Somebody had luck with that?
I am on CM10.1 and miss the radio receiver
Spirit FM is able to find the channels, seem to work, but no audio comes out.
has it something to do with settings or is it just buggy?
I think this question is already answered please search.
It's available in the General thread as guide.
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda premium app.
Like what I said hit " Thanks" Button.
You can listen to radio on your LG Optimus 4x P880 HD with the app "Spirit FM", if you install "alsa mixer" from the market.
In Alsa Mixer you need to set:
For Speaker Audio
Left SPK Mixer INB2 to ON
Right SPK Mixer INB2 to ON
For Headset Audio
Left HP Mixer INB2 to ON
Right HP Mixer INB2 to ON
Press "settings"-Softkey and "Save Config"
(thx to zicoxx for this)
In Spirit FM you need to change following settings:
To listen to music when screen is off, you also need to enable "Debug" -> "Silent Loop" and restart Spirit FM.
Since the audio is way too loud on the O4X, you need to set "Settings" -> "Audio" -> "Volume Scale" from "100" to "10".
@sPEADy:
no need for lecturing me.
i searched this forum and found nothing, and searching the whole site gave crap for the first hits.
since most people will search _this_ forum for the answer, it should be written here.
most people will appreciate, that they dont need to read a 600+ posts thread anymore to get the information they are searching for.
additionally, the "guide" you metioned is incomplete and partly wrong, and you aren't able to find it when searching for "Spirit FM", because the author spelled it "SpiritFM".
thats why i wrote this post for others.
but you on the other hand are just spamming the forum with your morale conception.
please stop posting, if you have nothing to say. its annoying.

ok, yes I do know I'll probably be flames for making this topic. I did do searching and I do know this is a wide spread issue that has more fixes than I can count. however I haven't been able to find a solution that works on my tilt. here is thr issue:
I just installed ms voice command and I cannot get announcements to work on my bluetooth headset nor will my commands run through my mic (I thought they were earlier but apparently not). I did try the fix that was listed here on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=309822 but that didn't work. and I did a soft reset as well.
plz help. what is the latest way to do this??
I believe the very latest version of VC works out of the box with no issue.
You can check your version in the VC screen... latest is 1.6.19209
Technically i don't know if this has been release to market yet but it is available in the latest AT&T test ROM and has been incorporated into Dutty's 6.1.
Now I haven't tested it yet...BT is next on my list of things to set up on my phone....but apparently everything works.
If you don't want to flash to AT&T Test ROM or Dutty's (based off same ROM) you can look around to see if you can find a release version of 1.6.19209.
Again, i can't confirm 100% that this works, but from other posts I have seen VC works fully on the above.
crap I have 1.6.17913 (the latest I could find) I went through 2 more processes on 2 more topics and they didn't work. I looked for the version you mentioned and couldn't find it. I had used one of dutty's ROM's before but hspda didn't work like the one I have now. but it looks like I might have to switch over.
ok I have the new rom and it's still not working. do I need to init. it from the headset?? if I do then I probably need a reg. hack to make it so my headset doesn't redial when I hold down the button. Also I noticed if I send all audio to my headset (via the control panel's option) the voice from voice command still comes through the handset.....
Apologies if you've already tried this, but I remember from the Hermes Wiki there was a piece about getting VC to work off the bluetooth headset button. It was basically:
- Create a new entry of \Windows\voicecmd.exe in \hkey_local_machine\Software\Oem\VoiceCommand\Path
- Amend the entry in \hkey_local_machine\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\BTAGExtModule to read vcbthag.dll
Obviously, if your Voice Command is installed via cab rather than baked in, the first entry would be \Program Files\Micorsoft Voice Command\voicecmd.exe (might have to search on your phone for it, I've always used cooked in)
It worked on one my little ROM when one of the beta-testers ran up against the same thing.
I did kinda do that on a wim (not knowing fully what I was doing) I made the change so both items in my audio gateway are "vcbthag.dll" but I folowed the rest of you advice aftefr I saw the post. but it didn't work.
my vox 340 still performs the redial function when I hold down the call button. should I run a search through my registry to see if my bt is using another section I don't know about?? and if I should what is the redial command in the registry?? I would be content with at least finding that at the moment.
On a side not....the new dutty rom doesn't have touchflow??
As an update I did try Jetware at: http://www.jetwaremobile.com/install.htm and it didn't work.
I really am starting to think that the problem is that I need to initialize the voice command through my headset but nothing I do changes the headset command from redial.
So if the announcements seem to come and go with VC, I have seen this "symptom". What I am discovering is that the "ringer" volume level matters as to whether you get announcements or not and the headset in the mix seems to complicate that.
I haven't mapped it out completely yet, I confess. I noted that what you say to VC for ringer level (loud/medium/soft/vibrate) doesn't seem to affect the phone but the phone's volume/vibrate setting does appear to affect annoucements I get. Oh and the pattern isn't the same for calendar announcements getting through versus call announcements.
If anyone out there has already mapped out what VC volume and phone volume settings deliver what announcements, that would be a useful table to look at...
Oh and last bit of potentially useful info -- I have v1.6.17913 and incoming call announcements did NOT work for me out of the box...I had to copy four "update" files onto my device and then it worked just fine. There's a thread on this forum that has a link for those files that you can search for I think.

I know about the file issue and I did try that and it didn't work. Also I updated to dutty's more recent ROM that has 1.6.19209 and it was supposed to work out of the box......but doesn't..... Even when I set it to be the stereo BT I only get the audio from VC if audio was already playing
Hi,
Can any of you wizzards make a reg tweak to add a setting to only vibrate once, only i want to know if its ringing but if im in the middle of something important it does my head in when it vibrates for ages and it so lound.
Thanks a lot
Jason
Chainfire / Nikagl already has, it's in KaiserTweak, which is one of the stickies on top of the forums. (Ringtones section)
If that doesn't do it for you, searching for 'change vibrate kaiser' on this forum using google (see that tab up there) would have given you the manual way with regedit in item #4 and #8.
Please try searching before posting in the future. If you have further questions regarding this topic, ask in one of those threads. This redundant thread is closed.
I posted about this in another thread, but I guess I have a better chance of finding others with the same problem if I create a new one.
When I play mp3's on my Diamond, every 3-4 minutes, the audio halts very briefly before continuing. This is annoying the crap out of me. I've tried:
1) A variety of sw players: WMP, GSPlayer, TCPMP, PocketMusic, same problem.
2) Upping buffer settings and similar on all these players to max, no luck (even buffering the entire song before playback didn't do anything)
3) Flashing my ROM from 1.37 to 1.93 (official), same behaviour. Norwegian ROM btw.
4) Switching my Diamond to flight mode in case WiFi/Edge/3G connections were messing up.
5) Closing all other applications (of course)
It's absolutely driving me up the walls. I'm not using audiobooster. Any suggestions?
congratulations you are the 1,000,000th person to start a thread on this topic.... SEARCH PLEASE!
Got the same Problem. Don't know either why this happens...
I'm using the 0.94 ROM from bElite.
But other than you it's not driving me nuts. I can live with it. Would be nice if it was gone though.

I actually did before creating a thread, I couldn't find any relevant info :/
So I'm sorry, but could you please direct me to any of those threads you speak of?
HI,
Like the man said it is in lots of posts but it can get difficult finding an exact thread in such a busy forum - most threads are mixed subject and noobs can't often find the right terms (lag, in this case).
Music stutters about every 5 minutes for most users on ALL roms.
Some have pointed out how suspiciosuly regular this is...
Some users only report it after playing a few songs.
HTC have yet to admit the fault so a fix may be some way off but nothing most have done has resolved it - it happens even with TF3D off.
I bought the phone primarily as a music player...
BUt thsi forum or HTC have gradually addressed most issues and it will be fixed some time...
yes, i'll kindly go out of my way to find all the threads for you, here are 3 which took me 2 seconds...

well i clicked, SEARCH, typed MUSIC, then selected DIAMOND from the list of forums.
How 'noob' do you have to be to not be able work that one out? no tech terminology and no complexity of any type!
Thanks. I'd never have thought of using the term "lag" about skipping audio.
First, I am new here and I really appreciate the work that has been done to get the this wealth of information online.
I really try to search and search for information before I ask because I know that asking a redundant question can get me soaked in gasoline and set on fire.
There must be some special skill or knowledge of searching that I do not have...and want to have.
Case in point: I want to know how to tell if my GPS in turned on and if so, how to manually turn it off. I tried searching for "turn GPS off"=no results, "Gps off"=no results. Then I searched for simply "GPS"=no results. Now I know that there are hundreds of posts here with the term GPS in them, Why does the search not find them??
A little frustrated here...
Any help on how to effectively use the search on this site would be greatly appreciated....Thank you!
I don't think there's any (easy) way to tell - GPStest or the HTC GPS Tool may help - but.....
Your GPS is only on if you're running a program that actively makes use of it - e.g. Tomtom, iGO, CoPilot etc....they will activate GPS when you start them and disable it when you close them.
EDIT: The search works just fine - in the "topmost brown coloured menu", it says "Search" - I just entered "GPS" in the box and hit search and got pages of hits......sure you didn't click "Search this thread" ???
HTH,
Mark.

Thanks for the Gps info but my REAL question was about how to use the search tool.
I used "Search this FORUM" to search the "Kaiser>Kaiser grneral" forum only. Using the "Search" button above does a Google search in the entire xda-developers forum yielding hundreds of results on ALL devices, not just Kaiser.
Still need to know how to search the Kaiser-general forum only and get results.
I always go to google.com and type something along this lines " xda kaiser gps" ( or whatever youre looking for ) Seems to work most times for me

Right at the top when you click on the Search button under the box where you type your search string it says "or use the built in forum search"click on that and it;ll give you options to search in specific forums of your choice
I went to the Kaiser>kaiser-General forum, selected Search from the top brown strip, clicked "use the built-in forum search", entered GPS, selected search entire post, from the "search in forum(s)" box i select Kaiser>Kaiser general, click search and I get "Sorry no matches". Try it for yourself and tell me what I am doing wrong.

You're not doing anything wrong. I just tried searching 'this forum' for "GPS" and also got no results. Then I tried a few other common 3-letter acronyms, e.g. "HTC", "CAB" and "DOS", all of which clearly appear in the titles of recent posts. In all cases no results were returned.
So it looks like a deficiency in the search functionality of the forum software. I then googled this and found that it's a common complaint.
The recommended solution is to add a wildcard character to the search string - e.g. "GPS*".
The built-in site search is terrible, and the site admins know it. That is why they added the ability to search XDA using the Google search engine.
Searching for "GPS" with the forum search will produce no results because the vBulletin search ignores words shorter than 4 characters. If you want to narrow down your results using Google, use add "Kaiser" to all of your searches.
Thanks, that is the exact information that I need to know.
Hi ho, Hi ho, it's off to search I go............
See the top of the page, its the answer from the developer, well can we do anything to help him?
-------->http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1059296&page=594 ,sorry forgot to post the link.
As u can see if we can help him then we could have fm for cm10.1 hopefully.
Anyone,i know u want fm on cm10.1 too.

Here's a thread for the P990, where somebody figured out which ALSA audio controls need to be set, and I've incorporated those settings: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2177766
And "sudden36's" alsa_amixer script for that phone is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38831550&postcount=8
Beware though that finding a way to enable FM audio, as difficult as it may be, is often just a small part of the work required to make sure everything from ringing to audio notifications to headset jack removals all work OK.
BTW, is there another FM thread for P970 ? I thought I saw some other effort, but it's hard to keep track of the multiple P9xx threads.
So can anyone write here if t worked for u?
