Little bit of help! - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

First if all i have unlocked my bootloader and rooted my device.
I have flashed a few custom roms, all being AOSP based roms.
I am having trouble going back to sony based roms...
I did a full format of everything and tried to flash eXistenZ Black Edition v3...
I am stuck with a boot animation...
I'm having a little trouble using flashtool (i cant find xperia Z drivers) but it still picks up that my device is a c6602 and that it is connected.
Everytime i try to flash a stock unbranded .FTF rom i get "No loader found" or "Error preparing files"
Can i flash a ROM using fastboot or will i need to use flashtool?
And any reason why i cant use flashtool?
Help would be thoroughly appreciated as i love this device but i am used to my SGS2 ( alot simpler when flashing between touchwiz and AOSP)
Thanks in advance!

You need flashtool beta4 or beta6.
Remove and reinstall flashtool.
Try another firmware.
Try excluding TA while flashing.
You can also go back to stock by using emma from sony but read the instructions on there website.

Hi all...
My friend sent his X8 to a phone shop to get it updated to android 2.3.7 and ended up with a bricked phone cause by that phone shop.
Now, which according to him stuck at the white "Sony Ericsson" logo...Which i know is a soft brick and most probably can be saved by flashing it with PCC or SEUS or FlashTool.
I have ask him to flash it with SEUS or FlashTool, but not successful, still stuck on the SE logo, i doesn't know weather he do it wrongly or does not has any patient...
I gonna buy this phone from my friend, and repair the phone myself.
I want to ask u guys is there any other reason for the phone to stuck at the SE logo other than bricked phone? Could it be a hardware prob?
8/6/2012 UPDATE:
Just now my fren turn on the X8, it stuck at the white "Sony Ericsson" text, and after a moment, the phone reboot itself and stuck at there again and reboot itself again and again...

I dont really know bout the condition. Usually works with seus or flashtool. Maybe something has been changed, like kernel or/and baseband. Maybe u would need to flash stock kernel and baseband too. Try flashing them and hope it ll work.

3. Root
4. Unlock Bootloader(surely must depend on your manufacture number)
5. Flash Custom kernel

Revert to Stock Kernel & ROM issue!

Hi Guys,
I have my x8 phone running on nAa's latest v6 kernel with ZenceFil ROM(GB 2.3.7) with ofcourse an un-locked bootloader. But now i want to move back to stock settings.
I had made a backup using xRecovery before installing these mods, so my question is, how to I restore that xRecovery backup along with the stock kernel which i already got from the unlock bootloader thread??
I tried flashing the stock kernel but then the phone just get's stuck in the boot logo page with Sony Ericsson logo, can't even open the recovery, which i guess is not included in the stock kernel file.
I tried installing xRecovery by copying its files to /system/bin but still i have CWM as recovery!
Please advise...
p.s. I saw this thread, but the solution provided there is not working for me as PCC is not helping, it juts say's no s/w found for your device. Also I don't want to lock the boot loader.
Flash stock 2.1 trough flash tool>root it>instal xrecovery and then restore backup.

I have downloaded the stock 2.1 rom but how do i flash a ROM using flash tool? I don't see that option..
Flash it like kernel.
Sent from my GT-P3110 using Tapatalk 4
NAA6 is using difrent system-data partition size. If you want to move to other kernel you need first boot into cwm and format data and system partitions, then flash other kernels.
You can also flash your phone with SEUS and you will have stock rom-kernel like you had when you bouth the phone (if your bootloader was unlocked SEUS will leave it unlocked).
Stock rom and kernel you can flash using Flash Tool, just move the ftf file (for exemple 2.1.1.C.0.0.ftf) move this to the FIRMWARE flashtool' folder. Open flash tool and click on the "lightning" icon, (on old version click on flash) and select flash mode. Turn off the phone and flash it like a normal kernel.
But the stock rom that i downloaded has no ftf file! It's a normal backup have 4 .img files.. how do i flash that?

You could use SEUS. It will install the newest firmware for x8 and it won't relock bootloader (for me it don't relock it), but you have to root your phone and install xrecovery one more time.

Go to c:\flashtool\firmwares\ and delete "prepared" folder. - That's only firmware files prepared every time for flashing.
Restart your PC and open flashtool (right click and open it as administrator.
Make sure you have at least 1Gb of free space on your disk where's flashtool is located.

Xperia Z1 Bricked

Hi guys I seriously need help. I bricked my Z1 c6903. I accidentally deleted the OS by wiping dalvik, system, etc,. Im sorry if this was already posted somewhere here. Im new to this. If someone would kindly help me or give me help in unbricking my device Id really appreciate it.
PS, Z1 was given to me already rooted. It has TWRP recovery, and I know that Im really stupid for tinkering with the advanced option. Im new to using custom recovery, rooting, etc.

If you still have recovery , boot into recovery, mount usb and copy ROM from your PC.
Flash ROM and restart...
If you don't have recovery, use flashtool to flash ftf. (534) root it and then upgrade to 761 (latest firmware)
BTW, your device isn't bricked, there's missing system, that's all...
And yeah...that wasn't stupid at all...this things happens and, if you ask me- TWRP team should change that wipe options...
It's not well made...
First option should be only cache wipe and advanced should have format data and system option...

I tried booting to recovery but it wont. Its stuck in the sony logo. I guess ill go with option 2(flashing ftf)
is it ok if I flash the ftf then NOT root it?
I found a guide how to flash an ftf file in this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2428319
is this guide applicable for the z1 too?
Thank you

You are welcome mate
Yeap...
One thing is very important - use latest flashtool..and everything will be OK.
You'll be surprised how easy that is...
Flash firmware 534 (JB)
Turn device off, open flashtool and prepare 534 firmware, start flashing and connect device (holding vol down) connect device when flashtool ask for it, don't do that right away...
root it with binary method (just Google" binary root method xda") first link is what you need.
Install NUT recovery.
Restart to recovery, flash NUT 757, TURN DEVICE OFF!!!
And flash stripped ftf (that's kernel)
It's very important to turn device off, don't restart. (to flash stripped ftf)
I always practice to hit flashtool "start" button and wait for flashtool to ask for device, that's is the best way to be 100% sure your device won't leave flashmod

Man, I asked you do you still have recovery and you said no?!?
Use recovery to flash stock based ROMs like NUT or iHackers, flashtool or pc companion to flash stock unrooted firmware.
It won'tbe a problem if you have twrp (recovery), it'll wipe everything...

[Q] Xperia T Back to Stock from Custom Firmware

Hello there,
quick noob question: I have a Xperia T with custom firmware obviously with unlocked bootloader,
I want back to sony stock, I only need to flash with flashtool? or I need to do another "special" flash procedure in order to get back to the stock firm? (flash kernel first or something like that?),
Thanks in advance

Just download the stock rom in .ftf fornat and flash it via flashtool (in flashmode - green led) and it should automatically wipe all data if you keep the default settings
