[Q] Capacitive Button Lights on Maclaw CM10 Beta 1? - Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Any way to get the capacitive buttons to stay on whenever the screen is lit? The stock touchwiz had a setting, but not finding anything for Maclaw.

[Q] Touch Key's Timeout

Hi there, I'm using CyanogenMod nightly 181, and I was wondering if there was an app, or another way of changing the back light timeout for the 4 touch keys on the the front of the phone? Ideally I would like the keys to remain lit when the screen is illuminated. They keep going off whilst I'm using the phone and they are very hard to see when not illuminated.
I already use the great touch key notification feature of CyanogenMod. Thanks in advance. Anil

[Q] How wake up phone by capacitive buttons?

How can I get to wake up phone by capacitive buttons? I mapped "search" key to "power' in keylayout => it can turn off screen, but can't wake up. What can I do?
In theory there are hardware buttons, so is limited by software. How to disable that?
Well, the softkeys aren't actually "hardware-buttons" like VolUp/Down and GKey, i think. For me it would be very surprisingly if it works. I doubt it.
Waking up the phone bye proximity sensor (responsible for making the screen dimmed when phoning) would be very nice, in case od the phone just lies on the table and you want to do sth quickly.
Unfortunatly i didn't find an app or sth similar which can do this.
Any suggestions?
EDIT: I found an apps called "tap tap app".. doesn't work properly on cm nightly 70 though..

I now that - Pocket Sensor =) It work on CM, tested on P970 & P500. I don't used it because i want to wake up phone manually)
I think it also related with the driver at kernel stage... so the Vol Up/Down and G-Key are supposed to be mapped at the driver.. But I don't know about capacitive buttons, perhaps it can also remapped..

Read thread about remapping g button. There are at least two.
Hi guys, I know this is an old topic but I am looking for same solution that I know works because I have been using this method on my Galaxy S2 (t989) with HellKat rom.
With Hellkat rom installed on a Galaxy S2 (t989) aka Hercules, you can touch all capacitive buttons in one particular order only which is from left to right.
You first touch the options button then home, back and search button. As soon as search button is pressed the device wakes up.
I am now running Lollypop and am wondering if this was a function possible through an app?

Press home and power button together, it is working on LR6 4.0.4 and should work on all 4.0.4 roms.
Check this thread for more info.
1. possibility: slide with palm of your hand frombright to left on the screen
2. Possibility: Touch the screen with the pen for a few seconds while pressing the little button on the pen.

1. Yep, with the edge of your hand, sweep the screen from right to left..
Option 2: press and hold the button on the spen and place it anywhere on screen... Keep it there and it would take the shot in about 1-2 seconds...
Im using any of those steps and im on the latest 4.0.4 stock rom with notecore kernel..:highfive:
:good:

Capacitive Button Backlight Mod?

So i'm not really digging the timing on the backlights of the capacitive buttons. You know how on the SGS3, there's an option to set the duration for 3 seconds, 6 second or always? I'd like to do something similar. I can't seem to locate any apps or mods that would allow me to tinker with these settings. Anyone have any recommendations or solutions?
Thanks
I noticed yesterday that after 2 days with my phone , that the capacitive buttons do not light up when touched. Is that normal?

[SOLVED] Weird screen off/lock screen bug?

My missus' 4x has the latest cm10.1 release and werewolf kernel installed.
When she presses the power button to lock the screen it goes off, then weirdly lights back up on the lock screen until it times out to black again.
Anyone know how to stop this weird extra lighting up glitch?

Sounds like a wakelock issue - might be worth checking a logcat.

Not wakelock.
Issue 1: CRT Animation is derped, go to settings>Display>CRT Animation OFF.
Issue 2: Dodgy Hardware and Lock button is registered as a double press (Unlikely)
Isuue 3: Just Bad Rom in general, a video wouldve been nice thou tbh, bad explination.
Issue 4: In security have power button instantly locking the screen.
Soloution, install XPOSED FRAMEWORK, install XBLAST TOOLS, play with the settings a bit idc, find CRT animation and select remove alltogether.
I've just changed the animation, so I'll see how that goes first! Thanks!

Ok option 1 didn't work! I'll try option 4 and xposed later today

I noticed the same problem today after i flashed OP 2.7.. I turn the screen off, the CRT animation shows but after that, for about a second, there is like a dimmed light on the screen and then it dissapears.. I am on Carbon 4.3. and I didnt have that issue on its stock kernel. I tryed shutting CRT animation off and in settings set "non delay" but it didnt help..
This happens to me on every ROM I try. Stock and CM.
Solved! It's an app that requires root permission but has not yet been given it! In my case it was terminal emulator! Opened it. Typed su and enter to force it to ask for root permission and gave it. No problem since!
