So I was backing up a rom in TWRP recovery when the phone randomly rebooted. I went back to recovery to see if I could do a backup and now I can't mount the /data directory at all. Whatever I try to do when accessing the directory, it says unable to mount. I tried using the file explorer and it shows an empty directory. Other screens show internal storage as 0mb. I've also tried using CWM but same, can't mount data. I already wiped /system so I can't reboot, and I can't install a rom w/o access to /data (same thing when doing adb sideload).
Any ideas how to get this fixed?
Thanks!
EDIT: Somehow right when I posted this question, I got access to /data again... -_-
EDIT2: Same problem again, tried side loading a rom and can't access data anymore

I have a P1000T currently running the Overcome Kratos Edition (3.3.1 IIRC).
It won't do a factory reset. It goes into recovery mode fine, but I get errors like "E:unknown volume for path [/cache/recovery/log]".
It appears the partitions might be screwy or something?
The tablet still boots fine, but it won't reset, so makes it impossible for me to sell it as I can't remove my data etc.
Any ideas what might be wrong? I've tried installing 001003-Overcome_7_Series_v4.0.0_NoWipe.zip from SDcard, but it can't find the SDcard mount.
When I connect it to my PC, I get access to both the internal and external memory fine.
Any ideas?
Sorted. Install ROM Manager and mounted the internal and external SD, and the reset worked fine. Not sure if mounting fixed it, or whether I simply need ROM Manager installed?
Hi folks,
I am having a weird problem on my A855. When I boot into CWM recovery, I cant see the contents of my SD card. I see something totally different, something that looks like files from an old SD card. I've formatted the SD card and copied only the ZIPs that i want to use to update. When I boot to clockwork recovery I dont see them but some phantom files!
Strangely, if use the partitions menu and mount USB while in recovery, I see the correct files. Or, also while in recovery, if I adb shell, mount sdcard, list files, I also see what's actually on there.
I've already wiped boot, system, data, cache, reflashed CWM, but it still sees those old files. I've never seen this before and I've updated 6 or so different phones to Cyanogenmod.
I was able to adb push update.zip to /data/ and recovery --update_package=DATA:ROM.zip to get CM on the phone but it's a less than optimal solution.
On a related note, on my Sensation, when trying to update via ROM Manager I get a "file not found" error upon booting to recovery but at least there I can see the SD files and manually update.
Any info would be appreciated.
I have TWRP 2.5.0. I was trying to install a new rom and now I cant get anywhere.
I copied over my new rom to my storage then reboot to recovery. I wiped everything possible. Now my rom is gone and either I'm not using the mount function in twrp properly, or its not working. Now I have no rom, now way to copy a rom, so no phone. What can I do now?
Never mind, I found a guide to side load.
I've tried flashing my LG 4X HD with Zaiben RC8 using TWRP but it got stuck after the LG spalsh screen. Went back to TWRP and noticed that it was showing 0MB of Internal Storage and can't mount/format the /data partition. Managed to change the recovery to CWM through TWRP's terminal but still cant format/mount it. Does any1 have any idea on how to proceed? It also doesn't appear listed in ADB...
EDIT1: Also can't mount/format /sdcard partition... I was using latest cm10.2 previous to trying to flash zaiben... :/
Update2: Managed to get it connected to ADB, but still don't know what can I do to solve this...
update3: It seems I can't get into fastboot...
Only after a few many hours I noticed that the Mounts and Storage menu in CWM 6.0.4.5 was scrollable, and the last format option in there did actually format the whole /data partition and allowed me to mount it and flash a new ROM afterwards still don't know what caused this, though.
I have my magisk.zip in my sdcard/download but it's not showing on twrp (Internal storage 0 MB)... I tried wiping cache and data but it failed... I made sure that "Install ZIP" is selected. I'm using this twrp (color is orange instead of blue).
I'm using SM-J730F (used to be SM-J730F/DS but because of bootloop I had to install SM-J730F firmware, everything seems to work as it should).
I successfully rooted my other android phone but it's a lot more complicated for this model...
Is there any solution for this problem?
Edit 1: I tried with this solution by "format data" and then copy magisk.zip to sdcard/download, formating worked (Internal storage was't 0MB anymore) but when I connected with PC and opened my mobile folder was completely empty... It was empty before and after formating when accessing mobile folder on PC while on twrp (access was allowed the first time system booted) but in home screen mobile files can be accessed on PC. I'm starting to hate SM-J730F...
Edit 2: This solution worked (I can transfer files directly from my PC while on twrp) but my whole OS got wiped as well and had to flash it with odin... Which returned me to square one (no twrp)...
Well, i had same problem, got around it by flashing twrp in adb
