Any info on the status of bluetooth audio working on 4.2.x? I flashed SlimBeans without realizing that BT audio doesn't work on 4.2.x ROMs. I'd like to use 4.2.x, but I guess until this issue is fixed I'll have to use 4.1.x.

No info other than this:
You'll know when its fixed. Users want BT, GPS, Camcorder. When any of these work you'll notice all the posts about it.

Okay, thanks. I had just noticed someone talking about one of your ROMs and said that GPS was fixed or something, but he wasn't sure about Bluetooth audio yet. Didn't know if that just meant he hadn't tested it yet.
Thanks, anyway!
They are tough to fix unless we have a 4.2 kernel...and we dont have a 4.2 kernel, and we dont know when we will get one...

Ahh, I see. I appreciate you telling me that. I just switched over to the AHD yesterday, and I've been reading all last night and all today on here. Didn't see anything about it however.
Thanks again!

I have been using android for a short time(about 3 months). My phone has had stock 1.5 and 1.6 roms. Apart from that that cyanogen's, dwang's, wesgarner's, htcclay....
The issue that is driving me nuts is that my phone gets disconnected from my car's stock handsfree(vw)
I started with cooked roms with cyanogen, almost everything worked correctly Bluetooth was working OK untill a version(about the time ramhacks appeared) broke my bluetooth handsfree, so I switched to dwang. I didn't have any issue with his roms.
After a time I got bored of his roms so I tried almost all roms posted here(except espresso/sense roms, I don't like them). The same issue with all of them. I might get disconnected in 2 minutes, 50 minutes....
I don't have any fact that could probe my findings, I suspect that it has something to do with a kernel change that cyanogen did and everyone took it for their roms because it only happens with the roms that took that kernel lines.
Now, after using super d, wesgarner, cyano, htcclay.... I am back to dwang 1.17.1 i customized it a little bit and I can use the phone again while driving, bonessy's rom also works flawlessly
Roms working correctly(for my hands free):Stock ones, dwangs, older cyanogens, bonessy ion rom.
Working with disconnect issue: Cyanogen, wesgarner, kingxclick, super D, pay's rom and may be some others
Any help is appreciated solving this issue
Ps: Sorry for my poor english

I think it is, it's related to custom kernels. There are no issues with stock roms and some other kernels

On a 32b board, but do with a 32a board.
I am using 32b htc magic. I solved the issue partially flashing dwang's kernel into Super D 1.9.2, it doesn't get disconnected anymore. The drawback is that wireless is not working, Do I have to flash anything else apart from dwang's boot.img? Any kernel module missing?
Thanks
Edit: Fixed. I flashed proper wlan.ko into /lib/modules. WIFI working!

What can I do to solve this issue? I need bluetooth working at least while its paired
I really want Eclair bad.. but I can not live without a camera.
What exactly is the ongoing issue with getting Elcair camera to work - is it a kernel issue or a user space one?
If it is user space I might start looking into it myself using the working donut code as a starting point.
There seems to be very little information on this board about the *development* of Eclair. Everyone is just talking about builds and cooking. Should I be looking at another board for actual Java hacking to get the user-space working (assuming it is in user-space) ?
I think it's due to user space as everything works fine in Donut builds. For example, BlueTooth works fine in polyrhythmic's Eclair builds for Kaiser, while other eclair builds don't.
I'm sure if someone took a look at what polyrhythmic did with his build, you could get bluetooth working on other eclairs, and this could maybe even help figure out how to get the camera working as well.
Just shows how we really took advantage of polyrhythmic's work.

BT works in the Eclair builds on this forum too, Perhaps not so well on your Kaiser however.
Did Poly get BT audio working?
Regarding the camera. Thats a great question. I am not sure who is working on it?

Guess he didn't, just tried it myself and it only connects. No BT audio. According to his front page that BT audio is a kernel problem.
For the record, I don't care about Bluetooth, at all. But I can't go to eclair with no camera.
If it is confirmed user-space, then maybe I will start looking into it myself... although, I find it hard to believe months have gone by based on a simple userland issue?
i think it is user space also, because using an eclair NBH on warm donut camera works fine, but same NBH with eclair and the camera doesnt work so that would rule out the kernel most likely
Yes, it's a userspace problem, I wrote the userspace cam lib for cupcake and donut but there will be some changes needed for eclair and froyo.
I don't have much time at the moment and would rather make the kernel better with what time I do have.
It's probably not a difficult job to get it working, pm me if you need any pointers.

polymod 2.1g with the BT&WIFI update had btaudio working for kaiser.
2.1d lost btaudio but is a much faster build.

Greetings!
This is my first post in this forums. They've been very useful to flash, check updates, etc and I've never had the necessity of posting anything since I've cleared mostly any doubt I've ever had about my Android devices. This time, after searching all over the forums and in several other sites over the net I haven't been able to find any solution to my problem. Let me expose it:
Few months ago after having flashed my device to different ROM's, my friends started to tell me that they couldn't hear me well during phonecalls. The sound was not clear enough. They could hear, the volume was ok, but the phonecall the sound call they would recieve was not well.
I thought that this would be related to the hardware, maybe the mic was broken, because once I was thrown into a swimmingpool and I saved my phone by putting it into a jar with rice and letting it rest for few days. However, I have used other programs such as Skype and done the test phonecall so I could hear myself and it went verywell compared to call recorder app tests or regular call, the sound was much better. So I guess that the microphone is still okay and the problem is related to a setting issue that haven't been changed with flashing to different ROMS.
I've been running several ROMS, most of them based in CM7 and I'm now back to the latest stock ROM for America (2.3.5) and the problem is the same.
Any advice will be very apprecciated!

Actually, nothing of the posted above has worked out. If its a software problems how changing hardware would work?
if its still there is a problem after flashing stock one...than its probably your mic need replacement..!

I just cant figure how the mic works well with skype and not with phonecall and how changing de mic would fix it
Recently I've flashed CM 10.1.3 (stable version). Everything is pretty much great (except battery...it's draining pretty fast but I'm ok with that since I got a portable charger).
But the number one thing that is annoying me the most is that I can't get a gps fix no matter what. It doesn't matter whether I'm indoors or outdoors, or what app I'm using (waze, Google maps, etc.), or what "gps fixing" apps I installed. I just can't get a freaking gps lock anywhere!
Before I flashed this ROM, the gps didn't really work well but at least it worked...
I've searched the entire world wide web (obviously started from XDA) and found some interesting answers but none of them helped me even a bit.
Is this a known issue in cm 10.1.3 or is it just me?
thanks in advance
I recently have CM 10.1.3 on my 4X HD l don't have that issue... Try flash rom again.

This looks promising... I will report back if it worked for me or not, as soon as I get off work.
thank you to all of you guys for answering!!
Ok so I've tried modifying the gps.conf like deepmanu suggested, but still couldn't get a gps fix at all.
I know that LG screwed up with the gps in this device and that it is so sensitive that even if I replace the ROM
(I don't think that the CM team played with the gps files), it won't work at all.
Has anyone experienced this and found a solution? because right now the only solution that I'm think about is getting a nexus 5 or something =\

I managed to get my GPS working better by tweaking the gps.conf file, but nothing wonderful. If I am sat in my car I get almost no signal, yet my Nexus 7 is high-quality, 13 sats and almost instant lock. The GPS chip/receiver is crap in our device and that is why I will never buy an LG again. Apart from the GPS I love my phone, but that is too important a part for me.

Thought about it, but changing the baseband to a lower version means to compromise on lower quality phone calls and these kind of stuff.
And I'd rather have a terrible gps signal with great phone calls quality, than the other way around.

Maybe it's not the best chip, but still good enough. Samsung Galaxy S2-series phones all have a way worse receiver, I was barely getting any signal without network.
Problem with custom roms is that nearly all of them only include the very basic necessary configuration. See CM gps.conf and stock gps.conf (included in Omni), there's a big difference. I don't say this switch did wonders (it wasn't bad at all before too), but surely stabilizes signal.

You can't. To connect to an External GPS source is an immediate violation of the Ingress ToS and the app will refuse to launch. This is to assist, at least partly, in stopping players from spoofing their location to cheat.
So, you can connect to an external GPS source, but you can't play Ingress while doing so.

I know, I have the same problem with mine no matter what I do. I normally just end up using my N7 tethered instead.

The best thing I have found is to make sure you fully close the Ingress app (Sign out and clear it from memory) when you get to the new location, then restart it and see if it works - that sometimes seems to force the app to acquire a GPS location quicker. Other than that, buy a different phone - not ideal I know.

I'm having lots of problems while calling, I can hear the person on the other side of the line perfectly while they can't hear anything I say (I sound very far away from the phone). This makes it impossible to have a normal conversation with anyone.
I understood flashing a new Radio could solve this problem, now my question is:
Where do I find these radio's and which one should I flash (Xperia V 4.3, The Netherlands)?
Andddddddddd Bash.
It might be a problem of mic. I had this problem before and the service center had replaced the mic. They said it was water damaged.

Can't be the problem, recording of sound is fine (Whatsapp record, video etc.)

Then it's software-related and not a hardware/radio issue.
Did this problem come with 4.3 or did it exist on 4.1, too? What about other ROMs like CM - are you able to test?
Exactly what I thought, but I just moved from 4.3 stock, to 4.3 Lovins. And I can't recall if it happened on 4.4 CM..
That's why I was kinda hoping I could just flash another radio/baseband or something.

are u saying you dont remeber if the radio was working on CM 4.4 e.g.!?
Honestly, if you sound really far away it cant be a problem connected to baseband/radiofirmware. Its either because you are standing quite far away from the person you are trying to test-call (joke) or due to the phone app.
Make a NANdroid and try it with another firmware....
No that's not what I said I meant, I can't recall if the issue was happening.
