Hi,
Im aware that when one decides to go with another launcher you lose the stock widgets. Im using nova but I really miss the stock clock and weather. Ive used all the other widget apps (bw,hd icons etc etc) but I find its still not as nice as the stock. Is there a way I can flash it over the nova launcher?
I use nova for the scrollable dock and customizable transitions thats all, so what if it were the other way around....could I just used the scrollable dock and customizable transitions on stock launcher, if there was such a way??
Hasn't happened in the three years I've been on Android - won't happen now.

Yeah, its what I figured... I thought there be some sort of possibility as I dont see this feature talked about very much and correct me if Im wrong but it cant be a huge job to integrate this into stock launcher, right? I finally have a phone graphically powerful enough to run scrollables and transitions flawlessly...yet it cant be customized on stock? Maybe Im dwelling on a tiny feature too much,,,,

Go launcher ex. It has a sense theme you need to install and it allows you to use the sense widgets. It's highly customizable and allows for a LOT of options. I also added their lockscreen add-on and notification icon add-on. You'll have to play with it to get it like you want it but it let me keep the sense and add screens and scroll effects.

Definitely agree with Go Launcher Ex - It took me a long time to figure out all the customizations but once you do, it's great...

Thanks for that, Im checking it out. It looks good and as you said, there's a little playing around with it. However I cant seem to find the sense 5 theme? there are tons of sense widgets and older themes...could you point me in the way of finding it?
Thanks!
It's in the theme section within the app which will take you to the play store to install it you could search fit sense 5 theme in the store. Should come up.

If your into Windows phone look, the stock HTC widgets do work with Launcher 8. I found that last week playing with Launcher 8 that all Sense widgets show up that you can make into tiles.

Im actually very surprisingly liking the windows 8 style on this phone. Im wondering if you could use the window 8 tile screen in place of the blink feed on stock launcher or any other for that matter?, that would be pretty cool. Im not sure what you mean by using the widgets as tiles? However I am still playing around with it
EDIT: I see what you mean with widgets as tiles, pretty cool. Thanks

This is a little mod I did for @TeeJay3800 on Twitter (I believe it is the same for here on the forums), that tries to capture the look of the HTC Sense launcher.
Attached you will find a .zip. If you unzip you should be presented with:
Sources.zip
Launcher
-----SenseLauncherDonut.apk (Install if using Donut)
-----SenseLauncher.apk (Install if using 2.x)
Themes
-----SenseOld.apk (Screenshot below)
-----SenseHero.apk (Screenshot below)
-----Sense.apk (Pretty much a theme to add Sense Icons, screenshot below)
The only requirement for this is that you do NOT have the market version of ADW installed.
I think it goes without saying that regular ADW.Themes will NOT look correct with this modded launcher. However, included in the Sources.zip are the sources to my themes, I look forward to what you guys come up with.
Credits: Klinster, Anderwebs, HTC, TeeJay3800, Binary100100, Google, Cyanogen, Manup456, and I'm sure in some obscure way that I should thank Antoine Dodson.

Glad to see you're finally posting this on XDA!
For anyone who wants to complete the Sense look and doesn't already know how, you'll want:
- Community Hero Mix (system theme)
- Weather & Toggle Widget with Forecast Addon and H7C Clock skin/H7C Weather skin
When all is said and done, your home screen will be an exact clone of HTC Sense for MDPI devices. Nice job JAguirre!
I'll download and try it out tonight. Good job!
I like the taskbard/notification bar... where did you get it?
JAguirre1231 said:

As the title says, this is MDPI-only (as of right now, hope to get HDPI done when I have free time).
To use, download the .zip and extract. Inside you will find four items.
Install the Sense.apk (This is the theme that will give Sense icons, it is not required if you prefer whatever icons you are already using).
Install or push the ADWLauncher.apk. The way I've been doing it is by using
Code:
adb install -r /path/to/ADWLauncher.apk
or
adb push /path/to/ADWLauncher.apk /system/app/
However, a simple install from the phone /should/ just work.
With the adw_settings.xml and adb_backup.db, place them on the root of your sdcard and use ADW's Restore feature to import them (I'm sure there is an easier way, but I fail).
I think it goes without saying that regular ADW.Themes will NOT look correct with this modded launcher.

As close to Sense as possible. The far left button opens the app drawer, the middle button brings up phone and the far right button brings up ADWSettings (Because I lack the coding abilities to bring up the 'Add to Home Screen' dialog).
Other than the add button (now the settings button) and the scrolly bar on the dock bar, I haven't come across anything else that's not Sense-like.

And now, the paint-thingy button! Just a preview for those interested, that button will soon be updated to the style seen on the new Desire HD and Z.
what's the deal with sense look-a-likes anyway? i played it once. then i analyzed the interface mechanics, deduced that the rest of the interface would be pretending the music player and nice lockscreen were there wasn't worth it and sat my phone down.
i hear there is something to do with getting middle school girls to lose it to you when they see a cool looking phone in later years? sounds hilarious and repetitive.
i guess i just don't understand being addicted to a impressing lil' honies.
So the only possible reason someone could prefer the Sense look is to impress underage girls? With that reasoning, I can already tell you're not someone worth discussing anything with.

It's like ADW meets MIUI. I loved the fact that I could have 5x5 on my launcher screen, but it contributed to my phone freezing. Might look into it after the kinks are worked out, but not till then.....

Haha what? They're both launchers yes. Its not a rip anymore than Touchwiz is a rip of adw
Captivating
Please add option to hide home icon at the bottom and tabs on the top of app grid (and extend grid to 4x6 or 5x7)
It would be nice to be able to reduce swipe actions sensitivity. I use phone with resistive screen so wrong swipes instead of clicks are often.
p.s. folders in app grid on HVGA screen looks ugly Its hard to visually separate them from other icons
I was liking this launcher, but it loses the widgets on every screen every so often...but ALWAYS on a reboot..so its kind of a pain

So far, other than the nifty new animations, app drawer, presets, it looks the same as the free ADW.Launcher which I currently use and my favorite. More than likely I'll buy it, once I finish watching the video.
Differences between ADW.Launcher and ADWLauncher EX
ADWLauncher EX is based on the ADW.Launcher opensource code with a lot of new additions and improvements, like for example:
5 different app drawer styles/behaviors
3D Nexus One like applications drawer
2 different plain vertical applications drawers styles, the “old one” and a new fast and smooth one
2 different Iphone-like horizontal applications drawers, a traditional paginated one and a new one with continuous fling
Different desktop transitions (8 at the moment): new animations while navigating through your desktop screens. Try them all, they’re crazy!!!
New Icons configurations/look and feel: Tweak your desktop icons, change its sizes, add coloured backgrounds, change font size, color, etc!
New fast presets mode: Quickly change the whole desktop configuration by 1 click!
Editable desktop icons for applications, shortcuts and folders!
Lots of code improvements
More, more more to come!!

Probably new shrug. Try backing it up and see if it works.
It worked! but you have to rename the original adw.launcher backup file to the EX backup file.
ADW.Launcher backup files:
adw_launcher.db
adw_settings.xml
Rename both to adw_ex_launcher.db and adw_ex_settings.xml
Course you'll need to readd your widgets though. But most of the settings transfer over.

You need to swipe down on the dock itself. Put an app in that 2nd dock, it'll make it easier.
Hm... LP still seems smoother to me. And LP still doesn't feel as smooth as it does on my N1 or Vibrant... guess I'll have to wait for a gingerbread compatible LP.
I found a version of the Sony Xperia Arc Launcher that works on all Galaxy S models. I have tweaked it to remove unimportant little things, and make it transparent, and a few other things that I hope you enjoy. It is lightweight and simple, it works as a better alternative to a similar to stock (Touchwiz) look, its minimal and incorporates a sexy transparent theme to it. Also, it has the option that uses FOLDERS, like the iPhone and MIUI. Thanks to backhead92 for the modification to fit our phones from here. For those of you who hate lag, this launcher does not lag at all in the home screen mode or in the app drawer, nonvoodoo. I'm sure it's even faster with Voodoo. Hope you like the little modifications.

I've been thinking about it but I'm really busy with my last semester of college and job offers. Once I get this job and graduate I'll most likely put a good chunk of time into compiling roms together. They'll most likely be similar to Adrynalyne's roms but have great themes. As of now though, I don't have much time or the knowledge to develop a successful rom. Thanks for your support though.
Is there anyway to use custom icons for the folders? I've been messing around with this for a couple days and my main complaint is that the stock folder icons are boring. Pretty cool launcher though, thanks for posting.

Would an icon pack change the default icons of various apps or provide more templates to choose from in the folder section?
Not really sure as to what icons would be good. I'm running mob's honeycomb theme so anything that works with that would be cool. I know someone posted all the default honeycomb icons in this forum recently and I could link those if you'd like to use them.

Any help would be appreciated... : D
Sounds like this launcher will run really fast on slower devices, eg HTC Legend.
I will try this on a normal Galaxy S (I9000).
It looks pretty good, actually looks alot like my custom GTG launcher.
1) It has 5 homescreens instead of 7, no biggie.
2) The app launcher has 3 action buttons (alphabetical order, home button, edit mode) on the bottom (my launcher just has the home button, normal TouchWizz has the App-toolbar on the bottom).
3) Q: Does it have a landscape mode?

I noticed this in the facinate forums maybe THIS could help someone to port it over? Its for CM7 but on the fascinate, i cant imagine that phone being all to different than our phones especially with it running the same rom, but im no expert, lol. If anyone can port this that would be sweet or if its already been done please point me in that direction because ive been searching and cant find anything. I can provide the .mtz file from miui with all of the code and images for the fivepoints lock screen if needed. Just let me know if there is anything i could do to help

That's a really nice lockscreen indeed... Unfortunately I have no experience with designing lockscreens, but I can point you to the direct of Magiclocker. It's a free app in the market that replaces the lock screen with some pretty nice looking lockscreens, many of them are also freely available in the market.
One that comes to mind and looks a bit like it is the ICS lockscreen (Android 4 Theme for Magiclocker).
If anyone ports your lockscreen there though, I'd be happy to use it

Place "REQ" before your thread title so people know it's a request and not an available app.
NS4G NSCollab Sprint 1.0.51, Matr1x 9.0, Shady Arctic Blue Theme
looking amazing
GO's new GO Locker has a 4 point theme if you use Go Launcher EX
It doesn't have a customizable background option yet but I'm sure it's coming because of high demand, plus Go Locker is really new.

Having the MIUI lockscreen on CM7 would be tops.
The closest thing I've found on the market outside of utilizing launchers, is Ripple Lock - tried it, meh! Don't really rate it!

Yeah I use all of the stuff too Go launcher, go sms, All the go widgets, fb,twitter, calender, messages, contacts. They really know how to make a product. And the fact that they are all free is awesome. There stuff is the best. The best launcher on the market imho.

4 custom apps? I believe with ring lock screen you can only have one. The other two are to unlock the phone and toggle silent mode. If you set the lock screen style to sliding tab you can have 4 tabs, but again only one custom app with the other 3 being unlock, silent and phone.
Again, I could be wrong because I haven't flashed the latest nightly yet
But I do love the ring lock screen and highly suggest it
Widgetlocker has a modified ICS lockscreen that allows 4 custom shortcuts as well. High recommended to check out!

for the custom ring you can have up to 4 apps to launch from it, just when you're selecting them, it only lets you select 1 at a time.
