My PC and phone setup works as expected but gives error when booting in flash mode. PC Companion and other tools (Flashtools) can recognize device but holding back button while connecting to usb (when it is already OFF) makes "Device driver failed" error and makes yellow exclamation mark on device manager for "SEMC FLASH ...."
Win7 XP 64 Bit
Sony Experia X8
Latest PC Companion app.
What I tried:
- Disabled antivirus from beginning.
- Gordon's Gate Driver "ggsetup-2.2.0.10" and "ggsetup-2.2.0.11".
- Flashtools/Drivers/ "X8 ADB Driver"
- Another Win7 64 Bit Computer with disabled antivirus
It fails only when detecting the sim lock type with S1Tool. My phone led turns green as expected. I follow this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1693308
Now I get "Access Denied" error
I' ve copied "X8 ADB drivers" to somewhere and tried to update drivers by "Update Drivers" on device manager by choosing X8 ADB Drivers.
And now "S1 Tool" freezes or says
PLEASE ATTACH TURNED OFF PHONE NOW
llbug:[\\?\USB#VID_0FCE&PID_ADDE#5&30124de0&0&5#{a5dcbf10-6530-11d2-901f-00c04fb951ed}] open error: "Access is denied"
Elapsed:70 secs.
on the flashing screen.
I tried when AV is Off with no luck
I will try flashing in the safe mode as suggested on another post.
How to get X8 ADB Driver: When installing drivers from flashtool it will temporarily copy the driver files to "C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\..." (ass seen on the install screen) . Copy the files from there before installation complete.
SuperOneClick
SuperOneClick was the correct way to unlock my bootloader. But know I can't install custom kernel. Because this time flashtool can't recognize my device in flash screen.
I will try with Flashtool 6.9.1 instead of 0.9

Hello everyone!
My Xperia T LT30P is stuck at "device encrytion failed please reset" everytime I turn it on. The "Reset Device" button on this screen doesn't do anything when tapped.
I tried to flash 7.0.A-Global firmware via Flashtool but it always gets stuck here at 0%:

Is there anything else I should try?
Thanks a lot for reading.
flash a latest version of JB,
or better yet, install PCCompanion (Just google it) and repair your phone that way

did you try Phone Repair option in PC Companion?
Thanks for your replies.
I have also tried LT30p_9.1.A.1.140_CE_Skyfall.ftf but same result. I have also tried different versions of flashtool.
PC Companion can't detect my phone. I have tried 2 different computers and each one is stuck on install MTP drivers. I guess unless the drivers are installed, PC companion won't detect it.
I have also tried connecting the phone in flash mode but PC companion asks to restart the phone in normal mode.
run the driver.exe file in the flashtool installation folder.
choose fastboot, flashmode and tx drivers
try again with pccompanion

PC companion still can't detect the phone. I have installed/re-installed all the drivers you mentioned.
As Flashtool isn't able to flash the .ftf firmware to the phone, is there any other firmware available that can be flashed via fastboot?
No.
Try downloading Sony's EMMA program and repairing with that

Thanks for your suggestion.
Seems like EMMA only works with unlocked bootloaders. And my Xperia T can't be unlocked as USB debugging is off and there is no way I can turn it back on.
Further help needed, please.
Hi guys,
I accidentally formatted /system on my T with UB.
Now it won't start (it says "Sony", then nothing happens). It now has no recovery and if I connect the phone in fastboot or flashmode, the usual PC I use to flash says me that "Sony ADB interface" is connected, but it can't find any driver.
What can I do now?
Thanks in advance for the reply.

If it says "Sony ADB interface" when you connect it, then you don't need a driver, it's already installed (you can confirm this if you open Device Manager in Windows and check if it's listed as an "ADB interface" and there are no "Unknown Devices" and/or devices named in relation to your phone that have a yellow exclamation mark.
Just flash a stock FTF, or download one of the kernels for T that have a recovery, and flash any ROM you like.
First of all, thanks for the reply.
The strange thing about this time brick is that my pc doesn't recognize the phone. Other times, infact, I used it with the same phone to relive the Xperia T, after strange things happened.
Instead, this time the phone is recognized as "Sony ADB interface" and the pc says there's no driver in it. And it can't find in the system (I'm using an old laptop with Windows XP on it).
That's the reason why the system (and Flashtool, too: it says, in red, that I need to install the drivers for my phone) doesn't recognize the phone.
Now I'm trying the T into another Windows XP old laptop system...I hope it works (and I hope USB 1.1 will be fine, too...).
EDIT: this "new" pc see my phone, connected in fastboot mode, as "SEMC Flash Device" and it is installing the drivers. I've already installed fastboot/flashmode drivers from Flashtool Drivers folder.
RE-EDIT: PC can see the Xperia T, but Flashtool always says that it is connected in "flash mode", even if I connect it in fastboot mode. What should I do, now?
RE-RE-EDIT: The phone is recognized only in flashmode, even if I installed all the drivers. I'm trying to flash .141 and it seems to work. Let's see what happens.

Ok, well, no idea about it being stuck in flash mode, but, isn't that exactly what you want? To flash a stock FTF you need to be in flash mode. As a matter of fact, you can even flash only the kernel of an FTF in flash mode, it wouldn't have a recovery, since it would be a stock kernel, but at least you could get a working kernel, if that were the issue, which it is not.
What are you doing to put your phone into fastboot mode?
I wanted to use fastboot to flash a kernel with recovery and then flash the backup of my old ROM.
However, it doesn't worked. Only flashmode worked. So I flashed (really slowly, because of USB 1.1 ports of this old IBM laptop!) .141 and now the phone is living again.
Dunno why fastboot didn't work. Maybe because there wasn't any firmware on?

No because the whole point of fastboot mode is to be able to flash firmware related files. Fastboot mode, just as Flash mode, starts before the Android OS starts. If they depended on there being an OS installed it would defeat the whole point.
So I really dunno why it didn't work. Later I'll try to see if now fastboot is working again.

When you don't have a ROM installed, stock kernels recovery won't work. Flash CM 11s Kernel, you'll have recovery then restore you're backup
I don't even know how to start...
Just say, I want to try a lollipop on zr c5502.
and downloaded a fw from Xperifirm (and converted to ftf) and this tread http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-zr/general/stock-lollipop-android-5-0-2-build-10-6-t3114391
No error both while downloading.
But, I cant install either via flashtool
Firstly, my device wont get in flashmode green led only flash less than a second before gone. But flashtool said its connected, surely I cant flash anything.
I try fastboot blue led stay there, but flashtool dont show my device was connect in fastboot mode.
Then flashtool always show Device connected in flash mode. and I don't even connect my device to pc.
I've tried reinstall flashtool
change my usb cable and port
remove sd card from my phone
remove other usb component but mouse and keyboard
reinstall all flashtool driver.
Still problem
More data I can provide.
- Flashtool 0.9.18.5
- Xperifirm 4.5.3
- Windows 8.1 x64
- My device still working no bootloop, brick or anything wrong no button stuck or something like that

Hi ZervZ,
First off, are you sure you have the proper usb drivers installed ?
also make sure to end any running adb connections by other software, ie: if you have bluestacks, genymotion or any other android emulator, make sure to close it completely and end the adb process using task manager (just to avoid any conflicts)
third, how do you boot in fastboot mode ?
it should be : completely turn off your device, connect the usb cable to the PC usb port (not the mobile yet), now press and keep holding the volume down key, while holding the volume down connect the micro usb to the device and continue holding the volume down key.
If this wasn't what you were doing, try it out and let me know what happend.
I'm surely a usb driver are properly installed. Every device but my phone work properly.
For flashtool drivers. Firstly, I've try installed only my device and flashmode+fastboot drivers = not working
then installed all driver that driver pack delivered = not working too. (both install with driver signing off, all green)
I'm not using or even installed any android emulator on my pc. only one program that I aware of conflict with flashtool is sony pc companion, which I'm not open it at all.
how I get in fastboot, same method as you provide but I used vol up, vol down for flashmode .(neither working with flashtool, even I've a blue led on, they still shown Ive connected in flashmode)
Now I'm try to uninstall a semc flash device driver and s1 service.
I think its a source of my problem, but problem is I can't. haha.
Might be need reinstall my windows
Edit: After I've restore my windows to the point before Ive install any drivers. Problem still persist, now its get worst, because pcc shown Ive connected sony device all the time .(same with flashtool.)

have you installed the drivers for ZR itself? when u installed Flashmode and fastboot drivers, u must have missed to tick the drivers for Lagan, Fusion3 board which are for ZR. reinstall all 3 I mentioned above and see if it works,
Also what version of flashtool are ou using? I am using 9.13 for my ZR which is recommended by the dev for first Z series phones. u may want to consider that as well

Well, yes I installed Lagan board on my my 1st try. Its wasn't work.
Then I just installed all of them, still wont work. Or even no driver installed from driver package. (only flashtool and connect my phone) that wont work too.
Same problem, but it can connected on 1st try, if I try to flash anything they will error and stay connected in flashmode again (Until I uninstalled a driver & reboot my pc)
As I said, flashtool 0.9.18 since its a latest version, might try 0.9.13 :good:
And.. I cant repair my phone via pcc too. Since they need to get in flashmode :crying:
have u tried http://developer.sonymobile.com/downloads/tool/flash-tool-for-xperia-devices/ ?
Bootloader is unlocked so you can not repair using PCC

OK, so I'm gonna assume that you have at least a working recovery. Here's a possible solution: Have you tried flashing a stock based custom ROM (e.g: Kryptonian, MX Rom or DStrikers Z1 Kai)? Then, from there you can flash a pure stock via flashtool.
guys, this was mentioned a couple times already, best way is to download Emma from Sony and flash the official software. Then you can flash a kernel via fastboot again and all should work. This is due to Nougat is corrupting the apps log partition which is not in use there, but is required for stock Lollipop. I did that a couple times and all worked fine...
Ok, i will try the mxrom and than, but i tried that already and do i need first to lock my bootloader and then flash stock, emma didnt recognice my phone same as flashtool and one thing more, i tried to flash kernel sin from ftf via fastboot bud it says image is not boot image and says fail. I tried on win 10 same to do win recognizes phone as somc bit flashtool doesnt recognize phone.
