Does I9000M (Bell) works with Mobilicity? I have a Bell Note which works with Mobilicity. My Galaxy S is sitting around dark. I really want to use my Galaxy S sometimes Just for a change. Is there any Modem which I can flash to make it work with Galaxy s?
Thanks
Short answer is no.
Mobilicity and Bell don't use the same frequency band.
Tried my brother's sim card and it didn't work.
i also would say no due to differency but maybe other hav some 'shortcut' method that wouldnt brick ur fone by changing modem

Thank you Guys. I just thought that it is possible to flash a different modem because I am using a different modem on my note and works with Mobilicity. I remember there was a thread where people were trying to get it work with AWS bands. I guess, No Success yet.

Installed Overcome 1.6.3 and Kernal 2.1.6 to my TMOUSA TAB. I also Unlocked via RotoHammer Hex Edit fix. I put in a Canadian Telus SIM card but the phone always gets signal and but it shows its on Roaming and wont make a phone call with the App. Do I need to reflash a different modem file that is compatible with Canadian Networks? Thanks!!

follow the howto unlock phone calls guide under xda galaxy tab bible, and try flashing the (modem_bell_i9000) modem.bin provided. (works great for me under overcome 1.6.4).
And if you would like to return the favor... and if you have a 5ghz dual-band router, please read my XDA post about Galaxy Tab Wireless-N at 5ghz. I could really use some constructive feedback there.
I hate to tell you this but unless you switch to Wind, you are SOL with Telus as they use the same spectrum as Bell/ATT/Rogers etc. Wind is like TMO in the states.

So the Tmobile versions don't support the other bands? If that is the case, I didn't know that.
I think Mobilicity.ca works on the same (AWS?) frequency as WIND also though.

Maybe. I can't see them working on some other frequency that nobody else uses. Maybe phone their tech support and ask if a TMob phone will work? Good luck to you.

The only way to get voice on your t-mobile tab is to find the roto modem switcher thread, and flash the roto-2g modem from there. Don't bother with the switch set up, because you won't get 3g anyway.
Title says it all. Got an ATT refurb but I have tzones with tmobile and would love to do better then edge. I would think that the hardware would be the same and all I need is just to use a TMO modem.
I would appreciate it if someone can tell me if this can be done.
Also, can I alter the IMEI so TMO will think that I have a different device? I currently have a Nokia that I use and I would love to "clone" it so I dont start getting charged for a tablet. I am only planning to connect the tab via 3G once in a while.
Sorry no, so many threads say only 2G+voice or 3G using rotohammers switcher
Attempting to alter imei is frowned upon.
Add some money promise to the bounty for a tmous 3G+voice modem to be cooked

I think that you missed my point, I am asking only about TMO 3G on ATT tab not for voice. And the devs that do this do this for fun, $1K will not get you someone for this type of a problem as I understand that this is very hard or not possible at this point with available modes out there.
Att uses different 3g frequencies than t-mobile. I don't think there is a way to change a tab's frequencies; this is an attribute of the hardware/radio.
It would be cool to do what you ask, but you can't.

Hi,
I just came back up from the states for vacation and I was using my galaxy s roaming. It was working perfectly fine down there but when I came back up to Canada, my phone couldn't connect to Bell. It sees rogers and I connect to it for "SOS calling only" but it can't find the Bell networks. Any help?
Thanks
What modem are you running? Also did something happen to your APN settings?
Swyped from a galaxy far far away.
I'm using JL2 and am on MIUI. My APN settings are still there. The exact same as before.
You must be on a different modem than jl2 because it has roaming issues in the states, that's why they released KC1.

Well, when i was in the states, i was on kc1 but when i came back up, i noticed that i couldn't connect to Bell. I thought that flashing to JC2 may help but it didn't.
In perkas file stash app there are 850 enabled modems and there is a kc1 modem there you could try. It Is cwm flashable also.

I'm pretty sure its not the modem. I've already flashed multiple that are confirmed to work on Bell and have the 850 frequency.
I did have a problem one or two times after flashing a new rom and then our modem and it didn't work right away, but eventually it worked fine. Maybe if you give it some time it may work. Are you in a 1900 band area or 850 only?

I live in a pretty big city so I would guess that I would have both frequencies. The phones been in this state for a good 24 hours now so I don't think waitings going to help. Do you think it may have something to do with the SIM?
It is possible that there is a problem with the sim. They aren't indestructible. You could try someone else's sim.

There was some buzz a couple of weeks back about reflashing the modems in the Samsung Galaxy Note to gain access to T-Mobile's HSPA+ network.
Is there anything comparable for the Samsung Captivate? I realize we're talking about 3G here and not LTE. I want to take my Captivate, which is SIM unlocked, to My Simple Mobile. But they run off T-Mobile's network. I've searched around and have come up empty.
FWIW, I'm running CM7 and not the stock ROM.
I believe u would only b able to get the Edge on T mobile. No 3g.

The Captivate's hardware isn't physically capable of HSPA+. I haven't heard about using these modems, but as stated above, usually the deal with T-Mobile is EDGE only. I don't think Vibrant (T-Mobile) modems work, so there doesn't seem to be a solution.
captivate technically is a 3g device, we only get hspa by using a re-oriented i9000 kernel and an i9000 modem. because its the same hardware... <backspace rant>

Only EDGE
You can only get EDGE on your Captivate. It is a hardware issue. You cannot do anything about it. I have mine running on T-Mo and unless somebody has a way of physically changing the hardware to upgrade the capability it will never be more than a fake 3G because EDGE isn't even really 3G. It is more like 2.75 G if there was such a thing.
Hi,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000.
Can someone tell me if it's possible to flash a Tmobile Radio Modem to get Tmobile USA 3G/4G/HSPA+?
I know it's been confirmed that an AT&T Galaxy Not i717 will work with Tmobile 4G/HSPA+ if it's properly flashed with Tmobile modem.
Has anyone tried the method like this link below but flashed to an GT-N7000 (International Version):
http://rootgalaxynote.com/galaxy-no...e-3g4g-hspa-on-your-att-galaxy-note-sgh-i717/
Please help because I don't want to take the risk to brick my Note N7000.
TIA
Does not work. Tmo in usa is limited to 2g only except in tiny pockets where tmo has installed the frequencies used by att on their own network. This is supposedly mostly for iphone users on tmo, and may be extended. But aside from these tiny pockets, 2g ONLY.

hmm N7000 and the I717 have totally different hardware radios and other internal stuffs....
I think 2G means EDGE. Flashing Tmo modem on an unlock N7000 'might' work in receiving 3G/4G HSPA* but it might a the end of the day, change back to Edge again....
What that guy on your video showed is he can get 4G signals on Tmo but the big question on that is... is it always persistent throughout at the end of the day (that his phone can get the real thing?)
My take, don't install something that's only a temporary fix if it just means temporary only....
