I went to stock Eclair(from GDx) and I wanted to restore my Contacts and SMS from Nandroid Backup. I tried to do it with AppExtractor but it had NO effect. So I loaded the "mmssms.db" and "telephony.db" from the Backup and put it in the correct directory with correct permissions. After rebooting I had CONSTANT Phone, Messages, Acore(Home) FC and I couldn't do Anything!
Suggestions?

is there a way to restore my latest nandroid backup in my current rom?
you need to be using Titanium Backup for your app backups. Nandroid is an image of your configuration, much like a system restore in windows (to make a loose comparison)

that mean your backup using recovery rite???
so what should you do is...
1-boot into recovery
2-select restore (your backup folder)
3-after backup complete, restart phone
(now you on your old rom)(2.1 is it?) here you can find all your contact listed
4-you have to use any backup program (download from market) (sample etc. on post no2 or post no3)
5-install the backup program
6-now create backup (sms and contact rite??)
7-Now you have to install whatever cuctom rom again
8-after finnish download the same backup program (on step4)
9-install the backup program then restore the backup
Done??

yet it is just a safety backup so u can't use it in another custom rom (wich is probably the reason to do the backup)
there are a few options to extract items out of a nandroid backup tough, but i consider it a hassle

U can use Nandroid backup. For this you have to be root and CWM installed. There is plenty of intructions on how you can do that in the forum.

HTC backup can backup and restore your settings, Wi-Fi passwords, etc. but I've never used it so I don't know how comprehensive it is.

If you have root access you can use Titanium Backup. Then you can just copy the TitaniumBackup folder to your pc while you do the factory reset. Then reinstall TB and place the folder on you storage and run restore.
Then you will have all your setting back on your device.
Hi all. I just flushed the new Revolution HD rom to get 4.3 but having problems to restore my backups from Titanium. I read a lot about Titanium so decided to backup my stuff with it to restore later but now when I try to restore my contacts I get the "com.android.phone has stopped". I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Do i need to restore data only or app + data? I seem to have trouble with SMS restore as well. Any other way I can use the Titanium files to restore my contacts? Thanks for the help.
Have you backupped also the system apps with titanium and no you want to restore all?
If yes is this the problem.
You have to backup only the data or the apps that aren't in system folder

Well my initial backup I just did a batch backup of everything on the phone so yea I have system and data. Now what I'm trying to do is get my contacts from the backup. I just tried to import the data (green) of my contacts in Titanium but it didn't work. Then I re-flushed and tried to restore SMS (green) from Titanium that didn't work either (sms icon disappeared from the phone).
Now I keep reading that it's not good to use Titanium to restore system apps (sms, contacts) but is there another way to use the data saved with Titanium to restore? I just want my contacts and sms to be back. Thanks.

Your previous rom before the ARHD 4.3 was?
However, i don't know how to restore only the contacts and the sms.
Because, for backupping this, i'm using the contatcs app and the same for the sms.
So, i'm sure i have a backup of this!
For contacs, see if you've this in your google account

Ah man that sucks for me cuz I don't sync contacts with google either. I was really hoping TB will do it all for me. My previous rom was ARHD but older version with 4.2.2.
Titanium sucks, as does their support. Had same issues as you and they would not assist me at all. Good thing I had another backup using Helium.
