Here's how to activate the “Gallery Labs” hidden settings on Samsung smartphones
How to activate Samsung Gallery Labs
It doesn't take long to activate Samsung's Gallery Labs via the Samsung Gallery application, but we would like to point out right away that some options may vary depending on the version of Samsung's One UI installed on your device. In fact, if you have a smartphone with One UI 2.5 at your fingertips, as in our case, you will find the same options you see in the gallery below; otherwise, if you are among the many who use the One UI 3.0 or the very recent One UI...
Having made this necessary premise, we are finally ready to find out how to activate Samsung Gallery Labs. First you need to start the Samsung Gallery application, tap the magnifying glass on the three dots at the top right of the side and select the "Settings" item. Once you have entered the app settings menu, you need to scroll down, tap on "About Gallery" and tap repeatedly on the version of the app until the message "[Labs] appears on the screen. Gallery is enabled ".
Once this is done, you need to go back to the previous screen and locate the new “Gallery Labs” panel. Inside there are a series of "advanced settings" that normally cannot be exploited without activating this feature.

For quite some time! Or at least since OneUI 2.5 could be installed on the Note 8. And this thing I discovered by chance on the internet.

I'm new to WM6 phones, but pretty well balanced as far as electronics. For the life of my, I cannot get rid of a row of icons on my tilt. I've installed HTC Home and the manager, but i still have the icons that come with tilt. There as follows.
Battery Icon, Rotate screen, Comm manager, Back light options, Messages, and then recent calls.
I've deleted everything else, and seen just about everybody not have these icons. The only thing I've left really is the appointments. I appreciate your help in advance, thanks! -Jeff
Found an example, it's a few of these 9 icons u see

Those are plug-ins.
Go to Setting --> Today and uncheck those plug-ins which you do not want them to show on the Home Screen.

Everything is unchecked but HTC Home and the manager. I thought thats what controlled them but its not.
Hi,this plugin is HTCHomeplug with 4 icons only ( Battery Icon, Rotate screen, Comm manager, Back light options ).You can add more shortcut to edit this key in the registry :
HKLM\software\HTC\HTChomeplug and add 5,6,7,8,9 and copy the same thing that 2 or 3 with your shortcut.
Thanks for the response Marcd. I don't want to add any though, I want to remove them all so it looks less cluttered. Any ideas?
Uncheck the HTC Home option in the Today Screen menu in Settings.
When I remove HTC Home, it gets rid of my 5 button HTC Home with the clock and everything. I'm trying to remove that very bottom row of 9 icons in the example picture above.
One of the very very few nice things with 2.1 was the display zoom feature so games like Drop 7 (great puzzle game, BTW) could be scaled to fit the screen. Any option like that for JB, or is that a non legacy function from ICS?
I'm also curious about this feature and didn't see info on this elsewhere in the forum. I did some googling and the only mention I can find is someone discussing that this feature was removed in the latest Android. I'd post the link but since I have too few posts that feature is blocked for me.
Any more knowledgeable folks out there that can confirm/deny what's going on with this?
Wonder why it was removed from JB? It worked fine. Now Drop 7 is a tiny window. Also smaller on my S3 and Excite 7.7 with JB, but the higher res with the HD+ makes it like a large postage stamp.
Surprised there is no rooted app for this.
Have you tried Settings > Accessibility > Magnification gestures?
That option is not in CM settings that I could find.
I also can not find an option to force open GL, that is in my other JB using devices.
Open GL I'd normally in developer settings, but that is not in settings. As with no magnification option in accessibility.
That said, a magnification setting is not in any of my devices.
Screenshot of 'Magnification gestures' option below. It's probably not what you want, however.

That is scary. Completely missed that. Seems to work fine for Drop 7, since zooms 3X and not blurry
Do we also have the force open GL option, or was that removed from 4.2.2?
Developer options > Force 4x MSAA ?
Makes sense.
Want to know how to get this phone icon that I have on my home screen?

Then follow these instructions below!
1. Go to the Google Play Store and search up QuickShortcutMaker.
2. Install the app.
(Were you expecting a picture here? Ok ok. I already have the app installed, and it's just a hassle to uninstall and reinstall it.)
3. Open the app. Then wait for it to load all of the apps, then select whatever app you want and tap it (This time, we are going to create a shortcut of the "Cellular Data" app, which is the stock phone app).
4. Then, if you want to create the shortcut right away, press "Create" (bottom right of the screen). If you want to try launching it, press "Try". If you want to check out its info, press "App Info". You can also share the app's info by pressing "Share app info". And the "View on Google Play Store" button is self-explanatory.
When you press "Create", the app closes and, viola! The app shortcut is created!
Once you master the art of making shortcuts, you can start baffling many people with your out of place shortcuts, from noobs to devs to your parents and siblings!
I hope your time was well spent reading this!

Hello;
Not only am I new to the Note 5, but Android too. I come from Windows Phone (a Lumia 1520).
I can't find the option to have notifications wake up my screen. Supposedly is under Settings -> Sounds and Notifications, but it is not showing for me. See the screencap.
I downloaded Glimpse Notifications, but I figured it should be a stock option? Also, is there a way to increase the timeout for the screen when Glimpse Notifications turns it on?
Oh, I followed dlthe de-bloat and de-touchwiz guide from the General subforum. Used the basic xml to disable packages. Don't know if that's related.
Thanks for any guidence!

Hi,
If you use these toggles a lot (which you should), a quick edit now will make your life easier.
Organize the quick settings
Samsung-Galaxy-Note-5-toggles
1. Pull down the Quick Settings and tap EDIT in the top right corner
2. From here you can drag the toggles around as you like
3. There must be at least 5 toggles in the Quick Settings
TO remove unnecessarily apps
Let’s do it.
1.Open the app drawer to see all of your apps
2.Long-press on the app you’d like to remove
3.The app drawer will close and you’ll see an option for Disable or Uninstall
4.Drag the app to the trash can
If you would like to revive a disabled app you can go to Settings > Applications > Application manager. Swipe over to the Disabled tab and find the app.

Use your Fingerprint to launch apps quickly. You can set each of your fingers to open different apps
Want to open an App real quick? Tired of using gestures? Want a faster way to open hidden App? The FingerPrint Launcher is the right one for you.
The FingerPrint Launcher allows you to open an app real quick with a touch of a button, anywhere and anytime. You just have to just select which finger launches which app*, then you hold down the menu button and let the app scan your finger and your done. The app is immediately launched.
You can replace your traditional app lock software which consumes a lot of battery with the help of this App. Most Launcher comes with a hide an app option. So just hide the app and set FingerPrint Launcher as the easiest way to open your hidden app** .Instead of using gestures to open an app which any one can do, the fingerprint remains your alone.
The app uses long press homebutton to start scanning the fingerprint.
Should work with All Samsung Mobile with fingerprint sensor support having android OS 4.4.2+
