When my phone isnt rooted it charges perfectly fine so I dont think its the charger problem

Your device is a chinese ripeoff of the S3, you gotta expect bad stuff to happens.. Sorry to say.
Now, I'd go in battery stats (in settings) and see what's draining your battery. Chances are that it has nothing to do with rooting. My guess is that you have a app or system app draining all your juice.

I don't think you understood what I said, rooting your device should have no effect on how fast your battery charges.
If you wanna test it, unroot your device and try charging it.

i charge phone over night with internet disabbled so thats not the problem
Well if you sleep for 4 hours then your battery should be fine. If you sleep 8 hours your battery must really hurt so bad.
Austin 3:16 says "I just whooped your ass".
Try a full wipe. Wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvic cache, wipe battery stats, format /cache/system/data. Flash a stock based rom, power off, charge phone for 3 hours or a bit more & turn it on. There you go...

not the battery i tried today with a friends still same problem
After flashing stock rom I have similar problem, done rooting, and batt calibration, several full charge and discarge since, and still the same problem.
In few minutes from 100% to 80, in 2-3 hours to 10%, and then 4-5 hours till zero... Also, voltage shows when charged 0,004 V.
flashed GINGERBREAD.XXKPP
Help please.

I don't think that's accurate because the ACE has an internal system to cut the pump once it detects a fully charged batt. After that the current is kept at a bare minimum just to prevent discharge. Very much like modern laptops (and almost everything nowadays)...
still havnt found a fix very interesting that every time i go to task manager i have about 18 aplication open when i havnt opened any also download better battery stats and it came back ar6k_wow as a kernal wakelock and gtalk_async_conn as a partial wakelock not sure if these are contributing to the battery loss
Ok, I must report that it worked:
Rooted phone, battery calibrated, four or five full recharges, about three hours charging, and full discharges, discharging until phone shuts down.
Now battery perform well, voltage is still shown 0,004V, but it doesn't affect battery life.
i have had several chages and discharges and battery callbrations many times didnt work. then i thought maybe my old gio ran the same battery and it did. pluged it in charging is at a normal pace but yet to see it discharge keep use posted tommorow how it goes

[Q] Battery almost empty after rebooting?

So, I bought a Galaxy S too. Nice phone. Awesome display. Delightful user experience. Now, few days later, after rebooting my phone, battery level drops from like 90% to just 10%, and restores to the original level after some time. What should I do?

Not enough information. Are you rooted? Are you on a custom ROM or kernel? Have you tried running the battery completely dead until the phone shuts off, then charge it all the way to 100%?
Tappin the talk
If ur on a coustom rom..this issue will be there in beta versions of the rom!
Also which rom u using?

Sorry. Yes, it's rooted. Stock XXJVU, Semaphore kernel 2.5.0b (been using CF-Root and stock kernels before that, but there were no differences in battery level readings after reboot). Nope. How many 0-100% cycles would be necessary for it to do the trick (or fail)?

what i presume is that your battery hasnt been recalibearated.. it might be a kernel issue too..
Okay. What would be the best way to do the recalibration if it really is the culprit?

P.S. My battery is kinda... bulged. Could that be the cause?

Might be a faulty battery. Check if it's swollen or anything, and try replacing it if you can get a spare.
Yeah, you need a new battery. Get the 1800mah Anker.

Dev, I am facing problem after buying a used Galaxy i9000 .
1.I charged my battery fully [100%] , then using after 5/6hr when battery goes down to 34%-35% , the Cell phone suddenly got shut down , When I plug it in , then it says battery was empty . Then I have to charge it again .
2.When battery is 66%-67% , I tun off my phone and started after 5min , I saw it's only 17% !!!
What is the remedy/ solution for this problem .
[Don't say to change ROM/kernel/ clean delvik cache , I have already done them]
Do this problem will be solved by Changing battery ?

Yes, as Knuckle said you will need a new battery perhaps the 1800 MAh.
Hope i helped

I thought that someone bought such stuff on eBay and could suggest me some reliable seller(s) so that I don't buy some fake garbage labeled as Anker that will blow up in my pocket. Nevermind.
Okay, in order to not experience bad battery life again, what exactly should I do once my battery arrives? Wipe battery stats, few 0-100% cycles, later just make sure battery never goes below, say, 25%, and I should be fine? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Yeah, pretty much what you just said. Wiping the battery stats is a bit pointless but do it if it makes you feel good
Polarcell or Anker are the ones to get. There aren't any fakes of those that I've heard of. All the fakes I've seen claim silly capacities.

I mean, consider lowering your CPU clock as it seemingly stopped sudden blackouts on my Galaxy.
EDIT: Nope, it didn't.

[Q] battery gets lower while charging

The battery percentage of my S3 Mini is going down while i'm charging it. and this problem only started a week ago. uhm, any solutions for this prob?
anyways my phone is not rooted and it's in ver 4.1.2 yep thanks
Have a look on the battery usage screen, does it indicate that its charging at the top by the percentage? If so, does it say usb or ac? Also, are you doing anything with the phone when you state it's discharging?

Try different charger. Did you check your usb port? Maybe there is some kind of a deffect (broken pin...). Did you try to charge your phone while it is off? Try to shut down phone, remove battery for 5 minutes and then put it back.

Fully charging takes more then 2 days??

Hello,
Since yesterday my phone needs more then 2 days to completely charge? Can this be ROM related or is my device damaged?

Check your charger first. A corrupted/duplicate charger would take long enough time to charge the battery to 100%
If it's ok, Try to charge your battery in a similar device. If it charge properly, then the problem might be in hardware.
If it not charging properly in other device, it's time to change your battery..:fingers-crossed:

I tried charging the old battery and that goes really fast. At least for me it's normal. It went from about 55% to 88% in 1,5-2 hours so happily it's not device related. Seems that the new battery isn't working properly. Or should i setup something to make my device recognize the new battery?

There's nothing to setup for a new battery. Only just in first use you have to charge it continuously for about 2-3 hours to calibrate it with the device.
Try one thing, fully discharge the battery to 0% and charge it up to 100% continuously.(whatever time it takes) :fingers-crossed:
If it not helps, change the battery.

There's a doubt. If it's because of a faulty battery, the drain will also be worst na.? But he didn't mentioned it.

I ordered mine too! How did you install it? Drain first the original battery? And the install? Or does Android reset the statts for the battery by itself?

guessing you got a bad battery, unless you damaged to battery screw posts on phone, but seems unlikely.

I bought used Droid 4 last month. Battery seems to be in good state (2-2,5 days of light use), but every time it gets to ~40% it immediately drops to 20% (within few seconds). Is there a way to delete battery stats so it can detect percentage correctly? I tried to discharge it completely and recharge again but it didn't help.
Phone is running CM11. Any help appreciated.

if battery's charge is very low, it could take a while to show any change. Normally batteries has some charge, but who know when the battery was made and packaged, could have been a couple of years ago. I would leave connected to wall charger over night.

droid 4 doesnt require a new rear cover but it will wear out quickly if you remove it frequently. you can even keep the phone without a rear cover if youd like because the stock battery has a glue that holds it together with the phone along with the screws for the flex cable
