Trying everyday but no updates available. Was wondering if anyone has received the 4.22 update
OTA with a Developer Edition?
CC
No update 4.2.2 available for Dev Edition now. It will be released in one week more.

There's no official 4.2.2 update full stop at the moment, it's leaks only

Thanks, I am reading on other forums that some people have received the OTA of 4.22.
Just as I thought it was not true.......... This will in fact be an OTA right?
Will the Developer phones receive the update first?
Thanks again

Unlikely as it's not an unbranded phone in the true sense of the word as it's doesn't have an HTC CID, it has Brightstar (or something like that)

BS_US001.
No OTA yet.

I really expected the Dev Edition to have received the 4.2.2 update by now. Not sure what's taking so long being that the device was launched 2 months ago.
hmm

I was under the assumption that the Developer Edition Phones would be the first to get
any OTA update. Case in point the last HTC update was received OTA by the Developer
Edition first. Some phones still do not have that update yet.
Am I wrong?

That update was the same to go the the EU unbranded handsets but as it was newer it got a higher build version. Just because one region gets x.xx.xxx.16 doesn't mean all of them will as not all of them will need it

None of the HTC One's have 4.2.2 yet. There are custom ROMs on the leaked version but nothing official so until the unbranded handsets get 4.2.2 no one will

I am thinking of rooting the One, however having received the OTA update for the camera I would like to know if rooted would theses updates (and 4.2.2 when available) be able to be received and installed ?
Thanks

If you're rooted you can't receive OTA.
For receive OTA you need a locked/relocked bootloader...
Say your rooted but on the stock Rom,Can't you use "OTA Rootkeeper" ?
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
If you have the bootloader open (unlocked), you can't receive ota update.
With Evo 3D and One X is so.
I think is the same for the one...

I don't know.
But i repeat, i had Evo 3D and with an unlocked bootloader no OTA.
Same for the One X that i have now, because my one will arrive in some hours.

That would suck if the dev edition couldn't get OTA updated. But I highly doubt that is the case. We'll see soon enough (hopefully).

Theoretically, dev don't need OTA support.
Dev have ruu and source code for kernel...

Ok first off I'm not all that familiar with htc's ways. I know that with previous bootloader unlocks we were able to flash custom roms and what not. Now with S-off we are able to change anything on the phone software wise. So that being said is carrier branding not so much an impact now?
For instance,
My phone is an att htc one which can receive AT&T ota updates. I know with the bootloader unlock I was able to flash international roms and have all the updated goodies of the international phone owners. But that being said I was still not able to receive international OTA updates since I was still branded AT&T.
Is the Cid what determines this?
If so, with s-off can we just change it to the international, developer edition, or any other carrier ID that we choose. Then flash an RUU from that carrier and then practically be the same as having the international or developer edition phone? Would we then be able to receive OTAs just like the dev or international editions get?
Yes, you can run any RUU on your phone. That does not guarantee everything will work, however.
Flashing firmware from another carrier won't get you OTAs from them. Getting OTAs is a combination of your CID and your carrier. I can tell you from my experience with the One X, lots of folks who got AT&T phones and took them overseas after sim unlocking never got any AT&T OTAs. So I doubt it would work on this phone either.
I don't know what will happen with the Google edition, when it comes out. I don't think anyone knows until it's released. It's possible you will get OTAs from Google if you can get that on your phone.

Thanks for your response.
Ok say for instance I buy an HTC One Dev edition strait from htc. I then put that phone on at&ts service. I would stiill get ota's strait from htc right?
So for my at&t branded htc one with s-off. Assuming that I have the cid from the dev edition and a stock dev edition ruu, what else would be there to stop me from getting ota's strait from htc like the dev edition does?
First off, to use dev ruu you need supercid.

So you couldnt install a dev ruu with the dev cid? What else would keep it from installing?
Ok let me put it like this. As far as I know there is no hardware differences between the htc one dev edition and the htc one at&t edition. That being said since we have s-off and are now able to change anything and everything on the phone software wise, can we not convert our at&t devices over to htc one dev editions and get OTAs directly from HTC and what not?
what is supercid? cid - 11111111?

As long as you have the dev edition cid and the dev edition ruu, theoretically you should get the OTA updates. Same with the Google Edition because these two are not carrier branded and the updates come directly from HTC and Google.

I thought Google will be the one releasing all the updates for the Nexus edition (Google experience) phones?
Consider Developer Edition still stuck on 4.12, I would hope Nexus edition updates are handled by Google not HTC

I couldn't find it anywhere on the web with a guide that actually works.
I searched "Update HTC One to 4.2.2" and "How to update HTC One to 4.2.2" and couldn't find a guide that worked...
I'm using the unlocked model that I ordered right from HTC and I did the "Check Updates" thing and it couldn't find any more updates. So I'm stuck on 4.2.2.
I'm not looking to unlock the bootloader or rooting right now, just in case i have to get it replaced.
Can anyone provide helpful insight into my problem?

*bump*!!! Plz help!!!
You either have to unlock the bootloader and flash a 4.2.2 rom, or wait it out until HTC decides to push the update to that model.

USA carriers are the worst for OTA updates, which is why I unlocked my bootloader right away. Then when the international 4.2.2 rom came out, I waited for a bit to see if there was any problems on the AT&T model. There wasn't and I flashed it with no problems. Full LTE and no bloat.

It's possible that the OTA update has not yet been pushed for your device.... it depends on the CID not just the fact that it is a sim free device.
As far as I'm aware no American Ones have yet received the 4.2.2 update

I did read the OP. The unlock model is still tied down to US carriers; it's not like its international variant.

The updates aren't controlled by AT&T though. AT&T has no control over my device. If I had it on AT&T then I would be waiting for AT&T, but since its a HTC direct, im waiting on HTC to push it to my phone. AT&T has nothing to do with this.

there is NO RUU for 4.2.2, you either have to install 4.2 and wait for update
or flash a 4.2.2 based ROM, like ARHD 12.2
Hi,
Just wanted to ask any users with an HTC One from HK if the 4.3 update has already been released. I bought my phone from there but I use it mainly in the Philippines. Checked today and there's still no update.
Also, if I restore my phone to the stock ROM from a nandroid backup then flash stock recovery, will I still be eligible for the OTA? I'd restore using an RUU but I can't seem to find one for Hong Kong phones. Thanks.
For OTA you need the stock rom and recovery.
Also the bootloader will be locked-relocked
Pretty sure it would be posted on this forum if the update had come out. We usually get it after Europe, so I doubt it. I'm on a custom ROM, so can't help.
Yeah, restoring from nandroid + stock recovery should let you get updates (when they arrive).
Alright thanks man. Are there any additional benefits to upgrading the whole firmware vs just the radio? I'm stuck with S-on.

I live in Hong Kong and my HTC ONE is HK version.
I can confirm you that 4.3 for HK HTC ONE itsn't there yet and no ETA were announced.
However, base on my previous HTC(HK) experiences and speculation.
If US/Taiwan and the rest of the world released the update on Oct, 2013.
HTC(HK) will release the update somewhere between March, 2014 and Oct, 2020.
Yes this is how good and efficient of HTC(HK), Yay baby!
Thanks for the heads - up. Guess I'll make sure my next phone is S-off before anything else

Seriously, using HK HTC handsets is almost like using a carrier branded handset. Usually close to being the last of the unbranded cid's to receive updates.

http://www.htc.com/ca/go/htc-software-updates/#device-content.
They are currently working on 5.0 not 4.4.4.
They also made a post somewhere about it. Skpipping 4.4.4 to bring 5.0 faster.
any HK owner with cid 622 got the 4.4 update?
What's wrong with Sprint, why didn't they release the new update? The unlocked device was updated almost a month ago, which means the software was sent to Sprint! How can we figure out when will Stupid Sprint release that?
The carrier devices are always 2-3 months (if I remember correctly) after the unlocked devices.
That much?
As per the tweet by Mo Versi (VP of HTC) we should be receiving on Jan 4th. Most of the time, things got delivered on the date he announced. Hoping for Jan 4.
That's a negative

There's no where to find this out, which is annoying. Thanks for the updates.
It's solely on the carrier right now though, so who knows absolutely for certain.

Just saw it, and was about to post,
Unfortunately the RUU downloaded from HTC website won't work with my factory locked original phone, what the f.
After reading the webpage carefully, using the RUU from there to program will erase all the data on the phone, so I don't know if that's what I want. I'm just becoming too lazy to deal with all of these
