[Q] Camera Dark Spots - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All...wondering if any of you have the same issue with your camera? I took a few pictures and highlighted the area in red as an example...doesn't matter where I take a picture but this dark spot exists on the camera (or lens?). Is this the same for anyone else?

anyone?

Well...just as an update...contacted service provider and they are sending a replacement phone...let's see how it goes tomorrow.

Yeah those pictures are definitely just busted hardware or dust on the lens or whatever.

Red spot on pictures

Hi
Recently in seeing red spot on pics I'm taking using default camera like ones I've uploaded. Is it any hardware issue or is it just because of the light from the object. Any idea?

Since it's not in the same spot, i guess it's the light. If it was a hardware issue, it would occur most likely in the same spot on every picture. Try taking photos in different lighting, with flash etc. and check if it's still there.

[Q] Camera problem? Or factory ?:D

Dear all,
I am a proud owner of this phone for a few days now, but I noticed that the camera stretches the picture on the top. Let me try to explain, so when I take a picture of a person then the forehead is abnormally stretched... of course not only with the head, but everything...
Is it normal? or Faulty camera?
you can see it on the attachments..

You should try with a full wipe and see if that persist... I Don't think that it is an hardware related problem

full wipe = factory reset?
The front camera does the same tho.... it seems like a filter, for distorting..

It is a tradeoff that happens with the choice to go with a widescreen lense (maybe their is a more accurate way of saying that?). If you compare the One with any other phone (that I know of) you will see that it gets much more into the picture when held horizontally. The tradeoff to this is that pictures look stretched when taken in portrait mode. So what you are seeing is normal.
I agree that I don't like the stretching, but man is it nice being able to get so much I to a picture when you hold the phone horizontally.

Not anymore, I took back the phone and got an s4 at least I can find out now which one is better
Thanks for the help
Check out this picture as an example. I was the only one in the room that was able to get this picture. Maybe if the wall went back a couple feet, someone else could get the same picture without cutting people right next to them out.
So, sucks a bit to stretch pictures out in portrait, but this is pretty damn cool.

I have to say that I checked my camera and I don't see anything like in zimilaci's video. So for me it actually doesn't look normal.
I don't know why my wide angle photos show a fish-eye type distortion where only the part where the photo is focussed is clear and everything else seeps into a slight blur.
Feature not a bug. It *is* a wide angle lens. Wide angle lenses start to exhibit fish eye distortion the wider they go. Anything in the corners of the frame is not going to be orthogonal. End of story.
If you think it's bad on the back camera, try the front facing camera lol http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2260286

Well I dont care anymore I got it back again, I hope its only a matter of software issue....

I am not quite sure anymore... a friend mine told me that she did not encounter any distortion.... I will check today other devices as well...
its not that annoying...or mabye ? its only the front camera, and a bit with the rear....
HTc online support told me it a faulty device, but both cameras?
Come on...
Go over to Android Central. They mentioned this effect in their review of the camera.

Then my question is, how come that the official HTC support said its not normal?
or its only one of the technicians?

[Q] Camera problems

So I've received my HTC One and I am extremely pleased with it, there's just two questions that need clearing up for me.
The camera lens cover is a bit tilted. I have no idea if the actual sensor is also tilted or if it isolated to the glass. It seems off to me but does not seem to impact image quality, but should I get it replaced?
The camera also seems to make some sort of a click noise when I start it. Is this normal or is my One further defect?
Thanks!
U not the only one man..till now I still don't now is it a factory difect or what.

That's not right. Get it replaced.
I always have this purplish hue surrounding the edges when in the camera app. It's specially noticeable when I'm taking pictures in low light.
Plus when I cover the lens with my hand, rather than going black. It becomes red :/

I have the exact same issue in low light. Would be great to hear if that's normal for most or not.

It's an already known issue, has to do with the sensor being extremely sensitive. No need to worry
My brother has the One as well and it doesbt happen to his one. Plus when I do side by side shots of the same thing, his Camera takes better crisper pictures :what:

Yellow bar in camera pictures?

So my camera has had some weird issues with the pictures it's taking. One is that when I take pictures, some of the pictures will have a lot of yellow tinting towards the left side of the screen, and some will even have entire yellow bars across the bottom left of the screen. Also, when I'm in the camera app and I pan over something that is black, red pixels start to flash all over the area. Does this happen to anyone else? Anyways, here are some pictures of the yellow tinting and bars in the pictures I'm taking. What can I do to fix this? Should I go use my warranty and tell them that I have a faulty camera? Thanks for your input.

I think you maybe right. It also looks like a pressure "mark" to me too from looking at the picture.
