So I had a perfect install of CM10.1.
Wanted to revert to kinology for a bit. Booted to recovery and backed up CM10.1
Booted back into CM10.1 and copied over the kinology files
Back into recovery and wipe all except sdcard and install
reboot into bootloop (stuck on blue kindle fire logo)
try again , same
try to restore CM10.1 - its not there!
checked md5sums - fine
I can't even mount usb in recovery
Any ideas?
Sorted.
Found an old kinology backup and adb pushed it.
Restored fine and booted.
Went back to recovery and did a fresh install of kinology - ONLY THIS TIME I didn't use the wipe script - worked and booted fine.

Hi all,
I've got a Nook HD+ running CM10.1 with the hybrid SD card installation (many thanks to everyone who helped develop this - it rocks! ),
and I'm having issues whenever I reboot the device.
When left alone, 9 times out of 10 it will just stay on the Cyanogenmod animation indefinitely (well 10 minutes is the most I've left it)....
It always seems to see the SD card as it never just reboots to stock (always see the Cyanogenmod boot logo) so I can get into CWM or boot the nook to stock.
The only way I seem to be able to get it to boot consistently is to boot into CWM is to re-flash the CM10.1 rom / load the converter zip and the reboot from CWM.
I've installed quick boot into CM10.1 but I've nat managed to get it to install into stock yet as I'm getting the 'Installation Blocked' message - So I'm guessing that I need to sideload that in from my PC (unless I'm missing an obvious way to install this via the stock Nook interface?)
Does everyone else have this issue?
It's not the end of the world as I'll probably only have to boot from cold if I have a crash, but it would be good to know if there are any more graceful solutions out there....?
Also, is there a way to get your PC (windows 7) to read the large partition on the SD card after it has been imaged (so you can write files to it directly)?
Thanks for you help
Macca
When it keeps getting stuck on the boot animation, try going to CWM and the advanced menu and wipe dalvik cache and see if it boots ok. If that does not work, just try flashing the converter without reflashing the CM.
To put quick boot on stock you need to root stock and add at least the extras zip so that unknown sources is authorized. But I recommend the whole gaps + extra zip. Quick boot will not work without root.
And no, there is no way for Windows to see the sdcard partition by directly inserting the card in the PC. You must leave the card in the Nook and use the USB cable.

Thanks for the quick reply mate,
I'll try just clearing the dalvik cache next time.
Thanks for clearing up the quick boot thing - I'll root the stock later tonight.
Cheers

Hello again mate,
I might need a little more help it would seem.......
I had read a reply you had posted in another thread that I should be able to just boot into CWM and flash the stock Nook ROM with your zips (even though I already have hybrid CM10.1 installed.
So - I did just that....
Before doing any of this I did do a backup in CWM
I downloaded "NookHD-HDplus-Universal-Root-rev2-(02.02.13).zip" and "NookHD-HDplus-Gapps+Extras.zip" to my internal memory, booted into CWM and Flashed both zip files (universal root rev 2 first).
When I rebooted, I forgot to hold down the nook key to boot to stock and I ended up in CM10.1 but flashing the zips above seemed to have messed around with CM10.1 as I had no apps pinned and the dialogue box asking about which launcher I wanted popped up....?
So I went back into CWM did a restore and re-flashed CM10.1 / Converter.zip's and my CM10.1 installation is now back to normal.
However, it still looks like the stock is rooted as I get the launcher dialogue box and have assess to the google app store etc...
Quick boot still won't work though as it's saying that it can't detect that the device is rooted....
So, If you managed to make it through all that - What did I do wrong and how badly have I messed my nook up?
What do I need to do to successfully root my stock?
Thanks again for your help
Macca
I might have figured it out myself now...
I didn't remove the SD card from the nook after rooting stock before rebooting out of CWM.
I've just re-rooted stock, took the SD card out and then rebooted and it took me into the rooted stock without any issues (quick boot now works as well )
CM10.1 also seems to be happy so it looks like I'm golden (it booted 1st time after quick booting out of stock)
Cheers

Hello all.
I recently started modifying my 2 Kindle fire HD 7". I tried to install Hashcode's latest rom. Everything seems to go fine, but in the end the rom is stuck at the cyanogen loading logo.
I followed the following steps :
1 / brick my kindle
2 / Buy a factory cable, go to fastboot, use Kindle First aide to restore my kindle to rooted 7.2.3
3 / Follow Hashcode's steps to install TWRP
4 / My kindle can now boot normally, or in recovery. Copy the 2 latest roms from hashcode and gapps on the memory.
5 / in recovery, wipe -> cache , davlik cache, then system
6 / install the latest rom
7 / Re-wipe cache and davlik cache
8 / reboot system.
right after reboot, I see the cyanogen spinning logo for a while.
Then "optimizing aplications xx/58"
Then reboot.
Cyanogen logo again, for a while
Then, sometime, the lock screen very briefly shows up. For a short second. And before I can do anything, it reboots again.
I tried both 514 and latest build from hashcode. They both behave the same way.
Sadly, I did not save an amazon rom on the SDCARD (silly me) so I can't try to go back to amazon stock. Unless I restore the whole thing from kffirstaide, but it's taking so long I'd really like an alternative.
Funny thing is, on my first kindle (I have 2) I had the same problem 2 or 3 time. I fiddled with it a bit, I think I re-installed the rom without wiping anything, and it worked. And I am very happy with the rom.
But I have been trying to do the same with the 2nd one for 2 days, and nothing seems to work.
So, did this happen to anyone before ?
What are the exact steps I should take to flash a rom : what should and shouldn't be wiped, in what order ?
Is it possible that TWRP was incorrectly installed ?
Also, I can't seem to either mount usb storage when in recovery, or make sideload works. Did anybody manage that with a KFHD7 ? How ? It could allow me to try amazon stock rom without restrating the whole process ...
Thanks in advance for any help.

I personally never had this happen to me but it seems you forgot to flash gapps and the rom seperately. If you need a backup of the amazon os I have one because, I switch every 15min to check performance. I can give you a twrp backup it will work though. Also what guide did you use because I think you should have used this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2271909 I used to root and install CM10. I encounter the same problem when trying to mount to the computer in twrp, its an issue, but not the main problem. Is it a problem currently or is it working? But use that guide and tell me how it works for you.
I flashed ONLY the rom ... the gapps where on the memory for later flashing.
But guesss what, I just randomly succeded.
Here is what I did
- Wipe cache / davlik cache / system / factory reset (in that order)
- Flash EVERYTHING at the same time. Meaning a rom (the 514 from hashcode) gapps, and the 2 zip for acid audio. I put them all in install before flashing.
- Do NOT re-wipe anything after flash. Just reboot
And it worked ...
So I've got an HTC One on T-Mo. The CM10.1 nightly build (8/1) I had installed worked fine for a while.
Yesterday, it rebooted on its own a few times, and each time, everything I'd done since around 7 AM decided to undo itself. Texts I received went missing, apps un-updated, files on internal storage erased themselves. Every time I reboot the phone, it undoes whatever I've done. Rebooting into recovery deletes whatever zip I meant to flash!
So I already had one of the GE ROMs on internal storage. Thought I'd try flashing that. So I went into CWM, formatted /system and /data, flashed the GE ROM, wiped Dalvik, the whole deal. When I rebooted, I was once again greeted with CM10.1 the way I'd left it yesterday morning.
Restoring from a backup doesn't work either.
Tried to flash TWRP over CWM through ADB, rebooted recovery, and it's still CWM.
I'm at a loss. I can't wipe or flash or put files on my phone. Any ideas?

Solved. eMMC isn't writing, warranty replacement incoming.
I'm using CM11 on my 9305 now for more than a year. After testing twrp and phillz recovery, cm11 gets stuck in the boot animation.
even factory and cache reset or restoring an old backup do not work for me.
As a last attempt I used heimdall to flash the very same cwm i had before, delete everything besides external sd (even the internal "sd card") and restore an old backup
any ideas?
plz delete. I reflashed entire stock-rom, afterwards using CWM and CM11 everythings works now.
I switched to Cyanogenmod sometime last year but recently became dissatisfied. I wanted to restore my Nook HD+ to factory stock.
So I put in my original bootable SD card and chose to restore the backup that I had made just before installing Cyanogenmod. The restore seemed to go ok, but when I restart I just end up in a boot loop until eventually the HD+ goes back into the CWM recovery menu.
After googling for tips I tried clearing the main cache and dalvik cache but to no effect.
Any ideas / links on how to get the Nook back to stock?
I found one link but it seems to suggest that the steps would not work on a recent Cyanogenmod version like I had (my last nightly update was sometime early Oct 2016): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35811322#post35811322 (item 6)
1. Go back to leapinlar's thread that you linked, and download "NookHDplus-emmc-stock-recovery-rev0-(05.16.13).zip", which is the stock recovery.
2. Use your bootable SD to flash the stock recovery on the Nook.
3. Remove the microSD from the tablet, and boot into stock recovery by holding home and both volume buttons while turning on the tablet.
4. Follow the instructions to factory reset the device
So I have been stuck in a boot loop. I downloaded the zip from leainlar thread. I keep trying to boot the nook but it won't work.
It says there is an error mounting the sdcard. I'm at a loss. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
