[Q] boot loop - won't boot into recovery - more details inside - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello everybody,
yesterday, when my phone was on the desk, it started to reboot.
it goes to the logo and then reboots again. I've tried booting into recovery mode and it's not having it (and I'm sure I'm doing it correctly). I can boot into Download mode, but only for a few seconds (about five) then it reboots again.
it sounds like the power button stuck down infact I can hold the home button and volume down and it'll boot into Download mode!
but I don't think the actual button is stuck, though. It still clicks.
i try to leave phone without battery for about one hour:no changes
So i decide to buy a new battery to exclude it from the list of possible faults, and the new battery work like the old one.
So i open the phone and clean it with crc spray to avoid oxidation problem (the phone was never in contact with water).
No changes.
So i test the power button and it seems work (i say seems because i'm not sure about how its working) i resolder it and no changes.
finaly i leave the phone without battery in the nigth (about six hours) and no changes.
during my internet research i found another guy that have same problem and he solves it leaving the phone without battery for 3 days(I can't post link...i'm noob)
I'm not sure what to do. There's no logical explanation for this to happen. It's been working fine up until now.

Hardbricked LG Revolution

I have an LG Revolution that will not enter emergency download mode, infact I can't even get the screen to turn on no matter what I do. What happened was the battery was alot less charged than I had thought during a restoration using LGNPST; and it seems that the battery died right in the middle of the restoration.
Ideas?
had this happen once, try leaving it wall charging for a while then plug it in via usb, while plugged in via usb after chargin remove and replace batt do hard reset with phone completely off (pow + vol down) lgnpst should start then.
That didn't work. The phone won't even charge.

You may have already tried but just in case try to enter emergency download mode by taking out the battery, then plug in usb to computer, then hold power and volume UP -- not down, and then while continuing to hold the buttons insert battery.

Tried it a million times.
Any luck yet? I'm curious how this turns out...
Anyway just a random thought I had... maybe you could take it in to a store and have them charge the battery for you. It might respond better with a full battery.
Just a total guess but you never know...

I've tried to charge the battery using a USB cable connected directly to the negative and positive on the battery, but I'm not quite sure if it charged the battery as the phone still doesn't respond. I'm going to take this phone and a hardbricked HTC Thunderbolt I've got into a Verizon store some time today or tomorrow. Thanks for the input.

OB left in sun..doesn't stay powered on

Hello.
I've left my phone in the hot sun for some time and it's not working anymore. When I try to power it on, the LG logo appears and screen+buttons flash continnously as if it's struggling to start but can't. *this is on battery, not plugged it.
When I plug it in charger It powers up, everything is working but it eventually reboots by itself. Sometimes it stays on 3 seconds, other times 2-3 mins, then reboots.
I've tryed wipe data/factory reset, wipe dalvik cache, reinstall ROM, wipe battery stats..nothing works.
So basically if I plug out the charger it instantly shuts down and starts trying to power up in a continnous loop.
Is the battery dead?
Thanks
I think so... You could try another battery but it is possible that you may have fried some guts as well. Was it on when you cooked it in the sun?

Already tried a different battery? Its quite cheap and I guess some power cells might have died and that would explain the malfunction, when you "stress" the phone and it needs more power. Maybe it is able to deal with low power, but high output simply takes it down.

I didn't buy a battery yet because I can't find one. I'm on vacation (Italy) and at the local phone service they told me they don't know this phone and asked me where it's from . and if I want a battery they have to order it and it takes time.
That's why I came here, hoping for a nice "custom" solution for the problem.
I think the battery does not know how to charge anymore, anyone knows a good clean wipe/format for the battery? besides discharge it complety and wipe stats.(because I cannot discharge it, when it's plugged in it says 100% and if I plug out the charger it dies)
thanks for the replies mates.

Help, my Nexus One doesnt work....

Hello guys,
I need a help, to save my precious Nexus One...
Until yesterday, it was working perfectly, but earlier today, did not work more...
When connecting the charger cable, the green light turns on only if I press the back cover of the nexus!
I've tried turning it by all means: take and put the battery, press the volume button down, press the ball vol (-) + power button. dont work!
I used the USB cable to the computer, and does not work ..
Is completely dead, the only light he shows, is that I quoted above, loading ..
ps: it is rooted
Thx for any help!
Can you get into your bootloader?

I'm not sure but i guess your battery might have drained fully.
Try charging it for a while (10-15 min), you should see the orange color charging indication.
Or if battery is already charged, .. you can try getting into bootloader mode by pressing the "power + volume down + track ball button".
If you get here.. then only something can be done.
your powr button is damage. plug ur mobile with data cable, when u see the charging light, pull out your battery and then again pull in.
you can up new rom

Once it happened for me too. Remove the battery and insert it but not fully, gently push it towards the pin. Connect the charger and turn the switch on the socket. Wait for a few seconds. Your phone might be okay now and now it may indicate the charging sign.

[Q] Won't boot/charge

My Droid 4 will no longer charge nor turn on. The only time I get any response out of it is when I plug it into a computer. The green led turns on for about 5 seconds and then the light turns off.
Can anyone help me fix it? Thanks

You probably must buy motorola factory cable (~10$)
You can also try this

Other things to check
when connected to PC, did you look in device manager?
when connected to pc, did you hold volume down and power, for 15-20 secs?

If you have (working) safestrap, you can charge there (on non-bricked phones it's working)
If it charging, charge to 100%

If you can find a small straightblade screwdriver (think the size you would fix glasses with) and insert it into the top of the screw at an angle, you may be able to catch the inside corners of the torx socket enough to turn the screw. This is what I had to do with mine before I got around to buying a cheap set of torx drivers on ebay.
I've found that loosening one screw a couple turns is usually enough to make the battery lose contact, but as sd_shadow said, you can completely disconnect the battery without removing it in any case (the connector is on a flexible ribbon cable).
A straightblade screwdriver isn't a highly repeatable solution by any means; using it instead of the proper torx bit will gradually damage the socket on the screw. But you can definitely get away with doing it once just to "pull" the battery.

I don't think its the LCD because the device doesn't charge when connected to a wall outlet, only when connected to a computer (and only for 30 secs then 5 secs after that).

Nope, only response I get out of it is vibrating occasionally when the factory cable is plugged in and the green led light when plugged into a computer using a regular cable.
