HTC One *** RELOCKED *** to *** LOCKED *** - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

HI to all,
After putting my HTC one in S-off and have changed my CID VODAP405 to HTC__405 and set ./revone -r to lock the phone...,
I've always seen the writing RELOCKED in place of LOCKED on my Bootloader... Even using the ruu file does not change the words LOCKED...
And for this reason I thought and test to change this diciture on hboot_signedbyaa.img v1.44.0000 of v1.29.401.12 OTA file....
The diciture is at offset 000ee7e4/5 of hboot file.. and you can change 52 45 to 00 00 or cut this two locations and save hboot file and flash...
Does anyone else know if there is a command to do the same thing without changing the file hboot img?
Best Regards and pardon my bad english :fingers-crossed:

You can also use ./revone -l
Which also turns the status to locked..
You will still have S-OFF so... can still flash anythign you want

Why do you have this posted in the android development forum?

if you want it to say locked don't run ./revone -r that will relock. you need to ./revone -l

Anyone say because after relock the htc one whit ./revone s 3 - l or ./revone -r the command :
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
Not unlocked my htc ? I say always Locked or ReLocked??

Oh god why. Please don't start hex editing hboots there's going to be a ten fold increase in hard bricks now because of s off. Someone should make a Do Not list for s off

Actually you might not need soff to use revone. Just push it to the media/local/tmp folder, then in that directory on a terminal emulator type chmod 755 revone

[HOW-TO] Return Your Device to S-ON after S-OFF

PLEASE READ: This will only work on a stock, signed S-OFF HBOOT. Do not try this on a patched or ENG HBOOT or the result will be a permanent hard brick.
1. Boot into fastboot on your device
2. Open a terminal or command prompt and navigate to where your fastboot binary is.
3. Type the following commands:
Code:
fastboot devices
Ensure your device is listed
_________________________________
Code:
fastboot oem readsecureflag
The output should read something like: secure_flag: 0
_________________________________
Code:
fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
_________________________________
Last:
Code:
fastboot reboot bootloader
Verify that your device is now S-ON

It will, just as long as you chose the non-patched hboot without fastboot commands.
Just had to use this method.
Used the PH39IMG to get back to a stock hboot and ran the commands. Confirmed that it does display locked in hboot.
Unlocked, reflashed recovery.. and I am good to go s-on

So for all intents and purposes, it will look like it was never HTC Unlocked then? My g/f has a Vivid, and she's very picky about going to the darkside of rooting, because she doesn't want her warranty voided. If it can look like it's been returned to stock, that would help.
I cant get it to say ***LOCKED*** I locked hboot, ran GB RUU, ran ICS RUU, followed your steps, fastboot oem readsecureflag

[Q] S-OFF using moonshine method

I have some questions regarding using moonshine method.
1. Will it give me superCID after S-off or is there and option to change it?
2. Can we go back to S-ON and previous CID using moonshine?
3. Any bad experience users had using/warning/tips?
I have black HTC One International Edition, CID HTC_001
Hello,
I've s-offed my One with revone. It's very simple. And after this you can change your CID. But you doesn't need the Super CID.
With revone you can go back to s-on.

1. No, you have to do it yourself. It's pretty easy. Go to bootloader after s-off. open ADB and. write: fastboot oem writecid 11111111
Yer done.
2 yes, read http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42806823.
You can change cid whenever to whatever. Use previous command as in 1st answer.
3. Just read and follow each step in instructions carefully. You should be fine. Sometimes other can write a better guide than OP. As what I found in revone thread.

any clue how to fix this?
I've updated all the HTC drivers, and adb drivers. My device is turned On, connected to PC via USB, with USB Debugging enabled.
Sorry for being a noob here...whats CID? And whats the advantage of changing CID?

Running RUUs do not affect S-Off status.
Don't know if this is what you are trying to accomplish, don't believe it undoes anything, but might make it look stock, think there was another thread around somewhere, did not really read the thread.

Do NOT run the secureflag 3 command to s-on. You will brick the phone. You need to run the ruu first so you have a stock, SIGNED hboot first. After the ruu is complete then go into fastboot and run
fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
if you do it with the moonshine hboot on the phone it will never turn on again.

This is correct. You never want to writesecureflag with an unsigned hboot.
@mhsbrian That is what I said. Running an RUU doesn't affect your S-Off. You can run RUUs for different devices with S-Off if you tried. (but I wouldn't)

You didn't understand what I was saying. I'm saying in order to run a Ruu normally you have to relock the bootloader first before you can run it. With s-off, you can just Ruu without relocking I already understand that soff isn't affected by Ruu.

What you need to do is, relock bootloader, run lastest RUU, unlock bootloader, s-off with revone (even tho you still are s-off), s-on with revone reboot into bootloader run writesecureflag 3, reboot to system, then reboot to bootloader and then run RUU one more time and bam you got locked bootloader again (not relocked)

[Q] S-off guide?

Ok so Im somewhat of a noob so I was wondering if any experts can help me out?
I wanted to get S-off on my HTC one so I can change my MID (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2322820)
I have a few problems with S-off?
Firstly, do I have to have my phone rooted to get s-off?
If yes, then I have to unlock the boot loader first and then root it right? If so can you give me a simple guide that shows how to unlock the bootloader followed by rooting?
Secondly, Can you give me a link to a SIMPLE guide to get s-off?

Using adb commands while booted in the stock Rom.
No you can be fully stock while using the revone guide if you don't want to unlock via the HTCdev method.
You only need to be rooted if you want to s-off without the use of a pc (using terminal emulator on your device).

I don't think you should be messing with S-Off when you don't really know what you're doing and haven't even got adb installed
Also, changing your MID can be risky and is a lot trickier than simple S-Off, which you should know how to do. I know someone who bricked their phone changing the MID.

But on the other hand, I really need the 4.2.2 update. I have some problems with the current one.

I started doing what you said before you put this post.
I did the same thing but in step 3 I just changed the CID to HTC__Y13 instead of fastboot oem writecid 11111111.
When I rebooted I got the update for 4.2.2 and downloaded it too. But when installing it reboots into recovery and says aborted.
Do I have to to steps 4 5 6 7 8 or is there way to just install the downloaded OTA?

Returning to stock for warranty

Hi.
Here's my problem.
I work in the steel industry and keep getting fine metal particals on my HTC one speakers. I blew them only with my mouth so no real force behind it to get rid of the crap build up.
Now both my speakers are crackling really bad. Even at low volume.
Rand HTC this morning to arrainge a repair.
Problem is I'm rooted, s-off and running android revolution hd.
Wasn't planning on running back to stock. What's best prosedure to do this?

If you can use revone to relock and remove the tampered from your H-BOOT.
Then use an RUU to flash back to stock, and that should then have you back at stock with S-On and no tampered notice
Cheers mate Il try that.
I'm gutted. 10 days it's gona take.

If i'm not mistaken you will need to flash it first with the RUU and then relock it.
this is what i did
lock bootloader
revone -t to remove tampered and revone -l to change relocked to locked
run RUU
then fastboot oem writesecureflag 3 gives you s-on
back to stock, bootloader says locked, no tampered and s-on

I've managed to restore a backup of stock 4.1.2 firmware I had that I didn't realise.
Can I not just relock and s-on now without the ruu?

Yeah you should be able to relock now and gain S-On again. If you are completly sure that its stock.
But keep in mind the recovery will need to be flashed to stock.
So I would still advice doing the RUU to be on the safe side.
ive managed to relock bootloader and use revone to gain s on again.
having issues now removing the TAMPERED label.
keep getting an error
revone failed (error code = -2)
any ideas

Tampered means you have unsigned software installed, probably recovery is not stock.
Everything you need is Here

Tempered means you have unlocked your bootloader, revone doesnt work with other Hboot version but 1.44
That why you're getting that error.
Also, you cant get s-on by revone

im on hboot 1.44 and used revone for s-off and then back to s-on. ive relocked my bootloader and on stock 4.1.2 rooted.
just want the tampered removed so i can get the speakers sorted out on warrenty.
cant send it with tampered displayed, they wont touch it.
would doing the over the air to 4,2,2 do this?
if its the recovery how do i flash stock recovery?

Upgrate will not help you to remove tampered tag.. are you on hboot 1.44 now?
And does ./revone -t work on it?
