[Q] MyPhoneExplorer and Cyanogenmod 10.1 - HTC Incredible S

Has anyone got MyPhoneExplorer to work with a Cyanogenmod 10.1 based ROM ?
I've only just got around to rooting my Incredible S, and haven't had chance to look into it much but it seems like you need to update the adb drivers that MyPhoneExplorer uses to make it incompatible?
Anyone had any luck with this?

Yes, I did find a solution in the end but I've forgotten exactly what I did now, sorry! Try this though (taken from the MyPhoneexplorer forums) :
1. Download Google's latest Android SDK: 32-bit or 64-bit.
2. Unpack the SDK or - if you have Windows Vista, 7 or 8 - simply open the ZIP file.
3. Inside the SDK locate and open the folder sdk -> platform-tools.
4. Locate the files adb.exe, AdbWinApi.dll and AdbWinUsbApi.dll.
5. Open MyPhoneExplorer's DLL folder, which usually is C:\Program Files\MyPhoneExplorer\DLL (on 32-bit systems) or C:\Program Files (x86)\MyPhoneExplorer\DLL (on 64-bit systems).
6. Backup the files adb.exe, AdbWinApi.dll and AdbWinUsbApi.dll which reside in MyPhoneExplorer's DLL folder by copying them to a safe location on your hard disk.
7. Copy the files adb.exe, AdbWinApi.dll and AdbWinUsbApi.dll from the SDK folder to MyPhoneExplorer's DLL folder; these files will then replace the old files. Notice: Windows might ask you to enter the administrator password to perform this step.
8. Close all open folders and start MyPhoneExplorer.
9. Connect your Android phone or tablet to one of your computer's USB ports.
10. In MyPhoneExplorer choose File -> Connect.
11. On your Android smartphone or tablet confirm that your computer is allowed to establish a USB connection.

Help with ADB

When I tried to install it, it failed and now when I try again it says

C;\windows
system32\wdcoinstaller01005.dll is either not designed to run windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support
you dont install anything. you extract the android sdk into the c:\. then you copy the two files mention in the thread to c:\windows\system32. you then go to start>run>cmd(enter). type adb devices. ADB is ALL COMMAND LINE. THERE IS NO PROGRAM YOU INSTALL
what two files?

~sigh~ are you sure you read how to do this at all?
adb.exe and AdbWinApi.dll are the two files that need to go to system32
and then install the drivers from your usb_driver folder from the SDK. Use the AMD one if you're using a 64bit OS or the Intel one for 32bit OS.
Okay but I get a problem at
Plug in your phone through USB and DO NOT MOUNT IT!!!!!
Your computer should see a new device and try to install Android 1.0 driver (If it doesnt, scroll down to the "Im not getting a notification of Android ADB when i plug in my USB" section)
Let it load
Once it cant find them select "Install drivers from my pc"
The drivers you need are in the Android SDK 1.5r2 folder (C:\android-sdk-windows-1.5_r2\usb_driver)
Depending on your OS pick x86 or amd64
You ADB Android Device should now be installed! Good Job
I get a problem at this part when I click install drivers from my pc it pops up an error

System Restore and try it again.
that has nothing to do with adb. that means your driver installer that is resident in windows is corrupted. unless you can system restore to a point at which it was working, the only real fix is going to be a new windows install. not entirely sure how one breaks the library for installing device drivers, but hey, thats what you've got.
Ok the problem was solved when I used my other computer.

Cannot install USB ADB driver on PC for streak.

See title. Using Win7, 64-bit. I've tried with the most current version, as well as the revision 3. I go to device manager, choose "Dell Streak7" (under "Other Devices"), choose "Update Driver Software", point it to the correct folder, and it tells me there are no available driver files there. Streak is in debug mode, no driver is currently installed. Can't root until I can get this working, can someone please help me?
Same for me. It seems there's no way to install usb drivers. In windows xp everything's gone ok, but in windows 7 64 bit no way to install. I am win7 64 bit and i need help ((
Have the DS7 plugged in to usb. Copy the Drivers.zip from internal sd card to win 7 desktop, unzip, in desktop manager browse to ADB-V1POP25 folder. Update driver.
Yes all steps have been done...but the result is always the same: when I search the driver and I specify the folder windows doesn't find any driver to update
Ok resolved. I put the ENTIRE driver folder contained inside the dell on my desktop not only the win7 64 bit folder but the full Drivers folder. So I made the procedure fir recognize the driver and I've searched inside the entire folder and.. it works now *-*
Ahh, your win 7pc is deciding whats best for drivers. Its something that you have to disable in admin settings. Google this: "addictive tips install drivers manually windows 7" and read the instructions.
Addictive tips is the site name.
How that enlightens you.
Its okay now win7 now recognize my dell streak 7 *-*
drivers.zip
I've searched XDA for a couple hours now and my 7 is stuck in CMR. Seems I can't do a factory restore until I can round up the drivers folder. I've even searched the Internet for a system dump and can't find one that actually works.. all the links are dead. Do you have the ability to upload the drivers folder even as a zip file if necessary? I'm really hoping this 7 can come back to life. Thanks in advance!!
It's a big package that you can find on dell.com official website in the drivers section. For now i have my notebook in assistence so i write directly from my streak 7 so i can't upload the folder. Try also with the search button on these forums.
Drivers please!?!?!
My streak will not power on or anything. All it does is light up the 3 soft keys on the right so I cant get the drivers off the sd. Can someone PLEASE post up the drivers off theirs. I'm trying everything to get them to install from the dell site but im having no luck. I need to get this fixed asap
This is how i solved my issue. There might be an easier way to do it but this is what worked for me.
Install Android sdk tools( would post a link but im too new)
once installed it will ask if you want to install a bunch of packages. Click Cancel.
In the android sdk and avd manager select "available packages" on the left hand side.
then you want to download
"Android SDK Tools, revision 11"
"Android SDK Platform-tools, revision 5"
"SDK Platform Android 2.2, API 8, revision 2"
"Google USB Driver PAckage, revison 4"
After all that is installed, find the root folder for which you installed the Android SDK software. Navigate through "Android-sdk>extras>google>usb_driver" In the usb_driver folder there is a setup information file called "android_winusb" Open that up in note pad and modify it like so (make a backup of the file just incase)
Under [Google.NTx86] add the following
;Dell Streak 7
%SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_413C&PID_B104
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_413C&PID_B104&MI_01
Under [Google.NTamd64] add the same
;Dell Streak 7
%SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_413C&PID_B104
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_413C&PID_B104&MI_01
Click to collapse
Now save the file and try to update your Streak 7 by right clicking computer and selecting "Manage" then you should see your Dell Streak 7 listed and right click that and select update drivers. Select to browse for the update on your computer then navigate back to "Android-sdk>extras>google>usb_driver" Select just the "usb_driver" folder so it goes through all the subfolders in it and bam your device drivers should be installed and updated. This worked for me. Hopefully it will work for you too.

...Chill guys
DS7 Drivers
If these don't work, and as a last resort, try installing the NERO software off the dell site!
Here
If that doesn't work, I ain't got a Scooby Doo
Mirroring the Drivers.zip file because you shouldn't ever use MegaUpload.
Where do you get off making me wait 41 seconds to download a file and then popping up an adult ad. Piss off MegaUpload.

To install sdk, you need to install (or already have) Java JDK installed.

from the Android SDK page:
If you downloaded the Windows installer (.exe file), run it now and it will check whether the proper Java SE Development Kit (JDK) is installed (installing it, if necessary), then install the SDK Tools into a default location (which you can modify).
its not a requirement to install it on your own any more, apparently
Yep, that's new to me.

it would appear that with each new release of sdk, that they make it more and more noob friendly. thank god for that
now all they need to do is make the installer include adb in the environment path automatically (or by choice, via installation selection)
explaining to a noob to:
install java jdk
download android sdk > unzip it in a location you can find easily
add adb to environment path OR cd c:\path\to\sdk\folder
hell, with most of the noobs you lose them at install java jdk....

Novacom on Windows 8

Anyone successfully installed CM9 or 10 onto a TouchPad while running Novacom on a 64-bit Windows 8 platform?
My buddy just gave me his TouchPad to install, and for some reason I can't get the command line for Novacom.exe to work properly.
I've dropped the Acmeinstaller's into the BIN folder - the same location as novacom.exe. Every time I run the command, I get an error of "unable to locate device".
Nothing.
Anyone out there had any success on Windows 8 with novacom?
--McBean
It runs fine on 32 bit windows 8.
What bin folder, and where exactly is it located ?
I have done it find on 64bit Windows 8 with the novacom driver and acmeinstaller3

On 64-bit Windows 8 Enterprise, the Novacom SDK/PDK is installing to the following folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\HP webOS\SDK\bin
Notably, there's no more Palm Inc. folder, so I'm assuming I drop the acmeinstaller files into the same folder as novacom.exe (which is the bin folder above).
I'm using the full SDK that HP provides: https://developer.palm.com/content/resources/develop/sdk_pdk_download.html

I would suggest you run this https://www.box.com/shared/9fa9a63ffc3c4b5531a6 which is the 64bit novacom installer for windows which should create your Palm, Inc folder and then copy your acmeInstaller there .
That's exactly what I ended up doing to get things working. I just hadn't gotten back here to post the update. After poking around that first night, I found the installer, and it properly installed the novacom files and folder structure with the Palm Inc. details.
Once that was installed, the command line details worked flawlessly.
Thanks for the help!

Your welcome glad you got it sorted . Now the fun begins .

MyPhoneExplorer not connecting via USB with 4.2.2

After updating my Nexus 7 to 4.2.2 I could not connect to PC via USB using MyPhoneExplorer. WiFi connect was still okay.
I just found the answer at
http://www.fjsoft.at/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19015
Basically, the answer is:
"In order to make MyPhoneExplorer compatible with Android 4.2.2 over USB you need the latest version of ADB (1.0.31 or higher). See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2144709 for details, there you'll also find a link to the latest ADB version. If you prefer you can of course download the latest Android SDK from Google's servers). Older versions of ADB do not trigger the confirmation request introduced with Android 4.2.2, therefore MyPhoneExplorer can't establish an ADB connection over USB.
Simply copy the three files adb.exe, AdbWinApi.dll und AdbWinUsbApi.dll to MyPhoneExplerer's DLL folder (usually "C:\Program Files\MyPhoneExplorer\DLL" (backup the existing files prior to copying the new ones)."
