So I'm brand new to Android and have managed to root my HTC One M7 with the latest ARHD Rom. I installed a custom bootloader as well (because why not) and now I really want the Sleep2Wake feature available in the Elemental or Bulletproof Kernels.
I tried flashing it normally through recovery but on both Kernels, after installing through AROMA, they reboot to the white splash screen and then just black out. I have had to restore from nandroid after both times to just use my phone.
Am I doing something wrong or is there a conflict somewhere?
Sounds like you're trying to use an 4.1 kernel with the latest ARHD which is 4.2. There's no fully working custom kernel out for 4.2 due to no released source code from HTC.

Riiiiiiight. So the Kernels haven't been updated due to ARHD going of that half-release thingo with 4.2. That makes a lot of sense. I thought I was screwing my phone.

Yup. I believe there's a warning on those threads that say they are incompatible with the 2.17 base ROMs

TeaM7 have AOSP and Sense versions cobbled together that mostly work with 4.2.2
Beadtmode is also cobbled together to work with 4.2.2 ROMs.
Main problem is that video playback (at least) doesn't work with the patched kernels. Think IR is also frelled on them.
I'm waiting for the source release from HTC so he can update his kernels (but TD 7.5 is VERY tempting.)

A few weeks ago, i rooted my incredible s, and s-off, and flashed the android revolution hd without sense 3.0 features. The rom was good, but a little slow with the sense 3.0 features. so i flashed [ROM SENSE 3.5] EhabFG Android 2.3.5 Runnymed V1.5, and it started with that rom: sometimes my phone just reboots! it happens around 2 or 3 times a day. the battery is not hot. i tryed virtuous unity, and now nik's trinity ROM, but the problem is still there. with each rom i wiped the device. what is the problem?
kernel: 2.6.35.14
help is really appreciated!

you can flash your stock rom it will be stable
Your phone probably can't handle the undervolting
Install incredicontrol and raise the voltage slightly (~50mv) to see if that helps

Every processor has different limits...
Same with overclocking. Some peoples can't handle much while others can go to 2GHz no problem.

They are all solid, it depends on what features, themes, etc you are looking for.
Rooted within 3 hours. Started on a different Rom but switched to vipers and never looked back. Incredibly close to stock with just some basic visual upgrades and a lot under the hood

I enjoy d3rpONE. Its a sense based rom with good a good looking theme, full functionality and lots of under the hood tweaks and fixes.
D3rped out Beastmode! HTC ONE!
d3rpROM, ViperROM, and TrickDroid are the best ones out there atm. I am currently running TrickDroid because it has tons of mods selectable in AROMA, it is quite nice. (you can find it in the international forum, it will give you the option to flash the Sprint version from the .zip)
Im running Viper's... Super Nice!
from htc ONE
what about cm10.1

They are if you like Sense roms and I believe that is what the OP was asking about.
I don't know why that dude took 3 hours to root his mine took a total of 5 minutes and then another 5 to install Viper ROM and haven't had an issue.

I rooted, flashed Viper Rom and Wolfpack Kernel as soon as I got home from the Sprint Store. All done before I even made a call and I couldn't be happier with how my phone is running as well as the attention given to requests for Mods or assistance by Team Venom as well as Thicklizard...Keep up the great work guys...

how do you modify settings for wolfpack? is there a way to do it through recovery or does it take you through the steps when you install it?

Have you tried RENOVATE? Using RENOVATE ROM, Wolfpack Kernel and OJM MODs.....ultimate device. Viper ROM is very nice....but Quadrants and Antutu scores suffer greatly. Renovate also includes PureXAUDIO , battery optimization, and it flys. It's mostly stock unless you choose their theme
I think he meant he rooted in 3 hours and not it took all of 3 hours.
It took me about 2 hours to root. It would have been faster but I used the HTC One (M7) All-In-One Toolkit V1.2, and while it got me started, it didn't work as advertised, left off steps, and then just stopped working. I had to do most of the work manually myself, but I did it.
theres an easy video to follow on youtube if you search "htc one root" look for the one posted by qbking77. it doesnt use the all in one toolkit so if something goes wrong its easier to figure out what you did wrong...
Hey guys! Daniel here on my unlocked HTC one (dev addition)....
I have been having some issues with my camera, every custom kernel I have tried has made it be black, and unresponsive.
So far I have tried elementalX (The Kernel I hope to have work), and 2 other xda kernels, all with both camera fix on and off...
I have also tried this with the stock ROM, and CleanROM, with no change in effect~
Any ideas for diagnosing this issue?

I'm on 2.17. 401.1 - is this an issue?
I'm running Android revolution HD 10, but have not tried flashing elementalx yet.
There isn't even source code for 1.29 properly yet, never mind the new Android 4.2.2 I'd strongly recommend using the stock kernel until the source code is released for kernel devs
I'm surprised the only issue you're having is with camera tbh

Oh really! *scrambles for the power button*
I have rooted my Incredible S and running it on stock ROM. I rooted it only to achieve 2 way call recording. I searched this forum to do that and as close as I came, I found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1647303
and it sends to this thread to use a Kernel:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1130350
But it leaves many questions unanswered.
1) I have used CWM recovery. According to this thread I should use 4ext. Is it must ?
2) I am S-ON, will I have to S-Off (I am not sure what it is, I guess its downgrading something) ?
3) Any custom ROM that can be used to gain 2 way call recording without S-Off ?
you can try this app-
play.google.com /store/apps/details?id=com.skvalex.callrecorder&hl=en
worked good for me on SVHD, cyanogenmod 10.1 and cyanogenmod 10
I have S-ON

yes, poondog is correct, kernel support is needed, i assumed that stock kernel will support it hence said you can try it.
I always used that app with poondog's kangaroo kernel for sense ROMs or Tesco by szezso for CM ROMs (as I understand poondog also added few things in Tesco)

I have a rooted and flashed HTC One (GSM). I am using OneDroid based on CM11 and sti kernel v2.0. I am however facing this really irritating issue whereby my phone reboots CONSISTENTLY when it is in stand by mode. It happens almost every 4-5 minutes. I doesn't happen when I am charging or using the phone. Any solution guys?

try to isolate the issue:
Flash a stock kernel or another aosp kernel (i.e TeamSeven kernel) to see if its kernel related
flash another rom to see if its rom related
go back to 100% stock, if the issue persist then its an hardware defect.

Thanks for the response. Any GSM compatible ROMS and Kernels compatible with one droid to recommend? I have flashed numerous ROMs and so far, only CM OneDroid turned out to be the least ****ty.

I do not know much about aosp kernel because i'm using Sense. Maybe try TeamSeven kernel. As long the kernel you flash is made for your respective device and compatible with your rom.

It looks like I have fixed the problem. Re-flashed the same ROM and installed only the apps I needed. Must be some faulty app that caused the problem.
