Hi
Im using stock JB 4.1.2. Installed with full wipe (system, cache, dalvik etc.)
Recently discovered weird issue:
After plugging in original headphones gps doesnt work anymore.
Is this normal behaviour ?
Anyone ?
Can someone check this for me please?
It will take 5 seconds ...
Im using different rom and kernel now, and still cant use GPS while headphones are plugged.
Maybe try to get GPS fix at first and the plug the headphones. I'm using Endomondo on kholk's CM + iodak's kernel and everything works

I tried both ways. Without headphones gps gets fix fast (few seconds)
Then about 2 - 10 second after i plug in headphones fix is lost.
When i unplug headphones again - 2 second for gps fix.
It seems like hardware failure then ..
Thanks for your test.
I did some tests with GPS Test application:

Well, tested it, I have same issue! Unbelievable. I'm on aokp with ww kernel, same problem you describe

I wonder what LG has to say about this?
Unfortunately my phone is unlocked and can not return it under warranty...
I don't have this issue. Tried with both bundled LG headset and another one. GPS locks under 10 seconds to 13/9 or higher.

Hi All,
I emailed to LG and they said that I should do a factory reset. But I think it doesn't help since the problem occurs on both of stock and CM ROM.

A friend of mine with a new bought p880 on stock ICS doesn't have this problem, too.
it isn't necessarily a hardware failure. usually the earphones work as external FM-radio-antennas. it might just be a bug that the software turns off GPS-antennas instead of integrated FM-radio-antennas when earphones are connected.

so i was listening to music. Using earphones ,after 3-5 mins later the phone got too hot to touch..!!!! I was thinking it was the the heat in india, as my friend's htc also got banged up and had to sent it to repair!!
I use stock 2.3.4 v20 b... do any app with push notification use processing speed and hence raise temp???. I have a attached a image of time frame during i was listening to music
My best guess to much battery is dissipated in form of heat..
Also i use at lowest brightness when not out door.(use manual brightness)

It just coughed out smoke
When charging and gaming with wifi enabled data, and also high screen brighness, mine gets pretty hot too.
I think its just normal, but keep in mind that li-ion batteries will die a lot faster if they are exposed at high temperatures (>30ºC) for a long time and fully charged.

Hey guy's... so, I pick up my Nexus that is running stock Android without pushing any buttons and my device comes on and then I'm thinking its a bug? I remind you I'm on stock no mods/ custom kernel BTW Faux123 FTW! Or anything, just stock 4.1.2 later on today the screen is off and I picked up my device, before I can push a button the screen just comes right on without me pushing anything... then, the geek in me said, this is not a bug, its a new feature in the 4.1.2 OTA so I picked up my 7 without pushing any buttons and bang screen on and then I just laid it down and bang screen off. Okay, I'm thinking that this is a new feature for notifications... what do you think?

This seems very likely. Can you imagine the battery drain this would cause if your phone was in your pocket and turned on every now and then because of being moved?
If it really is a new feature, then I damn as hell hope I can turn it off.
Its not a new feature.... there is a magnet sensor of some sort in the N7 and when removed from said magnet source the screen comes on.

False! I'm not using a case, but I do know that with a magic case screen will come on? My nexus has no case on it just me picking up the device turns on screen! Not magnet, but more so accelerometer:what:

I'm all for new features that sounds great! I don't think battery drain is really a big problem. That little thing you call a charger should sort that out. maybe you could just calibrate your gyro sensor to a crazy angle!

Hmm, most likely happening due to an app like 'Auto Screen On'. Even a faulty device would still need the functionality coded into it the stock ROM, which has never been mentioned afaik.
A second possibility is that the OP is Magneto and is interfacing with the Nexus's magnetic sensor

It is still partially a WIP but most everything works I think the only real thing not working is the sense usb storage app but UMS is there..... I forgot to say I also added beats tweaks, sqlite tweaks and other speed tweaks
Might try this. I got a third incredible from a friend so I got another play device lol
Let me know how this runs

There's no phone launcher it seems ... Have reflashed , cleared cache , any suggestion?
Edit: titanium shows its there, its just not on the home screen or in the drawer . using rocket dial .
Can be pretty laggy when returning to home screen from an app but seems pretty smooth over all .

It ran pretty well, but I didn't try it long enough.

The phone app thing is weird .. It was also noticed on the original port ... I think it may have to do with permissions

I will look .... I bet it has to do with perms not being aloud to the app to use the mic

I found the problem it is looking for a headset to use instead of the built in mic ... Now to see if i can find a fix

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the bcmdhd.ko could be the culprit
ICS roms were still using bcm4329.ko and fm radio and bluetooth seem to need that module

I will check but I think that it shouldn't matter because on the phone that the original port was from it worked and they used bcmdhd.ko when I looked at the logcat beatsaudio was strangely going off right when I tried using the mic so I think it may be the main culprit

any updates...
just doing some research and it looks like audio.primary.qsd8k.so may be the cause of the mic not working for google search and other apps
From http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25527860&postcount=1240
◦ROM: NexusHD2-ICS-CM9-HWA_V2.0.zip (MD5sum: C63D317C72F05FC9AF7DC90931170386) (No more mirror please.)
◦This ROM works for MAGLDR and cLK at the same time.
◦Notice: Please flash audio.primary.qsd8k.so_update.zip after flashing this ROM to fix some audio issues caused by Voice search, Skype, and so on.
I have been working on this allot lately .. I will see what that does .. My internet was down last week
