One of the very very few nice things with 2.1 was the display zoom feature so games like Drop 7 (great puzzle game, BTW) could be scaled to fit the screen. Any option like that for JB, or is that a non legacy function from ICS?
I'm also curious about this feature and didn't see info on this elsewhere in the forum. I did some googling and the only mention I can find is someone discussing that this feature was removed in the latest Android. I'd post the link but since I have too few posts that feature is blocked for me.
Any more knowledgeable folks out there that can confirm/deny what's going on with this?
Wonder why it was removed from JB? It worked fine. Now Drop 7 is a tiny window. Also smaller on my S3 and Excite 7.7 with JB, but the higher res with the HD+ makes it like a large postage stamp.
Surprised there is no rooted app for this.
Have you tried Settings > Accessibility > Magnification gestures?
That option is not in CM settings that I could find.
I also can not find an option to force open GL, that is in my other JB using devices.
Open GL I'd normally in developer settings, but that is not in settings. As with no magnification option in accessibility.
That said, a magnification setting is not in any of my devices.
Screenshot of 'Magnification gestures' option below. It's probably not what you want, however.

That is scary. Completely missed that. Seems to work fine for Drop 7, since zooms 3X and not blurry
Do we also have the force open GL option, or was that removed from 4.2.2?
Developer options > Force 4x MSAA ?
Makes sense.

Hello folks... today I have for you a small theme and a fitting dialer.
While the theme isn't working well on landscape (I'll do it later), the dialer works both on portrait and landscape - it even works properly on square displays.
Have fun!

wow what a great theme...thnx Utak3r
Thanks. You can download also my theme for BatteryStatus (you can see it in action on this screenshot). It's here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1634471&postcount=2771
This theme reminds me of Ubuntu Linux
Keep up the good work, but pardon me for having a different taste. I only like chocolate brown when I can eat it, not on my today screen.
But can you tell us what the visible today screen plugins are, besides BatteryStatus?
thanks
I like the look of this. Many thanks for your efforts.
Keep up the good work.

Just tried both items; excellent. 2 questions:
- have you thought about having another view option within the dialer to switch off the contacts window entirely?
- noticed as well that whatever view option one selects, as soon as you close the dialer down and reopen it defaults straight back to the "calls & contacts" view option. You might want to fix this so that whatever view option is chosen remains until manually changed over again.
- also have you thought of creating a dialer with a video option within it, so that its universal and can run on, say, a hermes/TyTN?
Cheers

Hello;
Not only am I new to the Note 5, but Android too. I come from Windows Phone (a Lumia 1520).
I can't find the option to have notifications wake up my screen. Supposedly is under Settings -> Sounds and Notifications, but it is not showing for me. See the screencap.
I downloaded Glimpse Notifications, but I figured it should be a stock option? Also, is there a way to increase the timeout for the screen when Glimpse Notifications turns it on?
Oh, I followed dlthe de-bloat and de-touchwiz guide from the General subforum. Used the basic xml to disable packages. Don't know if that's related.
Thanks for any guidence!

Hi,
If you use these toggles a lot (which you should), a quick edit now will make your life easier.
Organize the quick settings
Samsung-Galaxy-Note-5-toggles
1. Pull down the Quick Settings and tap EDIT in the top right corner
2. From here you can drag the toggles around as you like
3. There must be at least 5 toggles in the Quick Settings
TO remove unnecessarily apps
Let’s do it.
1.Open the app drawer to see all of your apps
2.Long-press on the app you’d like to remove
3.The app drawer will close and you’ll see an option for Disable or Uninstall
4.Drag the app to the trash can
If you would like to revive a disabled app you can go to Settings > Applications > Application manager. Swipe over to the Disabled tab and find the app.

I have seen in several apps the Samsung keyboard is shrunk by almost half, not touching the sides of the screen, and it's like a miniature version of the keyboard. Does anyone else have this issue? Is it just an app developer thing that is conflicting with the new screen size?
One app I know is doing it Hearthstone

Turn off one handed mode. I use Gboard for its larger, more customizable keyboard.

That's not the fix.
This is the gaming mode keyboard. You need to go to Game Tools and turn the gaming keyboard off.
I searched settings for all things game, none have the keyboard option. I looked into the game launcher settings, and it wasn't there either.
It was a setting in game tools. It's called floating keyboard, and it was auto set to on. I had to open a game, go to the game tools icon on the nav bar, then go to "additional feature". The option was in there.
BTW: thanks for the help guys.
Hello, I have bought the S10 exynos version and updated to the latest updates. I enjoyed it for this past few days until I realized something's not right with the .heif to .jpg conversion (?)
I set my camera photo's setting to use .heif file format, then when I was in WhatsApp and select that image to be shared. it automatically rotated by 90 degrees. Has anyone encounter this problem too? It's really annoying when sharing a lot of images as I have to rotate in one by one.
I have the same problem and can't figure a way around it. Any one found a solution?

Same here. Sharing HEIF on whatsapp rotate every picture shoot with vertical phone 90° left. Nothing abnormal happens with horizontal HEIF.
Yeah this happens only with heif, it seems all apps outside the "gallery" can't read the orientation tag of heif properly.
Until a fix is found, i'm forced to use .jpg format...
My Exynos S10e has this problem as well. Let's hope for a quick fix.
Seems that other apps (e.g. WhatsApp) do not consider image rotation properly.
Try to switch this: Gallery > Settings > Convert HEIF images when sharing
Go to camera-settings-format and advanced options and turn off HEIF. Should fix the error....
this solved mine in EMUI
go to Settings>>Apps>>Gallery
and select "auto rotate" in "photo orientation" setting

Here's how to activate the “Gallery Labs” hidden settings on Samsung smartphones
How to activate Samsung Gallery Labs
It doesn't take long to activate Samsung's Gallery Labs via the Samsung Gallery application, but we would like to point out right away that some options may vary depending on the version of Samsung's One UI installed on your device. In fact, if you have a smartphone with One UI 2.5 at your fingertips, as in our case, you will find the same options you see in the gallery below; otherwise, if you are among the many who use the One UI 3.0 or the very recent One UI...
Having made this necessary premise, we are finally ready to find out how to activate Samsung Gallery Labs. First you need to start the Samsung Gallery application, tap the magnifying glass on the three dots at the top right of the side and select the "Settings" item. Once you have entered the app settings menu, you need to scroll down, tap on "About Gallery" and tap repeatedly on the version of the app until the message "[Labs] appears on the screen. Gallery is enabled ".
Once this is done, you need to go back to the previous screen and locate the new “Gallery Labs” panel. Inside there are a series of "advanced settings" that normally cannot be exploited without activating this feature.

For quite some time! Or at least since OneUI 2.5 could be installed on the Note 8. And this thing I discovered by chance on the internet.
