[Q] HTC One Stuck in bug fix_1 tool - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

As the title says, my phone is stuck on the bug fix_1 tool step when I was trying to update the software.
I woke up this morning, saw there was an update and this happened.
My phone (HTC One) is unlocked and rooted, so I'm not sure if I was even supposed to do this.
Can anyone assist me with rebooting it? Keep in mind, I don't really know the technical jargon and need really detailed steps.
Rebooting holding power or both power and either of the volume (or both) buttons has not worked.
Do I just the battery die?

[Q] S.O.S

Hey guys!
I got an HTC Hero a few days ago, i wanted to update the software but during the process when it was installing bootloader, it said error, then the phone turned off, and no reaction to anything since then.
Is there a solution for my problem?
Please help me if you know how to solve this!
Thanx!

Can you boot to recovery? Hold home + power on. What about fastboot? Volume up + home + power on?
There is an ruu around here somewhere if you need it
Sent by Logo the turtle
Here is the .5 rru,
rom.zip (rename to HERCIMG.zip to flash in hboot
and here is the .exe
HTC Sprint Hero MR 2.27.651.5.exe
compleated howetsi
As i said: "no reaction since then", i tried everything, no sound, no turning on, no recovery, not even a little vibration, nothing. It's like when the battery is absolutely dead, but it's fully charged, and brand new...
And one more thing, since the "accident", when i plug in the charger, the LED does not light, so i guess its not getting charged
Sounds like you might have ran an gsm ruu, can you post the link to were you got the ruu from? Or which ruu did you run?
#Root-Hack_Mod*Always\=LTE
The problem is much more bigger
So i gave the Hero to a guy who has a riff box, and he tried to fix it (he tried for a week, 2 or 3 times a day), but he couldn't even connect to the phone via the riff box, and he said when the usb cable is connected, the motherboard and the battery gets hot very soon.
Anybody got an idea what could be the problem?

[Q] Hard-Bricked G1

Hi there,
I fear I hard bricked my G1 (after long years of good service as gps device thanks to a 2600mAh battery).
Since it was quite slow on CM7, I downgraded it to CM6.1. But this would'nt boot. (boot loop)
So I did a bit of reading and decided to downgrade the radio too. I downloaded a flashable zip and flashed it the usual way in the CWM recovery - which didn't finish (after a few minutes), so I removed the battery.
Since then my G1 wont start any more. On top of that, it want event charge. If I try to charge it the status led wont event light up. (I already tried it with two different batteries, both yield the same results.)
Funny thing though: If I don't charge it and let it sit for a few hours, the status LED very shortly lights up when pressing the power button. (But other than this nothing happens and if I press the power button again shortly after the LED stays dead.)
So ... I fear the problem is hardware and not software related.
Does anybody have an idea what could be broken (software or hardware) and if it's software based if there's a way to revive my phone?
(Before anybody asks ... yes, I have newer android phones, but I really live my G1 for nostalgic value so if there a way to get it running again I definitely would try.)
thx a lot,
Bapf
Sounds like you need JTAG, and don't take this the wrong way, but flashing firmware isn't the usual way, its the way you brick your phone. If possible always use fast boot to flash firmware or you are asking for a brick.
You can buy the JTAG equipment yourself and the software is free. Or you can see if you can find someone locally to do it. Unless you have a particular sentimental value to this phone it maybe cheaper to buy a new one.... Sorry for bad news

Bricked G1 - Try Again w/ SIM Card IN!
I had the exact symptoms mentioned in this post - tried nearly everything until I finally put back in the SIM card (even through I don't have T-Mobile anymore) - it booted again and registers the AC adapter and/or USB cable. Hope this helps some who are struggling at this level as I did!!

I don't know if this will work,as I've never encountered a situation such as this, but have you tried bootloader(power button+camera button)?
If you can get it into bootloader, then I have the original rc29 DREAIMG.NBH file(plus, rc29 is the best place to start if you want to root it or install a custom rom).If you get it working and just want stock 1.6, i have those updates as well.
(all said out of hope, I have a g1 and I love it,I'm really glad that someone else shares my enthusiasm!!)
If bootloader works, give me your email and i'll send you the files, good luck!:fingers-crossed:
Nope. It won't even start the bootloader.

Well thats unfortunite, I guess it's just for a soft brick.

Cannot enter bootloader mode on HTC 8X GDR2

Hi everyone,
This is my first post so I hope you are kind enough to help me with this issue.
I have an HTC 8X Blue (bought it factory unlocked) and recently I have updated it to GDR2. It happened what many other HTC 8X's user had. It bricked when I was playing some music.
I found an article that has a solution allegedly (I cannot post the link but it is the most popular solution aparently). But my problem is that I cannot enter Bootloader Mode as one of the first steps requires. My phone is simply dead, I tried every combination of buttons (hard reset and soft reset), but non is responsive. Of course, my PC does not recognize it and when I plug it in to the wall the red light does not turn on!
I do not have experience in modding or flashing or what-ever process needed (for Windows Phone), but I do know pretty much for iOS so I can learn quickly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Your best option would be to get it repaired/replaced by a service center. If you're near a Microsoft store, they can take care of that for you. If not, it'll be trickier.
Otherwise, the only advice I can offer is to leave it for a while, let the battery drain entirely if you can, plug it in again, and try to start it... even if it won't boot normally, you may be able to access the bootloader mode now.
Thanks for the quick reply! I actually do not have a Microsoft Store as I live in Argentina...
I think i will try to drain the battery and restart it. Should I restart it the normal way? I mean by holding power button?
Yep, basically that.
You could also try calling HTC support and seeing if they have any other recommendations. The battery drain thing is basically just in case the phone got stuck in a weird state; resetting it that way may help.
is your phone stuck in QHSUSB_DLMODE i got my stuck there the other day. what i did was hold VOL UP, WOL DOWN and POWER all at the same time until the phone vibrated. wouldnt you know i unbricked my device.

[Q] Urgent help required (Device appears dead)

Hello,
This is my first time posting here, and I would like to request anyone on here to please assist me with the problem I am currently facing. I bought an unlocked, rooted HTC One with stock Android 4.3 installed as it's sole, primary OS this past summer. The person I bought it from is the one who actually rooted the phone, as my knowledge of such processes is fairly limited. I understand there are plenty of complications that I may run into dealing with this problem on my own and technical references may be lost on me, but I'm fairly competent enough to follow instructions from someone who may be able to help.
Here's the problem: I received an Android 4.4 OS update yesterday, which downloaded automatically and asked me if I wanted to install it. I thought the process would be fairly simple and I would not encounter any problems. However, when I asked the update to register and install, first it went into boot (I'm not certain which software was used for root), then the process started and everything seemed to be going fine until 'Patching files onto the whatever' came up and then it appeared that I encountered an error and the phone automatically went into what I can only assume is the bootloader menu? There were big Stock Android looking buttons on it which said things like Install, Root, Settings and a few others I don't recall. I tried to hit Install to see what happened and it brought me back to the part where 4.4 was supposed to be installed and I could read the error message at the end of it which said something like 'Error in patching files to zip folder or something', and I went back to the supposed bootloader menu. Confused and afraid, I think I pressed a button which I felt would allow me to reboot my phone and bring me back to my original 4.3 OS and that I would still be able to use my phone. First it said something like 'You no longer have root permissions', and there was an option where I could slide to apparently 'fix this', but I selected the 'don't fix' option as I obviously had no idea what I was doing. After this, the phone attempted to reboot, and a turquoise blue screen with strange markings came up on it and my phone hung. I killed the phone with the master power button and held it to switch off the phone.
BUT now, even since that has happened, my phone appears to be dead. It isn't starting up. When I put it on charge, the red LED doesn't show up. I have tried to used several ways to turn on my phone but it just wouldn't work.
I would like some light to be shed on this particular problem, and if anyone has experienced something similar to this, PLEASE, help me in fixing this. I am an eager learner and despite my limited, close to non-existent knowledge about dealing with a phone's OS, I know I can learn fast and follow instructions cleanly.
Please help me. Thank you.

[Q] HTC One Mini 2 Freeze in Charge-Screen

Hey Guys
Hope, some of you can help me. The problem is:
i bought a new HTC One Mini 2. Cause i had a Cyanogen 10.1 on my previous phone, i thought, that i should install a new CyanogenMod for this phone again. So i unlocked und flashed the Phone. As custom recovery i used TWRP 2.8.5.0... Found that one here in a Thread. After i flashed cm-12-20150411-NIGHTLY-memul.zip on it. After all, i started my phone again and all worked fine. i thought....
So yesterday i powered off my phone, plugged it to the charging-cable and went to sleep. In the morning i got up, picked my phone and wanted to turn it on. What i saw, was the charging screen, blink led is standing on orange and thats it. Cant power it off again, cant boot to recovery... nothing...
And the point is, i dont have the ultilities and the skill to open the phone and remove the battery to see, if that is the problem.
Do you have any ideas for that?? Thanks for leave an answer

I works again. was some buggy thing, i guess. A friend took my phone, did same combination that i did to boot in recovery mode and BOOM it reboots and work properly. So, i can't tell u a real solutions, but if you got same problem, keep trying with the POWER-Button and the VOLUME_DOWN-Button. Worked in my case.
Thread can get closed.

What he did was a hard reboot, accomplished by holding the power and vol-up buttons for about 10 seconds. Just wanted to add this.
Hey guys,
any solution to this problem??
Got the same issue. unlocked bootloader with htcdev, installed TWRP Recovery and rooted phone, everything worked fine yesterday.
Today I installed xposed framework, then I plugged-in the charging cable and turned off the phone because I wanted to flash xposed in Recovery. But when the phone turned off, it only showed the charging screen with the message ("This build is for development purposes only Do not distribute outside of HTC without HTC's written permission. Failure to comply may lead to legal action.") and didn't react to any button pressings until the battery finally died.
Then I plugged in charging cable again. Now I have again the charging screen, only difference is that the LED doesn't flash permanently but it now blinks. Computer recognizes phone but I can't send fastboot commands since it is turned off.
Any help would be appreciated!
EDIT: After a lot of tries, I finally also managed to fix it with 10 seconds power + volume up....
