Hi Guys,
So i've been away from flashing ROMs for awhile but have been playing with my HTC one and have had no issues until today.
I downloaded the new ARHD, put it on my SD card and went to install it. Aroma played nice for once but as soon as it started installing and doing the full wipe the phone rebooted. So i tried again with the same result. In the end i passed by the full wipe option and managed to get to the final step of rebooting and then it would freeze which it did 3 times.
Now i can see the ROM but i can't mount the SD card in CWM to put anything else on there so my phone is useless. I am not really experienced with ADB having only used it briefly with my sensation a few years back.
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance
connect phone to comp, open cmd in folder that you have rom on computer (cd/location/here/rom.zip) then do (as long as you set up adb correctly) adb push rom.zip while selecting flash rom from sideload. cwm will do the rest.
I think all that happened was Aroma crashing every time. Correct me if I'm wrong but that's what it sounds like to me.
Hi,
I cannot get the phone recognized in fastboot, if i let the phone start to boot i can see my device.
Sorry if this isn't clear

If it got all the way to the "Reboot Phone" stage--meaning that the phone wiped and installed the new OS--you should be fine to boot the phone up normally. I'm sure you have, but have you tried just powering it up and seeing if it'll load into Android? Reminder: First boot after a new ROM always takes a few minutes.
Hey guys,
So i ended up continuing to flash it trying various options and eventually it came up ok... The scary thing was the random reboots during install whilst aroma was trying to wipe everything...
But all sorted, thanks everyone!

I've been looking all over this site but I can't find anything. I suppose that it's partly because I'm not sure about the problem myself.
A couple of months back (maybe more) I upgraded to the ICS infinitum rom (blue version) with midnight kernel. It was great - the phone worked fine. Well I'm exaggerating, it ****ed up every once in a while. Programs would automatically shut down and it would get really slow after a while. But all in all it wasn't bad, and it was stable enough for me most of the time....
Then, last Thursday everything seemed to go apart, every program on the phone was shutting down. So I thought I'll just restart and it will be fine. When I did, the phone did not come back on. the kernel would load and then it was stuck on the start-up animation in infinite loops.
Now, to be frank, this isn't the first time this has happened. So I didn't panic. Last time I just used the CMW recovery to re-install the kernel and the rom (I keep the files on the sd card). But this time, I wanted to try to avoid the factory wipe for as long as I could, and try finding a different option, knowing that if all else fails, I have something to revert back to.
Then I did the mistake of deleting the init.d file without re-installing anything. I wanted to, but accidentally clicked on the 'reboot now' option. And then all went to ****. The kernel didn't load. I went to recovery and it couldn't mount the sd card so I couldn't re-install it.
I tried flashing a new kernel using odin, and it did get me a bit better: my CWM recovery can read the sd. However, I still can't mount the system. Even worse, when I get to the infinitum zip roms and re-installing it brings up the status 7 error (which, after searching, seems to come up for different reasons for each person)
Despite installing a new kernel, when I reboot the phone now it doesn't load the kernel anymore, it just stays stuck on the welcome screen. I tried using the recovery to re-install a different kernel, it worked, but the phone still won't start - it now automatically skips to the recovery mode. I don't know if I should try flashing a rom through odin, and I'm too afraid to try anything at all now...
Can anyone help me? Is there any way to restore the init.d file or maybe that has nothing to do with my problem?

I suggest flash 3-file GB rom via odin with ticked re-partirion and phone bootloaderupdate.
First of all init.d has nothing to do with the boot of kernel and ROM itself. It's just like autostart in Windows, so if it's missing it shouldn't cause problems.
My solution is to flash a complete stock Gingerbread ROM using Odin. You can get them at sammobile.com. Then afterwards flash a custom kernel and then whatever you like.
If you need help, feel free to ask me

Yes! Thank you! That worked!!
It happened again! just 10 days later.
Is the Infinidtum rom ****ed up in any way?
it's stuck on the loading part of the rom
Ok, so i upgraded htc vivid to new ics through official ruu.exe whatever file that is. From there i unlocked bootloader flashed boot image and Paranoid 4.1.2 rom. Phone was great until today when i started to move music files from pc to phone. would shut down and restart by itself......every five minutes or so. Now, if i turn the phone on at all it is constantly in this boot, run fortyfive seconds, reboot again, dreadful cycle. So now i am trying to get back to stock if i can. i first tried to flash a new rom, cm10 nightly to be exact. NO LUCK! still boots into paranoid and dreadful reboot cycle continues. Now, i am looking to go back to stock but when i run "fastboot oem lock" fails and phone remains "unlocked" in fastboot ui. What in the world do i do? I read very thoroughly, have even had to learn to push my zip and img files through adb because my sdcard or internal_sdcard wil not mount in recovery. Recovery is not CWM or TWRP but i can not remember which it is
"RA REVAMPED
Build : Made for WCX ILLUMINATE SERIES by GINM"
blue lettering.....
any help would be greatly appreciated.
:crying::crying::crying::crying:
Note.......Vivid runs allot longer when transferring files from PC. Has been running now approximately 4 minutes no problems. Files still moving though....i will wait and see what happens after file transfer completes.
Yep!!! Just shut down again...but definately runs longer when transfering files...very confusing to me....
You must have the WCX recovery. What RUU did you flash exactly? If you could give me a link to it that would be great
Official att ruu.

my phone is running paranoid android though from this thread.

it is having a problem wioth the sd card i beleive. When i attempt to go to gallery is shuts down. when i go to music it shuts down. when i try to uninstall juicedefender it shuts down. Excited to get a response and look forward to getting some help thank you!
Also let me add.... i have tried a full wipe sdcard and internal_sdcard included but each time i try all contacts photos screen widgets and my user specified settings remain intact on phone. i would imagine that after this full wipe i would have a fresh clean phone. NOT THE CASE! Very weird
Might try flashing a diff recovery (TWRP) and wipe install, see if that works. Then you can go back to the WCX and test that again.
ok tried cwm recovery from fastboot to no avail still stuck on previous recovery. phone wont stay on long enough for goo.im to download or run twrp recovery. i really have no clue what the issue is. I also downloaded tapatalk was able to use it for about 2 inutes then phone shut off rebooted itself and tapatalk is no longer installed. i am stumped! No help either...........:silly:

Maybe you have a crap battery...
Maybe your sim card isn't making good contact...
Maybe your external SD card is borked...
First... try removing your external SD and boot...
Second try removing your sim card and see if it boots...
Finally... try another battery and see if that fixes it to the point it stays on...

Hi all,
Last night, i rooted by N7000 through PhilZ-cwm6-DDLSC-ODD-5.08.5-signed and was successful in doing that.
Later i wanted to update my device to 4.2.2. So i downloaded cm-10.1-20130727-NIGHTLY-n7000.zip file and kept in my external SD card.
Then in recovery mode,i wipe the factory data. There was option wipe data or wipe to install new ROM. I selected the latter one. Wipe for installing new om was successful. Then i went to update zip.file option. But since the file was in external sd card, it was not detected and i was not able to select the file. Then i rebooted the phone but only 'Samsung galaxy N7000' screen was coming and nothing was happening.
I rebooted my phone many times but same screen was coming. Then in morning i went in advance options. I selected Recovery Bootloader. Downloading screen was coming and nothing was happening. Then i switched my off and trying to start in recovery mode but its not starting.
I thin i have no checked USB debugging.
Kindly help soon as i am helpless without phone. Your early response will be highly appreciated.
With the option "install new Rom" you removed your old Rom from your device. So it is only logical that your device won't boot into it.
Next time follow the installation instructions given in the CM-thread exactly.
And of course you can choose a zip from external sd card in CWM. So take a look again.
Best thing to do for you: boot into download mode, install a stock Rom with PC Odin and use it without changing things.
Hey Thanks for the help. But now i am facing new problem.
I flashed my phone using odin with stock rom.
Later i rooted with PhilZ-cwm6-DDLSC-ODD-5.08.5-signed and then updated it with cm-10.1-20130727-NIGHTLY-n7000.
This time i was successful. My phone was updated to 4.2.2.
Then i used it for some time and switched it off for removing the external SD card. After that i tried to switch on my phone, its not working.
Nothing is appearing on screen. I charged it and then tried to switch it on but nothing is coming on screen.
When i try to switch on my phone in Recovery mode or in download mode a thin line on the screen appears and then disappears and then nothing comes on screen.
Help please. Last suggestion worked.Kindly advise
I need help badly. I was trying to do a FULL system wipe from CWM including SDcard and then sideload my install from adb. But something went horribly wrong because as soon as I hit format sdcard the phone shut down and now has NO access to the SDCard so I can't install any roms or anything because as soon as the installer tried to access the SDcard the phone crashes and reboots. I don't know what to do. Am I screwed or is there some way of recovering the SDCard again in this phone?
Also this is a Rogers HTC One and afaik there is NO RUU for this phone yet. Need help urgently.

Dude that's not going to help me. Read what I wrote. The SDcard is screwed up and as soon as anything tries to read or write the sdcard the phone crashes....I have no problem sideloading a zip to the phone it's when it tried to install that the phone crashes EVERY TIME.
Also TWRP recovery does NOT work on this phone now because TWRP tries to access the sdcard when it loads. CWM will load up but cant install a rom because the SDcard is somehow bricked and I need to know if theres a way to fix it.
Ok and now I apologize because it turns out sideloading DID work after all BUT. I had to sideload a NON aroma installer ROM (cyanogenmod) to the phone. Cyanogenmod was able to finish the install somehow without crashing the phone mid-way through the install and once it was booted up the SDcard portion of the phone was no longer corrupted and crashing the phone. I am able to access it in CWM and TWRP again without crashing .
So if anyone else out there has this same problem where they clicked "format SDcard" in CWM or TWRP and all of a sudden your phone constantly crashes when it does ANYTHING to access the SD card. Try sideloading cyanogenmod onto the phone and THEN go back and wipe again to install the ROM you wanted (in my case ViperOne). I thought for SURE my phone was a goner. I couldn't do anything but then finally decided to try sideloading CM 10.1.3 just for shi*s and giggles and it WORKED my phone is saved
So today I was preparing to flash another ROM, so I connected my phone that was on a Sense ROM (OMJs v1.8) and began to delete folders on the phone from my computer. Once I did that I copy and pasted the latest gapps and CM nightly onto the root of my phone. All of a sudden my phone rebooted and would not stop, right in the middle of the file transfer. I did not flash this rom after it copied because the phone began to reboot mid-paste. However, I had recently just installed philztouch custom recovery so I thought that the recovery was the problem. I then installed TWRP through fastboot. Keep in mind I couldn't even access my recovery. Everytime I tried, the recovery screen would show up for a second and reboot. No matter which recovery I tried, my phone could not reboot recovery. So here I had a phone that still has my OS installed and in tact..but for some reason randomly rebooted out of nowhere, continued to reboot over and over again, couldnt even boot recovery or the actual OS. I had no idea what the problem was. When I finally calmed down and got recovery to boot philz touch, every time I tried to perform a simple wipe, the phone would stop mid wipe and reboot. Luckily I got recovery to consistently reboot and I finally got a ROM to install through recovery (not adb sideload). My question is has anyone else experienced this? And does anyone know why this happened?
