Have you ever used the kernel-level power-saving app "One Power Guard" (Root needed) on your Xperia device ?
Is this effcient ?
I've just intalled it on my Xperia T / JB .141. I'll inform you of my conclusions.
Thanks in advance.
"One power Guarg" seems useless...
I did not notice any significant improvement of power saving using this app.
It acts on the CPU frequency management, but I think android JB does the job very well on its own.
Most power-saving apps don't save power. If you want longer battery life, look into apps like Greenify and Autostarts, those actually work

Hello everyone.
Battery usage menu on my LG 4x shows that majority of battery is used by "android system" its like 70%, while screen shows 2% usage. On my other android devices that i owned it was like 10% max(android system process). Do u think its normal?
PS. My battery goes down rly fast on lg 4x hd.
Try disabling DRM services, i got that usage when the processor is at full power anyway
Drm service disabled, lets see In few hours. Moreover i have all the time about 600 mb ram in use, any1 can tell me what for?
I have wifi gps synchro bluetooth-all disabled.

I disabled It, still same battery usage. That 600-700 ram usage thingy is anoying, can any1 tell me what Is using 70% of ram?
Try disabling all the apps that are carrier made, or use a deodexed rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1871858
check this tread, it also have a remove stock apps scipt to workaround that issue.
Also, download betterbatterystats to check the waterlocks and see what is consuming the battery
So it has just occured to me that my O4X has no "Battery" option in the settings menu. How do I see my battery usage then?
Will gladly appreciate the help

It's hidden inside "Power management" (or similar, don't know how it's called).

Thx guys. Found it. Didn't realize it would be there as the options for power saving are not as appealing as Samsung Galaxy S3 and Note 2 (no lowering cpu speed).
Do you happen to know any effective way to save O4X battery without compromising much of the performance? LG Gearbox and CPU Master by antutu don't seem to have any positive effects. ROM Toolbox Pro seems like another joke in this situation too.

That seems to be a good solution.. but with only 530 mAh extra battery, I dont think it'll make much difference. I just don't understand why o4x battery drains so fast..
Also, I noticed some people saying they have better battery life after updating firmware to v10H. Mine is v10e, and I believe v10h is newer and may give better battery life, but does it actually affect?

It actually does quite well I have that battery and it gives me around 18 hours where I got with the normal one around 11 12 hours if even. So there is a difference or buy one with a bigger back what I also have. I am on v10f.

That's pretty hard too say....I guess a rom that has no android os/system drain bugs.
It depends very much on the installed apps, if they spawn any background processes which constantly poll some things....
The govenor settings....if it scales to a higher cpu state very fast etc...
Personally i use SlimBean, but you can do some optimizations on any rom.
If you want good battery life I suggest to use greenify to hibernate apps with the unwanted background processes. Enable deepsleep and power done bluetooth in semaphore manager. Undervolt the 100mhz step. Force 2g networks. Use a black theme because the amoled display need less energy for dark themes. Use low autobrightness settings and enable data connection only on demand.
You can disable autopolling of emails etc...remove widgets from the homescreen...
You will probably get about two days with medium usage then.
Hello, I have some overheat issues and low battery performance and I am thinking to remove some system apps amd I want to know which apps i can remove without compromising the phone's performance, to keep it as clean as possible.

Overheating might be due to overclocking your device or you might use your device your while charging. If not the above case there is a app which keeps your awake device awake and keeps using your cpu time! So, install a app called betterbattery stats which gives complete info about your phone's state, apps which your CPU ( which will heat your phone) Better Battery Stats this apps needs root permissions to work at it's full potential. You could remove those apps (stock apps) using titanium backup or remove user app manually!

Thx for the answer.
I dont have it overclocked, its all stock v20A and rooted and I still get the overheat unplugged even with normal use. Its not a big issue but it makes me ask why it get warm with basic usage like Facebook, Whatsapp, and web browsing.
I only ask for suggestions of which apps do you recommend to remove.
I might underclock the cpu too.

The phone does heat up. I dont know the reason why it heats up so much in stock V20A. It did not feel that warm in ICS.
I dont know about any stock apps that do cause overheating but LG MLT, Google Transport Service and a few other services are huge battery hogs. You would get extra battery life by deleting them or "Freezing" them. Before I switched to CM to try it out, I felt that the battery life improved and was on par the stock CM.I have now.
Guys, do you keep your power saver ON the whole time? Cause I'm doing that. It seems to improve my battery life. My phones battery last more than a day, and while it's ON, I don't see any slow downs or lag which is good. I think it's better to leave it On the whole time. What do you think? Thanks!
I'm keeping Power Save ON always either. The options I've ticked there are the ones for CPU underclock and Data Management. For a week or so I've tried Power Saver combined with Snapdragon BatteryGuru but it didn't improved the battery life which I already was able to achieve so I've uninstalled it. Now I have installed Wi-Fi Matic and Smart Profiles (Free) with Power Save ON and I get the best battery autonomy.
Nope as long sleep mode im good

So it's better to leave it ON right? Will the notifications be delayed or the screen will slow down? What do you guys think I should do, leave it ON, or just when the battery is getting low then i'll ON it?

Leave it on. The slow down is barely noticeable, and it'll get you some extra time before the phone needs to be charged.
Personally, I only tick the cpu box.

There's no downside to leaving it on. 1.1GHz is plenty for most everything to run perfectly smoothly and it doesn't affect the GPU so gaming remains excellent. Personally I don't find it hugely useful (maybe an extra hour with my use) but it sure doesn't hurt anything

what do you mean not useful? It is actually. hehe. I mean it gives me more battery life. Do you keep yours ON all the time too?
I've found another great app for battery saving, which switch on/off data connections smarter than Power Saver. I'm talking about GreenPower Free Battery Saver / GreenPower Premium. I hope this helps you. It helped me.

Like I said, with my usage I only get about another hour, and yes that's with it on the whole time. I don't doubt that the way others use their phone could make it have a larger effect (I'm jealous of these people ) , but for me 1hr doesn't cross into the "useful" category.

Forcing the CPU to under clock won't affect your performance but potentially greatly improve battery life, so why not.
