Hi,
I flashed GB 2.3.3 (CF-ROOT 3.3) when it first came up and everything worked fine. Today I decided to check my bootloader. I installed the patch and applied it because the application said: SIGNED. When I rebooted the tab, here is what happened:
A lot of horizontal lines (green, blue, white....etc) -----> then samsung logo appeared -----> then horizontal lines again ---> then the tab main screen appeared.
The tab works fine and now the patch said "YOU ARE SAFE".
I noticed that I lost the recovery mode. ie. When I go to CWM manager ---> Recovery ---> Reboot into ClockWorkMod recovery, the tab gets stuck on samsung logo with these horizontal lines. (Same thing with Power on + Volume up )
What Should I do please ? Flash again 2.3.3 ?
Thanks in advanced.
Problem resolved. Reflashed 2.3.3 again.
Sorry to bother.

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT DO THAT AGAIN. Flashing bootloader is practically the only way to BRICK the tab beyond repair except by sending to samsung. What you did btw was downgrade the bootloaders of your tab which is an extremely risky business.
THE GB bootloaders are signed yes but are not secured and they are needed for GB to boot making that patch pointless since kernels and mods can be installed whether bootloaders are signed or not.
Try not to flash bootloader. But some kernels will distort the boot screen. CM7 an to MoDaCo kernels for example for this, but it's nothing to worry about.

Darkpal,
It's working fine now. I got confused with Overcome 2 installation guide where it says to check bootloader and apply the patch.
Am I safe now?

Hi,
In my case, i was able to go to download mode and therefore the tab was recognized in Odin. So I just re-flashed 2.3.3 again following Chainfire thread in the Dev section.
SGT Running Overcome 2.0.0 RC1
Hi
Thank you so much. My Tab is running again :-D.
Which Overcome How-To do you use?
Thanks again

I noticed that sometimes I had to go in the PC device manager and delete the drivers for the tab and let Win 7 find and load them again, and as soon as that's done ODIN finds the tab and I was able to reflash. I "soft bricked" my tab about 6 times trying different ROM's and Kernals, and even an app or two. I found this practice of deleting and reloading the drivers the only way to save the tab.

Golotab,
I'm happy you're up and running again. For Overcome, just follow these instructions http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074759
it's very easy. Just don't patch the bootloader because you are already on 2.3.3
Good luck

Hi, I am facing the same situation. I just hope someone can clarify for me.
Instead of refresh 2.3.3 back, can I just follow the line (quoted) for OVERCOME??
After Overcome, can I flash MIUI ROM???
Thanks in advance.

Yes you can. Restock then flash overcome.
If you are already on overcome, you can flash Miui on the top (because you are already on ext4 system)
I hope that helps

Hello,
Ik bricked my phone last week. Did something stupid, tried to format with CMW.zip. Very bad i know.
Because i needed the phone asap, i send it to samsung
Went to pick it up today, with the message that i lost my warranty. I can live with that.
When i turn on my device i get the message that there is no firmware installed and i need to connect it to samsung KIES.
What do you guys recommend? I can get in Download Mode, but not in CWM menu. Possible they removed the failed root i installed before.
I cannot connect to KIES, think you all know KIES is a sh*t program.
What do you guys advise me? Root again trough download mode and install CM, or try and connect to KIES with different PC.
Regards,
Joao

Thanks for your reply, i have no idea why Samsung gave me a blank firmware back. Can i just update it with http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3
Here i can find the stock ROM's.
You think Samsung change the Motherboard? Because they told me i lost my warranty and i cannot update legaly anymore...
Regards
Samsung usually loads the firmware and returns the phone. Now sure why no in in this case.
Yes you can download the stock firmware from sammobile.com and flash via odin. But if you choosing ics make sure not to wipe till a safe kernel is installed. I would suggest philz. That way the phone will be rooted as well. Hope that have changed the mb.
Flash the firmware and hope for the best.

In that mode (secondary download mode) you should be able to flash if Odin detects.
Sometimes you need to keep trying until suddenly Odin detects it, and flash away.

Hi priyana,
I do have the same problem with my Galaxy Tab GT-P1000 and I am getting the same screen.
Did flash my device with Odin but the wrong something cwm10.x , forgot which one I used (well done I know )
It is a Vodafone (Germany) Galaxy Tab 7 (GT-P1000).
May I ask some questions:
What do you mean with "flash it away" what do you suggest him to use for flashing?
What is it? A Recovery? A Bootloader ...? And where can one find/get it?
Stupid questions - I got confused while reading thousands of threads on different websites...
But anyway, I would be thankful if you could point me to the right file I could use to flash on my Galaxy Tab ...
Thanks
Hi Hotstart,
I mean flash a stock ROM in Odin once Odin see the tab.
One good complete ROM is gb-stock-save-v5 that Team Overcome packed together.
Follow my signature.
There is that and a PDF guide, you need the page 7 of it for what to put in Odin.
Not for ruthlessbeatle, as this is for GSM P1000 only.

Hi priyana,
thank you for your advice!
Currently I am stuck because in the middle of the flashing process the tab switched off maybe due to a low battery.
But is starting with the secondary download screen again - so I am hoping to be able to load it bit better for the next try.
Will let you know whatever outcome there will be.
Cheers
My sister owns this tab, and she wanted me to update its firmware from stock 2.2 (froyo) to 2.3.6 (gingerbread). I followed a guide on youtube, and I downloaded the files provided in the description tab. The flashing went smoothly, but after rebooting, the tab won't get past the samsung logo. Have I killed her tab? If I did, she'd kill me too Please help..
Additional info:
Model: GT-P1000
FCC ID: A3LGTP1000
I think she bought the tab in germany, if so then what firmware should I download?
Is it possible to just download any FW file to use for flashing? If not can anyone please direct me to the proper firmware?
I've been googling for a day..Download 2 firmwares but still no luck.. also tried wiping user data and cache.
Thanks for any help..much appreciated!
You need to restore via Odin first download Odin then head over to this link
http://allkindfile.blogspot.com/2012/07/odin-flasher-and-original-ops-pit-file.html?m=1 scroll down to the bottom and find the Samsung galaxy tab pit for the gt-p1000 after that go to this link http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ and search your tablet in the search box and it should say Germany on it download that file. Boit into download mode i believe its voljme down + power. Open Odin and click pit and open the pit file you downloaded. Then click PDA and find the firmware you got from the last link. Then just hit start and you should be good to go

Anyhow i downloaded the pit(s) for my device, but i got 4 pit files, (gt-p1000_mr, pit-909, pit-EUR and pit-p1) which one do i have to use?
Also i already downloaded 2 germany firmwares, one is released 2011, the other 2012. Theyre both at version 2.3.6, should i use them? or do i have to download a 2.2 froyo firmware (you said restore)
I'm really confused, but i'll try them all now. thanks very much!!!!!!

I forgot to mention did you boot into recovery and wipe data and see if you got it to boot? Often times after an update you have to boot into stock recovery and wipe cache and factory reset but if that failes just use the pit gt-p1000 and the firmware I would try froyo then if that fails to work do 2011 then if that don't work try 2012 but always use the pit file if none of these work then it means your internal sdcard gave out. Also before trying all of this try doing a factory reset in recovery and if you get errors post a screenshot of it so I get a better idea of what happened. Hope this helps
EDIT: sorry just read the part where u already did the factory reset and wipe cache was it in stock recovery? And did you get any errors?

Yes i did try factory resetting and wiping off cache data every flash/recovery i do, but it doesnt help. when i reset userdata, it always says that it cannot access "system/csc/via/something", and rfs format failed on /dev/block/stl10. I know i'm doing something wrong and i just cant figure it out because there are thousands of threads here, sticky posts doesn't help..im no techie guy but im trying to deal with the situation with positive thinking.. anyway thanks for the help bud, please bear with me until i fix this off..thank you so much..

Oh I see what happened has this tablet previously been rooted or on a custom ROM? Because normally when on a custom ROM specially with our tablets the partition format changes from rfs to ext4 because its faster and more reliable. That being said what your experiencing is your tablet trying to boot but its not the right format because touch wiz only runs on rfs format. This happened to my tablet too when I tried to restore to stock and all I did was flash the pit and the stock firmware in Odin and it booted right up. Took my tablet about 20 minutes the first time to boot up though but it eventually did.

oh, is that the case? but my sister's tab isnt rooted nor had any custom roms before i flashed it. it was on stock firmware.. would it really take that long (20mins+) for a newly flashed device to boot up? approximately how long would should i keep it stuck at the samsung logo before i quit? im willing to wait hours, just for the tab to work. im gonna flash it again using 2.3.6 gingerbread firmware and a pit file using odin, and gonna let it stand until i wake up later and report the results. thank you so much!

I would say wait 20 minutes or just stare at the Samsung logo if it appears to blink and stay at the Samsung logo then your still in a boot loop BTW how did you update the tab? If you did it correctly it should have been just OTA correct? Or did you flash it manually in stock recovery?

i fixed it, finally.
i followed instructions from the Overcome Rom 4.0 tutorials by sos_sifou which is located on the samsung galaxy tab general forum.
first, i downloaded the GB-stock-safe-v5 rom, flash the pda, pit, and the phone modem.bin file. i think what my error really is was i wasn't adding a modem file. after flashing, still i got a couple of errors in recovery mode BUT after it restarted by itself, it booted right away, no 20 minute waiting time. then from there, i was really happy that i managed to fix it but i had gone for a little more. i installed overcome kernel and rom which i was glad i did, its really fast now, and really stable. instructions are easy to follow, you cant miss anything but as pre se, you have to follow everything carefully.
thanks anyway for all the help dude, i wish you also could fix your bricked tab? i read your thread a while back, good luck to you

if i on it now, it will only on the camera flash light as long as i hold the power button and then off the light when i release the button.

i guess i can still get help on reviving it somehow or else i should start planning the burial .
Okay guys, I just got a brand new tmobile note 4. Tried rooting it but something went wrong...
Didnt make a backup either so hopefully you guys can help me.
I installed twrp successfully...but after installing supersu...kept getting the boot loop.
Decided to give up rooting and go back to stock.
Downloaded the latest 5.0.1 stock firmware for my phone but after running it through odin, it keeps failing.
I don't know what to do.
I didn't hard brick it since i can still boot into download mode and twrp recovery. But i already wiped system so i don't have any OS on it now.
Should i just chance it and try and send it back to tmobile for a replacement?
Any feedback would be much appreciated!
