NoLED on HTC One? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I know this app is intended for AMOLED screens but is there any harm using it on LCD like the HTC One? Thanks

There probably won't be any harm but it will drain the battery. Unlike led screens where individual pixels light up, lcd screens have a backlight that lights up whenever something is displayed. Therefore battery drain will be the same as leaving the screen on.

[Q] HTC Vivid Screen Black

Hello, today I slipped and fell and my HTC Vivid seemed to have taken the fall pretty hard because whenever I turn it on its screen is completely black, but it theres streaks of white on the bottom. It almost looks as if a nail of white is on the bottom when I turn on the phone. Any ideas to get my screen working again?

Thanks for telling me. How much do you think it'd cost to repair?

Lcd/digitizer combo is easiest fix & goes for anywhere between $50-65 on ebay and the time it takes to fix.
Or you can be adventurous and just buy the lcd only. Costs $30-35 and a lil more time.

Its more like $40 for LCD digitizer combo.. At least it was when I replaced mine lol

You lcd is broken.
You should check if the phone is reconigzed by a computer. Changing the lcd screen is a challenging task, but if you are patient you can do it.

No one thought Sony could calibrate a hardware this much, well they did and the results are mind boggling! Well done! If only the wifi could have been fixed!
Such an amazing contrast on the screen now instead of the washout we had before.

Absolutely. Makes ya wonder why they didn't having it looking like this in the first place. lol
They bumped up the contrast for sure, I was using a modified wallpaper with higher contrast and after the update the first thing I've noticed was how oversaturated it was!!! And I thought.. Something s wrong here..!

I've just flashed the kernel for now and can notice a difference, the green in my theme looks a lot brighter.
The screen is brighter somewhat too

[EDIT - no barometer on H1 duh!] Anyone find a working barometer app?

I haven't found an app in the market that displays my htc one's barometer reading properly, or at all really. Is it just me?

I was not aware the One has a Barometer (you mean a barometric pressure sensor?)?
Yes, that's what I meant.
Well, that would certainly explain it, if it doesn't have one!
So it doesn't? Maybe I've been reading too many s4 vs h1 articles where it listed the s4 as having a barometer but didn't comment on the h1.
It doesnt have a temperature sensor

[Q] Kernel with color support?

I came from the GNex to the ONE and was wondering if any kernels are supporting the gamma/RGB color changes that were possible with that phone. Or is this something that is not possible due to the screens not being the same.
This isn't a kernel mod
Because the led that htc use is only green/red
How is it possible to have only 2 colors? You need all 3 for it to work correctly. Primary colors.
I like the screen now but miss being able to change it whenever I felt the need.

OP is talking about adjusting screen colour, gamma settings etc.. not LED.
I'm not aware of any current kernels that support this feature.

HTC phones don't have these issues like other phones, imo so no settings like that are necessary

I haven't found any yet and didn't want to ask in each of their threads. Lol. Hopefully someone will find it a cool "add-on" to their kernel in the future.

Unfortunately there is no choice to oversaturate the colors on the display. If that's what you need, consider getting a phone with AMOLED display.

Not mad, but for those looking for high saturation, there is no replacement for AMOLED.

Dude, whether or not you believe that there's no replacement for AMOLED (and I do agree with that statement) has no bearing on whether or not someone chooses to mess with screen color. I love the screen of my HTC One however, I wouldn't mind tweaking it a little to match my custom colors that I've implemented on my N4. Just saying...

Well if you read what I wrote, you'd see I HAD an amoled display. I don't now which is why I asked the question if this was possible on the ONE. If a kernel dev adds it in their kernel, then there will be a choice. And with Android, there is always a choice.
Thanks for the replies guys. I'll ask the kernel devs if they have plans to try it out.

I hope a kernel comes out for this. One thing I noticed is that my screen is a tad too warm. That's all I want to change. Make it a bit cooler to get a more neutral color temperature. Wouldn't want to touch. Saturation though. Love the colors for this screen.

We need HTC to release the kernel sources first.
