[Q] Bootloop Problem - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Need your help guys. I'm currently on the Superbean Rom and it had been working brilliantly... until i screwed it up. Recently downloaded the new google keyboard and moved it to system/app and set permissions and all. But it has put my phone into an endless bootloop. Is there any way I can remove this app without having to do a wipe? Also i'm using Philz recovery.

Try flashing the same ROM again without a wipe and see if that helps.

[Q] Newbie, screwed hero while trying to root help!

Alright guys, I screwed up somewhere. was following the newbie guide. but i think irooted before downloading the recovery app now phone is lagging, force closing shutting off . screwed basicly. can it be saved?
try downloading rom manager...and try to flash clockwork recovery(it's the first on top)...do you have any SU...i'm not sure what the newbie way of root is and do you have nand back up...well try flashing the CW recovery in rom manager and see if you can make a nand back up(in rom manager is Back up current rom, or reboot in recovery and from nand - > back up)from there ->try flashing a rom( i recomend AOSP 0.9.8)
when you download it read the instructions on how to flash(it's not hard just dont forget to wipe everything)
good luck to you...hope i helped....
I ran into the same thing after using z4root on my phone. All I had to do was restart the phone and it started working fine and kept the superuser access since I used the Permanent root option.

Boot Loop

Please Help I installed a custum ROM and now I am stuck in a loop a skull comes up and droid and it continues till the battery is dies. I have tried to factory reset and nothing the only way to turn it off is to remove the battery can someone please Help
If the ROM is what's causing the problem, doing a factory reset won't change anything; it'll stil keep the same ROM in place. What you might want to do is download a more popular ROM, like a CM7 nightly, put it on your microSD card (using another phone or a microSD adapter, of course) and boot into recovery and flash that.
If that doesn't work, I dunno then. I got a bootloop the other day after using ROM Manager to flash a new kernel. Turns out it was the kernel because after a factory reset, it booted up fine. So I just chose another kernel and it's all good now.
You just might have a screwy ROM. Try reflashing it if you can. What was the custom ROM, btw?
Yeah I'd agree with the above; install another ROM and make sure to wipe cache and dalvik and if it still doesn't work wipe data as well. Note that wiping data will wipe pretty-much everything on your phones memory (SMS messages, contacts, accounts etc)
when it is cm7 than you should take an other kernel
Please, if you are experiencing random reboots (that involve the M logo) or prolonged screen freezes, you should revert to an older beta kernel that is free of the DSI errors. To do so, replace the boot.img in the update-cm-7...zip package with this one (from 0.04 version): http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod4milestone/downloads/detail?name=bootimg0.04.zip

Stole that from another Thread:
_Flash with any rom you have
_Milestone will auto reboot after flash done and loop
_Don't worry about that, remove battery in 5s and re-plugin
_Turn on your milestone: hold X and POWER to access Recovery. Select Wipe and reboot
Do you have a Droid or a Milestone? If you have a Milestone, which country is the device from?
I had a boot loop issue too on my UK Milestone when I tried to install CM6.1.2, version 28.01.2011 0.07-11.01.28. (http://android.doshaska.net/cm6)
This is what I did to fix the problem...
- Flashed UK 2.1 SBF file
- Flashed Vulnerability Recovery
- Rooted the phone
- Installed and booted into OpenRecovery
- Installed 15.01.2011 0.06-11.01.15 version (phone booted fine)
- Rebooted into OpenRecovery > Wiped Dalvik Cache
- Applied 28.01.2011 0.07-11.01.28 version
One more thing, you may need to update and/or change your baseband files.
I hope this helps.
Thx for the help guys I,m back up an running. Greatly appreciated

[Q] Noob in Need. Note in NoDroidLand

Hello All,
I rooted for the first time my Note 2 weeks ago, just with the Basic CMW and proper root to my kernel. It worked fine, but I wanted more, so I decided to try RR by Eybee.
Downloaded the RR v20, passed it to my SD Card.
I wiped the phone through CMW.
Flashed the .zip file.
I'm now stuck on the initial loading screen of Rocket Rom, it just keeps restarting.
I know I ****ed up someway, and would really appreciate someone's help...
Ty
I hope you did a nandroid back up in recovery before you flashed? Because if you didn't you are indeed up creek without a paddle. It is always recommended to do a backup before you flash anything through recovery. If you didnt then go on you're computer download another rom to you're ad card go into recovery and flash it or get the original ruu rom and flash that.

No I have not.. I did full sys+data recovery through Titanium backup. I can't access CMW , to be honest I only did it through the phone itself... I can only access the Download Mode and tried to flash back the ROM I used to root the phone, which was useless.
Am I missing some really obvious way to access CMW without being able to initialize the phone?

Found it:
Going to wipe, resintall root that worked and go from there ty.
Edited:
Reinstalled Rocket Rom through CMW (Up Vol+Power Button+Menu)
Wiped.
Reinstalled.
Working

Saving phone from being stuck at ROM boot animation

Hi everyone,
I'm using ICS333 ROM.
Yesterday I installed an app (it was XMBC for android), and it gave me an FC. So I restarted hoping that will fix it.
What it did was getting me stuck at ROM boot animation. I managed to reflash the ROM and it worked, but then, downloaded that app again (thought that maybe it did not work because I changed my DPI). I then tried to reflash the ROM again but this time the phone did not boot.
I tried flashing Devil kernel and using the Aroma file manager to delete the app's apk from the folder /data/app but this did not work.
Fourtently I had a nandroid backup which I restored, though I wanted to avoid it because it was somewhat old.
What I wanted to ask is, if there was something else I could have done, so that if it happens again I would be smarter in the future.
Thank you.
I forgot to mention - I also tried accessing safe mode but without success. Has anyone succeeded in going into safe mode in ICS?

[Q] Xposed Caused Boot loop - HELP!!!!

Hello. I am completely new to xda and I need help. I recently began tinkering with android. I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy Centura through Tracfone. It was rooted using the poot method with SuperSU running as a system app and running stock rom, no custom recovery. All was well until I tried to install xposed. The installer would crash so I used ES explorer to move the xposed apk into the system apps. I changed the permission to rw r r, rebooted, and am now stuck in a boot loop. I tried going into recovery, factory reset, taking the battery out, still nothing. Could someone please help! I have no knowledge of cwm or odin, etc. and have never flashed anything. PLEASE give a STEP BY STEP guide on how to get back to normal!!! Thanks!

Try to get your hands on the official firmware of your device. The forums specific to your device is a good place to start.
When you installed Xposed it should have created a .zip file on your sdcard called
Xposed-disabler-recovery.zip
Flash it.
EDIT: No custom recovery = do what above poster said.

Firstly Close the Phone (Plug out battery and Plug in)
