It needs a sprint 4.2 kernel i believe. Until there is a 4.2 leak for sprint (or maybe 4.2 kernel source) i'm not sure it'll happen. I could be wrong, i hope so, but i read it was because of the kernel.

Hi guys,
I've recently bought myself a 2nd hand HTC One, I had to unlock it from EE(UK) to make it accept the use of my o2(UK) sim.
I then decided that I wanted to try rooting it to have a look at different ROMs, because I had never tried tinkering with my previous android phones. Having experimented with a couple, I have decided I would like to restore my phone to stock because I am missing the use of one app in particular, HTC TV, not to mention I don't like the way to get to comma's on the Google keyboard. However, in my enthusiasm for trying out rooting and custom ROMs I failed to make a backup of my stock ROM, I know, I can look back at that mistake and think "I deserve a slap", however that is why I am here, looking for different options.
My HTC One is currently running on Cyanogen Mod 10.1.2.
I have browsed a number of threads but I couldn't find myself a satisfactory answer to my particular issue.
I ran into my first problem when attempting to find the RUU for my device, I cannot find an RUU for version 2.24.61.2 (Orange), apparently it has not been released yet.
I then read some threads for any ways to revert to an earlier RUU, such as HTC Europe 1.28.401.7, and there were threads detailing how to do it, however they required that you get S-OFF on your HTC one, the most effective way of doing this is using Revone, however my Hboot is running on version 1.54 which seemingly makes it impossible to S-OFF with Revone.
I have tried finding a 3rd party IR Remote app for my HTC One, but most of the ones I have found on the app store are either rubbish in comparison to HTC TV, are designed specifically for Samsung devices, or, in the case of Smart IR Remote, no longer developed. I should also note that I downloaded the 1.3.1 version and pushed it to my HTC using adb push, but the app kept crashing and I un-installed it out of frustration.
If I have missed anything glaringly obvious to a more experienced developer, I apologise, but I have searched for a good day for solutions based on my current knowledge before writing this post.
If anyone could please point me to a good thread that could deal with at least a good number of my issues it would be much appreciated, or if anyone could give me any answers to my problems listed above, I would love you long time.
If you require any more details don't hesitate to let me know.
Cheers. :good:
Mr Splat
why not flash a sense based rom like viperone or arhd
I was thinking of that, but I wasn't entirely sure that flashing to a sense based ROM was what what I needed. I thought Cyanogenmod was a sense-based ROM, however I'm going to now I assume I may have made an epic blunder and not read the description of Cyanogenmod properly.
I'll try a flash and then I'll come back and let you know if I have got HTC TV back onto my One.

Just a quick question, I take it that the arhd 4.3 release is unsuitable as the google edition comes without htc tv?
I must also ask, having stated in my OP, my current software build is 2.24.61.1, the ahrd 4.2.2 page says that it's build is 2.24.401.8, is that not an issue?
Not sure on the ge version of arhd have never ran it but there is a 4.3 sense version of arhd that will work most sense based roms have HTC tv app and your software build won't make a difference

The GPE ROMs or AOSP can not run the HTC Backup program.
You must be on Sense.
But however if you'd like to give it a shot here is my download link:

With the HTC One Mini getting an offical KitKat release, is there any chance we HTC First Owners will see a port for our device?
you need to find someone to do it,
Try asking Facebook or HTC support for an official update instead, it'll make porting a lot easier

I contacted jmz and the dev on the HTC One Mini forum who made the rom into a flashable zip, who said we'd need a kernel that can boot it.

Hey there,
Looks like you're running a 4.4.2 ROM. Have you tried using a 4.4.3 ROM? I have no idea if 13.1 works with sense 6 4.4.2. Also, your kernel version doesn't have "ElementalX-13.10" in it, which is concerning.
I'm running a 4.4.3 ROM with EX 18.0 with no problems.
Enabling wake gestures can be done in the aroma installer, which I'm sure you've encountered.
Please guide

Thanks Sauprankul.
I don't think Sprint has released 4.4.3 for M7 yet. Meanwhile what do you mean by "Also, your kernel version doesn't have "ElementalX-13.10" in it, which is concerning."
Should I go for ElementalX-m7-14.12-Sense as shown in the screenshot? Would my phone with the specifications support it?

Bro looks like you're downloading from the m7ul site.
You need something that specifically says "sprint" or "m7spr" in it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2295596
Download 13.1 from here. I would recommend never downloading anything from anywhere unless an XDA thread in the Sprint forum directly linked you to it, because flashing something for an intl device can brick your phone.
Also you're right about the sprint not releasing 4.4.3 thing, but the international port is available.
Please help

Hi Sauprankul
The link you gave has the same kernel version I downloaded the first time - ElementalX-m7-Sprint-13.10. It doesn't work.
Maybe there is something else I need to do.

See, the problem is, I honestly don't know which ROM goes with which kernel. I would suggest that you upgrade to a 4.4.3 stock ROM and get the latest EX 18 kernel from the xda thread, because I know that combination works. Sorry, mate, but that's the best advice I can offer.
Elemental X 14.12 and Sense 6 Toolbox, if you're running a 4.4.2. rom. The combination of the two will work. (make sure you enable wake gestures in Sense 6 Toolbox) I did it for a while, but gave it up as it ate at my battery life more than I liked.
Does anybody have the sense 4 Rom for the one M7 or know where to get it? None of the original links work anymore.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
Mark
