.sh may be no issue for you at this point.
I'll try these out...
NP hit our thanks buttons if we helped
I managed to get into recovery and flash a rom, BUT....after I successfully install the rom and reboot. I just get a black screen that leads to nothing :/
Oh and the led buttons light up when i press the power button
Propably you just didnt wipe data. The entry is called something like format data/factory reset.

Did you follow this on installing recovery and removing stock recovery image as mentioned above, you can also remove it with root explorer if it is on phone
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Nexus_One/Recovery_Images#Installing_a_Recovery_Image
try to pull/reinstall battery and see if it boots
did you wipe all 3x with amon ra before flashing, should do system too--
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/28338566/Extreme-wipe.zip flashes from recovery
and I like sdformatter to format card then partition 1gb ext4 0swap
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/28338566/SDFormatter 2.0.mht
if battery pull don't work, pwr off and press trackball and pwr at same time and see if you can get into bootoader. there you can get into recovery, rewipe all 3x and reflash rom
did you check md5 with a a file mgr like es file explorer
what a2sd are you using, I prefer Dark Tremor beta4, flash it after rom and reboot, reboot again then with terminal emulator run the DT scripts as mentioned on Op of thread
worse case go back into adb/fastboot window and reflash recovery as per above link, wipe, and reflash rom
you can even wipe phone and fastboot rom thru command window by extracting the roms system and boot images and placing on sd card where you had ra recovery and fastbooting them--little more complicated and no need to try yet
just some ideas for now--
britemb 1332
Ok this is exactly what I have done from the start
Oem unlock
flashed recovery-ra-nexus-v1.7.0.1 (because the later ones don't work) through superboot
Went into recovery
I had previously formatted the sdcard with sd formatter as you suggested
converted ext2 to ext3
converted ext3 to ext4
-Did NOT use Dark Tremor, cause idk how to use it (don't understand instructions)-
wiped with Extreme wipe
flashed rom - Bugless Beast
reboot
and still black screen-led buttons light up and turn on and off as i press the power button.
hope that gives you a better idea of what i have done.
still no luck
can you get back to your stock rom
that recovery is too old
if so try ext4 from market or a pre 3.0 clockwork
am not sure why amon 2.2.1 won't fastboot
i did not use superboot so not familiar with it
i set up sdk/adb/fastboot--oem unlocked--fastbbooted amon ra--then flashed a rom with superboot in it
did you remove stock recovery
are you fastbooting the recovery or going thru a terminal on phone
i cannot go into phone and into market (as phone won't load)
I did NOT remove stocke recovery (link to file is broken)
and I am fastbooting the recovery
not sure what's wrong
you do have sdk installed? and when you type adb devices and fastboot devices you do see phone ID--?
and your images you fastboot are in your fastboot.exe folder ie "tools" for
it must be all correct or couldn't have fastbooted old recovery--just asking
do you have a backup (nandroid) on sdcard and maybe even backup sdcard at this point--i put all by bu's on pc as soon as i bu to phone
not sure what the lights mean
can you boot in to fastboot screen as i mentioned above and see hboot you have--could be an hboot or boot partition issue
not sure i want to instruct you on that--you would have to get correct hboot to fastboot
here is amon 2.2.1 i used
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/28338566/AmonRa 2.2.1.mht
fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-passion-v2.2.1.img
Could try
1) Boot into fastboot and plug into your computer.
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-passion-v2.2.1.img
here is passimg link if you want to go back to stock and start over

I've done the Passimg method and nothing, still a black screen with the led buttons going on and off as you press the power button.
don't know--sorry
maybe google your problem
pull battery and leave out 15 minutes
try another battery
do you get vibrations when the screen goes off and any orange light
could be hardware
let's see what anyone else says

make very sure that you name the file PASSIMG.zip and not PASSIMG.zip.zip cos windows hadles the files such way.
after that reboot into bootloader (power+trackball) and then choose Bootloader by pressing power button. nw your phone should detect the passimg.zip and should be reverted back to stock.

I DID IT!
Sorry for not replying, I've been trying to fix this phone since I posted this thread.
Ok what I did is i for some reason got to this page:
http://www.machackpc.com/restore-your-nexus-one-to-its-original-shipping-image/
Weird thing is I've tried this procedure before with no luck. This time it worked? who knows.......
Thank you all for the help and support
glad you got it---
For Phone specs see signature.
I've damaged my display i.e. my LCD is broken so nothing is displayed but I can turn the phone on as my morning alarm does go off and the 'menu' and 'back' controls light up so board is functioning.
I have decided to sell it as is, so someone else can faff around with it if they want to repair it. What I need to do now is try and wipe my data off of the phone before selling.
BUT...I'm not sure what the steps are for the N7000. I have downloaded the Android SDK and ODIN. Have also seen these instructions elsewhere...
1. Download factory_reset.tar.md5
2. Open ODIN
3. put factory_reset.tar.md5 in PDA section and do not check/uncheck anything else...
4. Put your phone in download mode and connect it to PC..........................Not sure how to put the N7000 into download mode, tbh I had only ever heard of recovery mode. Instructions were as follows....
Volume down + home +power
That will lead to warning Page
Here you have to press volume up to enter download mode.
5. Hit start and it will flash and reboot.................................What exactly am I flashing here? I thought we were just wiping data why do I need to flash anything?
Is there another or better way of wiping the data or will the above work?
Thanks
What is the recovery you have? (before you say gain to check your signature, it states philz and running 4.2.2. So confused.).
Vol up + home + power for about 10 seconds should take you to recovery mode. Connect phone to pc and run adb devices. Check if the device is listed. Then using some Linux commands you can wipe data and your internal sd card.
About adb please Google.
Using odin, if you have the file you mentioned, (idk much about the file) but what it seems to do is when flashed using odin it will run flash a blank data & cache partiton thus performing factory reset. This will not wipe your internal storage.

Thanks for getting back to me. Never got 'adb devices' to work, don't know why. For the first time I've managed to get access to see my internal storage. As I had pattern security enabled on the phone I assume I must have managed to get into recovery mode and do what I believe was a factory reset.
Am I right in assuming my personal data i.e. contacts data has been deleted?
Don't know. What exactly did you do?
Hello
after i rooted my z3 compact and stuff i thought "hey, encrypting the data would be nice and safe" and did so.
after this i wanted to install some zip via recovery-mode and there are just errors telling me "cannot mount sdcard" and smth like that
i assume this is because the sdcard is encrypted.. .
did anyone know how i can use recoverymode again without flashing the whole firmware back again? oO
thank you
I have the same situation. Can't even enter recovery. You can copy paste files from the zip in the system with for example root explorer, set the correct permissions and reboot.
A working recovery would be better.
I'm on 6.0.1, rooted, locked bootloader and encrypted phone. Can't seem to enter recovery either. There's no green LED on phone reboot. Tried Power + vol up/down, no luck. Also volume up/down during boot, also nothing.
Is there no way to access recovery now?

There is a TWRP 3.0.2.0 for Z3c available here
Apparently it does work with encrypted partitions, but you will probably have to encrypt the phone after installing TWRP, so this won't help you out of your situation.
Edit: there is a manual install of TWRP compatible with MM, once in recovery you could flash the 3.0.2.0 version and restart to recovery, but I haven't tried this and you may well end up in a bootloop with an unreadbale encrypted partition.

for those of you who have a working recovery and encrypted data partition and SDcard, there are two ways of using it:
1. VIA ADB SIDELOAD: TWRP have a ADB sideload feature. it means you can flash .zips directly from your computer, connected to your phone wia USB cable. steps: 1. go to TWRP, search for ADB sideload feature and turn it ON, 2. connect your phone to your computer, 3. open terminal on your computer and type:
Code:
ADB sideload "path/to/your/file.zip"
. bingo!
2. VIA USB OTG: Z3c support USB OTG (On The Go) so you can connect your USB key to your phone via USB OTG cable. you put .zips you want to flash to your USB, connect it to your phone when in TWRP and flash them from USB instead of encrypted partitions.
So, i was flashing cm13 and everything went well until i did something stupid. I accidentally wiped the newly installed system because i thought it said 'wipe system cache' but it said 'wipe system' only. I was using cm recovery. I erased the zip file after i flashed so i dont know what to do anymore. Please help me!. i can still go into recovery and fastboot mode and thats all....
Push a ROM file through adb. In TWRP, there's an option called "adb side load". Use that.
Or mount OTG in TWRP to flash a ROM.
if you have TWRP, just turn it on using the specific combination of the keys. Then directly connect to the pc using the data cable and it will show the internal storage of your device. Copy the cyanogenmod 13 from your pc and flash it. Peace!!
Download tool in original android development thread and go into fastboot mode connect to PC and in tool chose option flash cm 12.1 .....it Dow. Required files than flash it by enter
And its done
Os file is approx around 1gb
