Used Cerberus to get my phone back. When I got it back I did a factory reset, as all of my old data had been deleted anyway, and after the factory reset it looked for an automatic update, but returned an error saying that my phone had been modified. I haven't rooted or flashed in a while because I didn't want to deal with needing to undo it in order to use my warranty, but I've done it a few times, first with cyanogen on my G1, and then with Fresh on my EVO. However, now that my device has obviously been modified anyway, I figure its time to root and flash again. Do I need to be worried about whatever modification they made when I go to root and flash myself? Is there anyway to easily see what modification they made? I'm pretty sure no serious h4x0rz made any super secret changes, but is there anything I should check for to make sure I don't brick my phone while I root and flash? Any other info I need to provide besides what's above?

you can flash philz kernel first from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191
do all the wipes (if you do not want to save any data) and install stock rom with how to from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
if you want to install custom rom then check them here:

Thread closed as its essentially a Best ROM thread.

i need stock rom n7000ubkk1

I need help. I need to restore my cell to stock rom for warranty purposes. My phone was originally flashed:
Baseband version: N7000UBKK1
- Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-N7000UBKK2-CL705203
I need to revert my phone to the original rom. I was able to download (rapidshare) n7000ubkk1 but it only came as tar format and when I flashed it with odin, my phone was stuck on a boot loop: samsung logo and blue space startup.
Before doing that, I did flash a stock rom through odin: N7000ZSKK1 (hong kong) which came in 3 files, modem, csc and code. I think this has changed the radio on my cell. My cell is bought from claro phone company in Dominican republic but the original rom came with brazillian version n7000ubkk1.
please send me a link to download the Baseband version: N7000UBKK1
- Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-N7000UBKK2-CL705203 so I can restore my cell through odin. thanks.

If you need the warranty so as to send it in to Samsung for your boot loop, you can just download the latest firmware and then re-flash it with odin. Most of the time this works. No harm giving it a try first. Anyway, you can find the collection of firmwares at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997 if you really need to get it back to stock. Actually all stock firmwares should not void your warranty if i'm not mistaken.
I have the same phone with the
Baseband version: N7000UBKK1
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-N7000UBKK2-CL705203

mae yo tengo uno con esa version y nunca me ha llegado ninguna actualizacion.. a ud le ha llegado alguna?
I have a N7000 with UBBK1
Looked up my phone's Baseband and found this forum.
If someone still needs this stock ROM, I'm happy to help.
Unfortunately, I'm as noob as they come, so I would need step by step instructions to extract the image and then I would gladly post it online.
Try this link here for stock UBKK ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1356197
Worked for me every single time when I was on Gingerbread trying out several Galaxy Notes (had to keep returning them because the dreaded screen tint changing problem).

You are a gentleman and a scholar, my hat is off to you.
Also, impatient as I am, I'm now flashing using the step-by-step instructions in your other post.

What exactly are you trying to do? Update through Skies?
You could get on stock KK4 (Gingerbread) with this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18370912&postcount=3
But before you do so, you have some reading to do!
Oh and once unlock, always unlock. You don't have to worry about your sim being locked (and in the worse case, remove it before doing the reset).

[Q] [Help] Will Rooting Device ReLock it again?

My device was sent to Carphone Warehouse (Verified Repair Shop UK) for a screen reapir. I burnt out the digitizer when I flashed something ment for the Galaxy Note 2. Used triangle away and reverted back to stock before sending. Came back flashed with stock Vodafone ROM, orginally on stock Three Rom. It's a contract phone which I got directly from Three. Sent to Samsung, returns still running stock Vodafone ROM but now unlocked for Three Sim. If I root the phone and install CWM with it revert back to a Vodafone lock? What did they actually do to the phone at Samsung, I'm guessing they flashed a new kernel. (I'm an amatuer when it comes to this)

rooting or installing CWM or installing any firmware you want it won't lock it...you can do it no problem...
the difference between those to is the date they have been released...it's a code that say region,country,date...coded in samsung way.

Don't worry. I unlocked bootloader with this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/general/wip-unlock-bootloader-moto-g-2nd-gen-t2875728I I have wind mobile and I didn't see any problems with signal.
Coming from Samsung to Moto I find the moto more tweak friendly. Like Arbiterandrea said, if you're only rooting it it should be a slam dunk.
