[Q] New S3 LTE, Do I flash this Rom - Galaxy S III I9305 (4G LTE + 2GB RAM) Q&A, Help &

Picked up a Titanium Grey S3 LTE today after trading mine in.. Only paid an extra £40 for a BNIB one.. dont think they knew what they were selling hehe
Anyway, am I right in thinking that I flash these roms now?
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1...ode=0#firmware
But flash it in the same way as a 9300, with ODIN 304 and samsung drivers.
Thanks

Just checked up, It is exactly the same process.. an S3 LTE is just an S3 with an added 4G circuit and antenna and 2GB of ram.. so yeah.. its flashed through ODIN the same.

Just don't flash the wrong firmware (NO I9300 firmware , ONLY LTE ones), and be sure you got a I9305 and not I9305N or I9305T.

I flashed an EE UK modem.bin this morning after extracting it from the Orange UK LTE rom, so you gotto really watch for that.. or its a one way trip to brick, but thats something I make a point of when Im looking on here or samfirmware, so thanks for the reminder. Appreciated
Cheers

flashing a wrong modem isn't a "one way trip to brick", relax. the only things that can lead to it are flashing a wrong bootloader, recovery, or losing EFS

Just out of curiosity and maybe to help others be more aware...
When I checked I thought there was only one variant of the S3 LTE, didnt realise there was the T and the N.. but are these region differences such as N-North america or T-Thailand
So a 9305N or 9305T rom would brick a I9305 International device.

[Q] S5830L convertible in S5830 ?

Hello,
I'm new in Samsung Galaxy's world and I wanted to verify some informations that I've found refering to a GT-S5830L phone.
A friend of mine came to France from Uruguay and brang his GT-S5830L. The phone is SIM-UNLocked and strangely running a S5830B firmware (maybe that is the Uruguayan version). Now he wants to use this phone here but it only works when limitating it to 2G.
As far as I can say from my searches on internet, the three of S5830, S5830L and S5830B share the same hardware but their baseband for 3G differ.
So we would like to flash the phone with a S5830 firmware/baseband. Is that possible ? Will it make the S5830L work with 3G here in France ? What happens with the SIM-UNLocking ?
Thank you for your responses
If you flash an s5830 firmware, you'll brick your device..

Ok thank you. Is that specific for S5830 firmware ? Because that phone runs a S5830B firmware regardless that it is a S5830L device.

No... Don't try to flash rom of a particular device on any other device.

Do one thing, try to wipe data, cache & factory reset. See if it works in bringing 3g to life...

Hey, stop the paranoia.
5830L, 5830 and 5830B are compatible, same chipset, same roms, can flash firmwares from one another.
I have a 5830L, flashed with ddkq8 (5830 firmware for india), then with ktm (5830 firmware for spain). No problems.
But, if 3g frequencies are limited by hardware, then flashing a spain rom (or modem) to the 5830L won't help you get 3g signal (only 2g).
5830L 3g frequencies are compatible with America (north, central, and south) but not with european 3g frequencies.

I already knew this. But I had came across threads that told about a bricked s5830i by flashing f/w of s5830. I just didn't want to put the guy in trouble as I've never done but just heard of what you spoke, just in case anything went wrong. Anyways, it went good for you & so it may for him...

Hi dxppxd,
As you had a S5830L flashed with a spannish firmware (S5830) then you should be able to tell me if the 3G worked on it when you were in Spain (which wouldn't have been possible with the standard S5830L frequencies) :good:
My guess is : as S5830 , S5830L and S5930B seems to be the same hardware then the 3G frequencies are only defined by their Firmware (but that information is unavailable)

I've read that the S5830i have not the same hardware than S5830; then flashing the S5830i with a S5830 firmware will probably result in breaking the phone.

Not necessarily. It WILL get bricked if you use ROM manger. In that case it might get bricked for no reason anyway
CWM gives you an error, so NO BRICKING.
@OP: Phones have different models because they differ, however slightly. Any ROM is meant for a single phone ONLY. Other phone will have to get different (or ported) version of that same ROM. If the phones have little difference, so will their ROMs and porting will also be easier.
EDIT: the S5830, S5830L & S5830B seem to be an exception due to having basically the same internal components. They are the SAME phone, slightly tweaked by samsung .

S5830, S5830L, S5830 have the same hardware components, S5830i has a different processor compared to them.
EDIT: S5830i has the same chipset as Galaxy Y.

This is from personal experience and some help from friends over seas:
Tried 2 galaxy aces 5830L in Spain with stock Spanish firmware and modem (one of them mine). None had access to 3g, only 2g. Both were purchased at Mexico from different carriers, and manually unlocked to use different sims.
Tried 2 galaxy aces 5830 at Mexico, with latin modems (kp3). Only one had access to 3g, the other one just had 2g. The one with access to 3g was factory free (already sim unlocked, and also running cm7 rom), the other one was manually unlocked to use a different sim and had stock spanish firmware.
It seems latin(5830L), brazilian (5830B) and carrier acquired aces have hardware limited frequencies, so changing firmware won't give you 3g access. But I would need more confirmation from other people's experience to see if this is the case.
Why don't you try flashing a European modem

I guess I will finish trying it, as it seems to be harmless for the phone, it is ?
Only for information the GT-S5830i have a different CPU not the 7227-T1 but a different Qualcomm running at 832mhz.

hey all, just wondering if the GT-I9305 and the GT-I9305T are the same or not, and whether the GT-I9305 stock firmware is transferable over to the GT-I9305T.

Do you mean the Telstra GSIII LTE?
If yes, then try asking Telstra, though probably they won't give an answer.
I believe they might not be compatible because Telstra has history of modifying models,
both hardware and software, which compromised the phone experience under other carriers.
And assume they are compatible, then why it is named I9305T instead of I9305?
Obviously making one model is easier than making an I9305 and another version with a "T".
So, I guess you probably should not try the firmware for another version of the GSIII LTE until you get a CLEAR answer
Good Luck!

As far as I know they are exactly the same aside from slight software differences. I've got a GT-I9305 bought from Kogan which is a Hong Kong version. In stock form it worked on the Telstra network but the signal strength was not all that great and it use to drop of the network on odd occasion which required a restart in some case to reconnect. I got a bit tired of it so I flashed it with the official Telstra ROM last Friday. So far everything is running great, signal strength is as expected and it did not drop of the network at all since the re-flash.
All I can say now my phone is now a GT-I9305T and it works as it should :good:
awesome, thats great to know.
i was also doing some searching on the internet earlier today and realized that my s3 ( GT-I9305T) was only running the 4.1.1 version of android and that the GT-I9300 was updatable to 4.1.2, i then went on to check for an update which came back unsuccessful saying that i had the latest version of firmware, i understand that they are releasing it model by model but does anyone have any idea on whether the GT-I9305T will get the update? and also any estimate on when?

Have you tried this search?
https://www.google.de/search?hl=de&...0...1.1j2.64.psy-ab..0.2.341....0.hub_oipjIe0
I guess you will find help in one of the search results
First of all download Samsung USB Drivers: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1I3ilHBfl1lSvkqQwHZTEOE6usggQqQGb
Download TWRP for GT-I9305T: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1kmpXSVGdd_XR2WojWqAe8rd_Xm7gZ8Lj (its an old version of twrp but it should work)
After downloading twrp download Odin3: https://drive.google.com/open?id=10CLH6TqF6PLiqnMnjqY5IgsfU5KjX-F-
Extract it od desktop
Now power off your s3 and boot into download mode holding Power Button + Volume Down + Home Button
You will see that screen turned on and press Volume up to continue into Download mode
Connect your s3 into your pc via usb cable. Open Odin3 and you will see on the left side message that says Added!!
Now click od the AP button and select twrp that you downloaded
Go to options tab and make sure that Re-Partition is unticked, Auto-Reboot and F. Reset Time keep ticked
Finally click Start button and the twrp should flash, you will see green text saying PASS!
After flashing twrp the phone should automatically reboot, download SuperSU: https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/supersu/download/zip/SuperSU-v2.82-201705271822.zip
Turn off the phone again and hold Power Button + Volume Up + Home Button and it should boot into twrp, swipe to allow system modifications, and select install and find the supersu.zip file, select it and swipe to confirm flash.
After reboot your s3 should be rooted. You will have SuperSU app in the menu.

(Q) Very quick question on returning to stock...

I have a GT-I9305T (Telstra Version) currently running CM10.1, I would like to unroot the phone and return it to factory original stock...
1) can I flash a stock i9305 or does it have to be a i9305T based ROM? - where can I get these?
2) should I run triangle away in CM10.1 then flash the stock ROM, and run SU to unroot?
3) after all that is done I still have CWM right? how do I return that to stock?
THANKS IN ADVANCE...

1) Yes you'll need a I9305T based rom, it's to do with basebands and 4G (e.g. i9305 can't do 4G in Australia while i9305T can...)
2) I forget how it is with triangle away, but that's up to you. Whether or not that red exclamation mark bothers you or not. Also it'll automatically unroot when you flash the stock rom via Odin. So no worries about that!
3) CWM will be removed (stock recovery restored/added) and any custom kernels will be gone too.
Good luck, but becareful with Odin. If you don't feel certain about something, look it up on YouTube (as their explanations will be better as you'll be able to view it).
Hope this helped

He wants to unroot and go back to stock, he is using a T model.
Research before you come and talk...
"The I9305 is the European version and the difference is:
The I9305 operates on the LTE800 & LTE2600MHz bands
The I9305T operates on the LTE1800 & LTE2600MHz bands
Therefore the I9305 will not currently operate in 4G mode in Australia (will only operate in 2G or 3G mode) as Australia is currently using the LTE1800MHz band (both Telstra & Optus).
If you are living overseas and want to visit Australia, then the I9305 will work (not at it's full potential though). If you live in Australia buy the I9305T."

So please...
The likes of you are not wanted here.
In-case you meant he just needs any old rom for i9305 and just flash a modem for the T. There are from what I understand a complete different line of stock roms for the T version. Just simplify it and let him flash the official stock for the i9305T, if you want to go into details feel free to. I offered help and gave him a valid answer.
Claiming my answer is bull reflects badly on you and only you.
And to prove the existence of a stock rom specifically for the i9305T - here you go: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2080463
Get a life and stop trying to answer an already answered question.
Good day to you sir...
I live in Australia and have both t and international versions. Both work on 4g. I stand corrected if he wants to go back to stock on t version.
But you are wrong about the T version only doing 4g here. Both t and non t work perfectly here and you can use either rom on both its the modem that's specific that was my point.

The thing is, you're stating that Telstra themselves lied when they said using an i9305 Rom/firmware package is not something that is recommended and hasn't been tested.
They also said that there is a difference...
Also, they way you came and said that was 'bull' was childish and plain rude.
I answered the question correctly and showed facts.
You've done nothing but call part of my explanation 'bull' and nag about how there is then no difference when clearly there is.
Next time I recommend you be more friendly when claiming someone is wrong.
I recommend you leave it at that, cause I am.
Can Europe GT-I9305 run with Telstra Rom?
Hi,
I have a Galaxy S3 4G GT-I9305 bought via Kogan. Came with a French splash screen.
I currently am using Telstra but have rooted the phone and running Cyanogenmod.
I want to unroot the phone. Can I use the Telstra GT-I9305T rom? Will it work or is the modem different?
Thanks

"Unfortunately Jupiter you have been misinformed. Optus provide a 1800mHz LTE network and sell Samsung I9305 handsets to use on this network. The I9305 will also work on the Telstra 1800mHz LTE network.
Google is your friend. Try these links for some light reading and education."
Maybe you should have read the thread you linked to a bit better you arrogant clown, the above was the last post.

I know this is bulls#@t because I have the optus GT-I9305 not the I9305T, my girlfriend has the I9305 on optus too and we both get 4G.
Pull ya frikken head in and don't shout someone down when you appear to know sfa about the 4G networks in Australia.
Yes, to go back to stock the I9305T rom is needed for the OP but saying that the I9305 WON'T get 4G in Aus is complete and utter crap.

soft brick. deleted android off. bootloop

Hey guys
The Title basically sum up whats happen. i was trying to up my android to a newer version and regrettably i formatted android off the whole thing. i know i have to flash the old software back on. but im not too sure what that software is nor where i can find it. My Samsung galaxy s3 is i9305. i think my baseband is xxbll5. but i cant find much on that type of model which makes me think its not that one.. the phones from Australia and its contracted to Optus, if that helps.
Choose your firmware from sammobile or samsung-updates .
Baseband is modem not firmware .

Im from Brazil, my model is a i9305T too. But actually im using a i9305 4.3 rom and no problems so far. I cant say about 4g though, cause we actually don't have it, but i believe you can flash a i9305 rom without bloatware with a telstra baseband/modem

May help

Looking for I9305T Firmware.

A friend of mine accidentally soft bricked his S3 I9305T (Telstra Version) trying to root it. Does anybody know where I can find the firmware for this exact phone? Or can normal I9305 Firmware be flashed?
Thanks
If someone could confirm that standard I9305 FW can be flashed that would make this a lot easier.

Do you not know anywhere else maybe? The connection there is extremely slow (top of about 50kb/s) and sometimes fails. I will try again.

Yeah it is slow, you can pay for membership which speeds it up, but I usually leave it overnight to download. You can try samsung-updates.com as well but I think it is much the same.

Yes regular i9305 firmware can be flashed although being Telstra it won't have very good reception as the frequencies are different with Telstra. Flashing a Telstra modem after will help.. Also factory reset is usually a must if flashing stock software
Sent from my GT-I9305 using XDA Free mobile app

Yeah I ended up getting the FW after about 4 failed downloads. Flashed the correct I9305T firmware (although not the Telstra exact variant, i'd assume it doesn't matter)
