I have a Motorola milestone (second hand) and tried to load a update for it then i noticed the following problems:
- boot looping at the android logo
-when i tried going into bootloader i get a blank black screen
-when i go into recovery and try to update using "update.zip" i get a EOCD error and another time i get a authorization error
WHAT TO DO????
Come on dude,
Just search EOCD error, I think you will find at least 15 topics.
You lost root, Nedd to flash vulnerable recovery sbf. You will find latest instructions on nadalbak site.
You can find site inside his cm7 topic. Milestone android development.
Sent from my Milestone using xda premium
i'm fairly new to the milestone side, the version that is on the phone is 2.2
Everybody's instruction is to put the phone in bootloader mode and connect to the pc but i only get a black screen and then the phone restarts hence rsd lite not picking it up
Put it in recovery and try to flash another sbf, it should work.
Trough rsd lite.
try that just now and still no response on the pc, and i know the usb port is working because i charged the phone
Are you sure your drivers for phone are correctly installed?
Explain correctly installed?
yeah so what about when i try going into boot loader and get a blank screen?
In the early development of moto driver's phone wasn't recognised by rsd lite.
I didn't hear of that problem anymore though. The solution was to reinstall / install drivers again or try on another pc.
Cable could also be a problem.
Are you trying to enter bootloader with the cable connected to phone? If yes try without and after connect it.
The cable isnt the problem, im sure of that and i tried on two other laptops but they are 64 bit windows 7 but anyways why when i press "power+vol up + camera" i only get a black screen and not black screen with other milestones?
I'm thinking thats the problem or reason why rsd lite not picking up the phone cuz its not in bootloader mode
Ahhh
It took some time since last used bootloader.
But I think is power + x for bootloader.
==== update ====
my bad that's for recovery
oky just tested:
it's power + up key from keyboard
now when i first pressed the power i got a black screen, so i pressed the power again while holding the up key .. and voila:
bootloader 90.78
battery ok
....
good luck ..
when this happened to me i was shocked so much , but then i got it fixed so yay
sigh was trying that from lastnight but no luck
Does anybody have a video to how this done because i'm wondering if i'm doing it right cuz i'm still getting black screen when trying to go into bootloader, i pressed "power + up button on DPAD" and then pressed the power button again but still black screen
While the phone is off, hold the up button on the D-pad and press the power button. Do not let go of the up button until the bootloader screen comes up.
while the phone is off? i can't turn off the phone because its just looping so i take out the battery then put it in and press up and power button so is that the right way?
Yes,
If it doesn't work, for pre 90.78 bootloader I think it was another combination of keys.
Google it
Got it all wrong, the problem was that a app was installed and then the phone was restarted then the looping start at the android sign
no luck, the ways i see is the same as urs

about the video:
found this on youtube:
bootloader:

recovery:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3Vl9NbU6Ag&feature=related
if you enter recovery try wiping everything / factory reset and see if it get into android.
other than this i haven't got any other idea,
it is possible to reboot it with adb if you got a rom that supports adb at boot. ex CM7. cm6 and froyo rom not sure but this is a long shot.
Yesterday I made the root of HTC with Toolkit .. today I wanted to hack the buttons and the logo .. I follow the procedure ... and the phone will not start.
I try the normal procedures .. but nothing .. when I think .. "maybe the buttons are now active and maybe if you use them how to use the volume down key work .." (you know the madness? here!) So I tried .. and what happened .. that.. holding down power button and the soft key at the right of the logo almost immediately lit up .. the screen with the green logo .. but when i take off the finger from the power .. down agian! So I redid the procedure and never give up power .. and remained as in stand by .. then I tried to touch a long time (a few seconds) the logo and the button on the right and the screen responded switching on and off .. so I pressed volume down and I'm in recovery .. then i'm going faster in some forums for find anyone that help me to recovery to STOCK my phone.. and one person told me to install a stock .. from that point (on bootloader) .. i use an EXE file .. 1gb file .. a Stock Rom RUU .. I did, it seemed gone, and respond to commands from the software .. but at the end of the procedure is not successful, saying that the ROM was wrong ERROR 155 .. remained the black screen with HTC logo .. Then I tried again .. and software told me that the procedure was failed and to shut down and try again. From this point my phone HTC ONE European .. doesn't work.. only the soft key intermitted flashing when i hold on the power button.. for 1 secondo or 3 minute.. nothing happen.
Someone can help me?
I posted this in ATT HTC One, but it's not getting any attention.
Unlocked and rooted my phone last night using the latest version of TWRP. I mistakenly (not knowing at the time) used the Cyanogenmod installer kit which gave me an error during install. Now my phone is stuck on that spinning CM loading screen. When I go to get into the bootloader (power + volume down) my phone restarts and goes to the bright HTC screen with the red writing on the bottom, then goes right back to the CM loading screen and not into the bootloader menu like I want.
I have not yet tried the trick of holding the phone near bright lights to try and get it into bootloader. The USB cable I think is fine as well and not a cause of anything.
Any suggestions please? I have searched through this forum a lot, but haven't found this exact problem yet.

Ok you dont need to worry abt this. You need to Press (Power + Volume Down) till your phone restarts and then just leave the power button but keep holding the volume down button and it will take you to the Fastboot Mode and from there you can go to recovery and flash another Compatible ROM or do RUU. Hope it helps:good:
Thank you! I will try this tonight.
Others have also said I need to do this under a bright light, too.
Hello,
I had Installed Cyanogenmod 10.2 by TheWhisp 2 Months ago and since Thursday it restarted randomly sometimes. I saw that there is Cyanogenmod 11 so I thought that it would be a good Idea to just replace it. So I flashed via Odin the Stock ROM yesterday and today I wanted to Install CM 11 after it was in this boot animation for about 20 minutes I removed the battery and turned it on again and it was stuck in the screen where it says "Samsung Galaxy..." and at the bottom "cyanogenmod" and I tried to go into recovery but it did nothing. After that I flashed the Stock ROM via Odin and it was also stuck in the boot animation and I still can't go into recovery. But I can charge my battery. I tried to remove the battery for about 5 minutes and after I came back to it I accidentally pluged it into my computer before inserting the battery and surprisingly the screen turned on and the RAMDUMP MODE (ARM9) appeared (I don't know what that is). But I still cannot go into recovery to install another ROM, in this case CM 11.
Does someone know a solution how I can repair it and Install CM 11? And what is this RAMDUMP MODE (ARM9)?
P. S.: I'm not a English person so excuse me for the language mistakes

Go to download mode , decline terms ( vol- ) and then quickly press vol+ & vol- & home at the same time , that should get you to recovery mode , wipe data/factory reset and the bootloop will be gone and everything will be back to "normal" !

That didn't work it started the RAMDUMP MODE (ARM9) btw. is that normal, that everytime when I press the vol. down button an a dot appears (in the RAMDUMP MODE)? I think it's already on when I press all buttons (if it's off) because I have to remove the battery to start into another mode.
Yes , it's normal , I had this problem multiple times , this "trick" always worked , try it several times , pressing only Vol- & Vol+ & Home without the power button and keeping them pressed until samsung logo appears after declining/disagreeing with the terms of download mode.

Still does not work, here a picture of the ramdump mode: cambild.com/uploads/12453-20140215233208.jpg I've seen some ramdump modes that look diferent. In Download mode I don't have to decline any terms it just warns me and I have to cancel or continue
I've solved my problem. I used a Recovery PDA by RageFoxtrot
Hi all, this is sadly my first thread in xda, sadly because two things: for being a help-ask thread and because the reason im posting it:
So i decided to flash the new ASIG firmware to my S10, and I don't know what went wrong because odin flashed all right. when i rebooted my device did the key combo to get into recovery mode but it didn't work. Can't pass from the first boot screen because it keeps rebooting
some info to feed your sugestions:
-i was rooted and running a custom rom (August securitypatch on BeyondRom)
-patched AP file in magisk
-ianmacd TWRP
I have tried to get it into download mode, recovery mode, normal OS, magisk boot.... nothing works it keeps rebooting. I remember the battery was like 60~70 % and have been like 7 hours and keeps rebooting.
Also i have tried to get it to boot in download mode waiting till screen goes black pressing voldown and bixby and catching the right moment to plug the cable in it and stops rebooting but doesn't boot either. If i press power button starts again rebooting and the same happen if i disconnect-reconnect or free-press any of the button combo even for one second...
so i have been tweaking my devices like 3 years and this is the first time i think i screwed up one, i always tought it was not possible (hope don't) but this time i think i made it
Do I? there is no fix?
i'm waiting to the phone gets fully discharged to see if powered off can i get it to boot into download mode and fla**** again
is there another way to get it to go into download mode? like old phones with the usb jig
it is a way to turn it off??
do you know what could be the reason to get in this state?
sorry for too much questions but i had a s7 edge before and i messed with it a lot, one day deactivated oem unlock, flashed wrong custom roms and broke it (software way) a lot of times and i always was able to get into download mode and fix it but this time i can't get it to work
so please help me and thanks for read and try to help (if anybody) lol r.r :crying::crying::crying:
FIXED
i'm happy to have been right, its hard to hard brick a device hehehe just after some minutes after (panic atack) post battery went out of energy pressed key combo comected cable to pc and booted un DM im sorprised because did not lost a byte of data
When the S9-S10 Starts bootlooping and won't go to DWNLD mode or Recovery, Just hold Power + Vol DWN + BIX for 5 seconds, release, repeat for ten seconds, release, Repeat,
After that the "upload mode" should appear. and you can just hold Power+Volume Down until the phone reboots. This time the keys will finally boot you into the desired mode...
