(help) Updated to htc one version 1.29.651.10 - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Everyone.
I updated my HTC One to the latest version and now I want to unlock the bootloader and install a custom ROM. My question is can I still unlock the bootloader on the latest version or did they break the unlocking process?
I want to put a custom ROM on there but obviously I do not want my phone bricked. I am NOT new to custom roms but this is my first HTC device.
Thanks for your quick replies.

More information is needed. Did you trying installing a custom rom? Chances are if your stuck at that screen then you need to flash the correct kernel

This is for ics ?

Yes I am running ics on the att vivid but all the steps I show in the video can be used for gingerbread such as installing recovery, the kernel and the rom. I just didn't go over how to unlock the bootloader thru HTC dev because it's pretty comprehensive. And updating the hboot is only if your coming from gingerbread and going to ics

[Q] How to update a rooted HTC One?

Hi I'm a complete beginner in the android/ rooting scene and i rooted my phone about a month ago using this guide on youtube.
youtube.com/watch?v=rRkAHw_GmIs
I heard there is an android 4.2.2 update but you cannot update when you have a rooted phone.
How do i get 4.2.2 android on my rooted HTC one? i currently have 4.1.2 and on tmobile U.S.
Thanks and sorry for my english.
Simples!
Flash the right RUU for your phone, you'll be back to stock and ready to upgrade.

If the boot loader is unlocked does it need relocked first or just go ahead and run the RUU?

What does flashing mean? And i dont think i can return it to stock because the tmobile version does not have an RUU.
Sorry i am new to this whole scene.

S-off with different firmware / rom

Ok what's the risk... I'm running Android revolution ver 31. I haven't updated my firmware. I'd prefer not to have to flash a whole different ROM to gain S-off if in can avoid it. I know it's recommended to be on same firmware and ROM base, but what's the risk of just S-offing like I am?

But, wait, you have the s-off or not?
And what do you want do?

No I don't have it yet but I'm running a ROM based on 3.62xxxx firmware but haven't updated my firmware to that yet because I don't have soff.
Wondering if I'm running a risk with ROM and firmware not matching when I attempt to soff.

Yep, you need to be on the same base, and the closest possible to your own rom. Just restore your stock nandroid and you'll be good to go

Sprint HTC One Unlocked + Custom Rom

Hey all, I've had this question for a few days. If I have an Sprint HTC One that I unlock with SIMUnlockHelper (with root and s-off), will I be able to flash a custom rom such as CM10.2 or another ASOP rom and still retain my unlock? If not, will I be able to flash any rom (Sense 5.5/etc) and retain my unlock? Thanks.

You'll not loose your unlock, but AFAIK AOSP and CM ROMs don't work with the unlock, maybe some HTC files are missing. You can change as many sense ROMs as you want

Thanks for your answer. One more question, if I use a sim unlock code on my tmobile HTC ONE then flash CM 10.2, will it stay unlocked? Thanks
It won't work on CM or AOSP. It works only with sense
