Will the Google edition be the same hardware configuration? - Sprint HTC One (M7)

The reason I ask is because although I love sense 5 when key lime pie is realeased I am going to want to try it. If the Google edition is the same hardware then wouldn't we be able to flash the Google version on our phones?
Sent from my HTCONE using xda premium

Without a port in short no...because that version will most likely be gsm only and not sprint so it will need to be tweaked. BUT...the Google edtion will speed up things like cyanogenmod a lot!

Well that's good but I know with the evo 4g ltd there was always issues with the Mic sound on cm10. Like people could never understand what I was saying. One person even thought my phone was being tapped because it sounded like there was another phone on the line lol. Has that been an issue with this phone? I just got it last week so I haven't gotten a chance to flash it.

My guess is it will come in ICS. At least I don't see why it shouldn't. I don't see the point of the NS 4G exclusive lasting much longer. At some point they are going to lose out on competition if they don't start getting this on NFC enabled phones.
I really hope it comes supported on all nexus s phones when ICS comes out for us so I don't have to flash a zip each time and can instead just get the updates from market

Well best of luck to you then. Not sure why your going to an iphone if you "need something to mod bigtime" though. Is there that much you can do to mod an iphone? Maybe I'm just uninformed. Also, sorry, I can hijacked your thread didn't I...
Sorry i wasnt very clear as i was driving lol. But the things that i like to do most with my phones im unable to do on this droid 4. One of my older phones was the htc hd2 and ran the core cell rom which was badass. Being that d4 will never see an unlocked bootloader means that modding will be minimum. I may be misunderstanding so please correct me if im wrong.

And hijacked? No not at all. Im trying to gather as much info as possible about what my future options may be with this phone if i were to keep it. I love everything about it. Iphone has an app via cydia called udidfaker that allows certain game players to run multiple accounts from one device. Android is unable as far as i know

There isn't actually that much that can be done with an iphone. Basically you have custom themes, jailbroken apps and free apps(if you're into that kind of thing) not much else.
As a motorcyclist, seriously, don't do it. I don't care if you wind up with an iPhone or a Droid4, but I don't want to wind up on your hood.
Honestly speaking i dont text and drive. I do service work and will usually wait till my next stop to even read them much less type and drive. I was just being silly. And i too ride. So everyone plz chill.

Sent from my DROID4 using xda premium
The MicroSim on the Droid is a LTE SIMcard. The SIM Slot on the iphone is only for use abroad. The iphone does not have 4G LTE capabilities. You might want to consider a new support forum to get all your questions answered on your iphone. Android power users don't like to deal with dumbphones.

LTE is a non-issue as this isn't a device sold with LTE support.
The sensors is from flashing the radio/baseband onto 4.2.1 builds. People will have to deal with it, or flash up to 4.2.2
These are not "problems" from Google as they are people causing it to themselves.

LTE wasn't approved by the FCC. Therefore, it wasn't mentioned as a feature of the phone.
The reason we could enable LTE was due to an oversight by LG or Google.
This update patches that oversight.
The phone is not suppose to carry LTE in first place. The fact that it works for some people whose carriers are on band 4 is bonus.
And issues, well those come with almost all phones. No point in defending any phone for things like this, but sadly things like this is part of almost any purchase of any thing. Forum like XDA is to get help, so you will get threads here about the problems. You will get far fewer threads which are there to praise the phone on daily basis. If you go to any device section here on XDA, you will get similar threads with issues some of the purchasers face. Those people are here to discuss those. THat sometimes paints the picture that phone is riddled with issues that everyone will face. It is hardly the case.
But if you still want to see enthusiastic threads, go checkout Indian nexus 4 thread That will show you cheerful side of things
Every hardware usually has some weak points, and hardware does break down. With the sheer number of devices sold, there will always be few that break down or are faulty. And you will find large number of those people finding their way here in search of solution. Relax, it is same with almost every phone.

There was a backdoor to get LTE if your provider had LTE on the AWS bands, the N4 was not approved or licensed to be used as an LTE device, it was just a matter of time before Google attempted to disable it. As for the other issues, it's incompatibilities between the new 4.2.2 stuff and 4.2.1 custom ROMs, this is why it's a bad idea to mix and match things like this, they aren't Google issues, all this stuff works just fine on stock 4.2.2 except LTE but that's not supposed to work.
If I understand correctly the radio issues happens only when you flash then on 4.2.1 correct? Then that's your problem, flash the full 4.2.2 and then if it's an issue that's a problem. Anyway I'm on paranoid android 4.2.2 and see no issues.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
Oh okay that clears a lot of things up then.
For some reason I thought people were already on 4.2.2 and having the issues didn't know they were still on 4.2.1 trying to flash the radio.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
I have a feeling the biggest reason they pushed this 4.2.2 update was to take care of the lte so there wasn't any big lawsuit ...
But then again they really didn't because people can just revert to the baseband before...lol

4.3

Is anyone else kind of annoyed about these other phones that are skipping 4.2.2 and going straight to 4.3? I know there won't be any major differences but I feel like we bought the latest and greatest but are getting shafted. Maybe I'm being anal, I just find it hard to believe they will update us to 4.2.2 and then 6 months later send another out for 4.3. Maybe I'm wrong. Thoughts anyone?

I really really like sense 5, I keep wanting to go to AOSP based Rom, but when I do I always End up missing certain things about sense, which is really weird cause I hated sense on my 3vo, and the more I think about it it's not a huge deal just wanted other people's opinion. And I suppose if I really wanted updates I could have gone with a nexus instead

Hardware is almost exactly the same
Also. Kernel has almost nothing to do with cellular connections, it specifies how the software should interact with the hardware and nothing else
