there's a line in build.prop, defining H/W keys or not.
But sadly i don't remember the same now, but it should be clear which one it is, when you read it

Thanks for the information.:good:
as mentioned in build.prop there is a line called qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 change this to qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 this will hopefully remove sofkeys
If it's customable, you can try setting the height at 0. It works for me, as the navbar dissapears.

Can I ask what ROM you are using? I'm using the carbon ROM, and initially there were no softkeys, but then after turning them on, I can't seem to turn them off.
TIA
Edit: nvm just set height to zero as well. has (off) by it, so i assume that's how you get rid of it

Then you need to reboot device and if you mess up build.prop permissions you will get boot loop. This app will allow to hide/restore navigation bar on the fly and risk free
I have installed the all bit it isn't work. It Makes another bar on the one present net.

Your device is rooted right? Metallijim in Nexus 4 thread confirmed that it works on Xperia Z and added screenshot too. Did you try version 'without.detection' ?
I have stock rom with root.. I have installed the apk and granted superuser permission but it doesn't work
It works for my phone, it would be perfect if the red trigger line turns transparent. Great works.

Tried the app on my ZL. The auto-hiding works and the replacement reacts, but it is rather small, like the status bar. Allowing to change the dpi of the replacement would be appreciated.

The app works great and I like it!! Only some minor issues:
-When you change to full screen the wallpaper sometimes change to the original (known issue).
-When reboot sometimes the notification bar disappear for a minute or less.
-When you hide soft keys or show soft keys the percent battery on the status bar disappear.
Thank you

These are a bit tricky to fix, but I'm researching it. I hope to improve Quick NavBar enough that you won't need turn on/off stock soft keys often. I added Google Now button in latest dev version release.

If you're already using xposed, install Gravity Box and assign the power menu function to one of the buttons you already have. No need to mod the systemUI.apk.
thanks

I've tried but there seems to be a problem with the gravity box, everytime I enable the module, I have 2 battery icon in the notification area, one stock and one big white empty bar, when I chose to untick it is gone but when I tick some box and reboot my phone, it'll come back again. and I found the power button thing but when I did it, the ratio of 5 button is incorrect, the home button is not in the middle anymore,
now I disabled the module and everything came back to normal.
any suggestion?

First of all, if you have two battery icons, then you're most likely using two different modules that alter the battery icon (maybe Xblast, or alike). Secondly, you don't need to enable the status bar/battery icon setting in GB, you can just disable it; all it does is change the icon, not add anything, so like I said, if you have two icons, you've got some other module interfering. And I'm pretty sure you don't need to enable the navigation bar features in order to use the Navigation Key actions settings. Check out my attached screenshots.

I have GEM xperia xposed, Xperia/AOSP Navbar bttons/Xperia xposed, these 3 modules are the ones I enabled. If I disable Xperia/Navbar module and use gravitybox Can I make 5 buttons?
and about the battery icons, I have no idea which module is interfering? I don't really mess up with those in notification bar.
Thank you

With Gravity Box you can have a Menu, Back, Recent, Home, and Custom button navigation bar; that would make five buttons. When I used that specific feature they were never messed up. I don't know how heavily modified your SystemUI or framework is, but all those modules you're using modify the SystemUI, so what I would do is disable those and then enable Gravity Box and see if you get the same two battery icons.
I don't think you'd need to disable any modules, you just need to know which features of which modules change what.
For instance, I'm using Gravity Box, which can change the battery, but I like using the Circle with Text Percentage battery icon, and the one in Gravity Box looks a bit off to me, so I leave that option on stock, and installed Xbattery Themer to change the battery icon, which appears as can be seen in my previous screenshots.
Previously, before modding my own framework, I used to even use Xblast and Gravity Box at the same time (and sometimes still do). They both have similar features, but I don't use the same features of both modules at once.

I don't like the factory software buttons for back, home, recent app list.
I miss having the full screen and being able to swipe in with pie control. Anyone have this implemented yet?
Does anyone know the build.prop tweak for nexus 6 to remove the stock nav buttons?
If you're rooted you can disable the nav bar with a build. Prop tweak, then use LMT launcher (not launcher replacement) for pie
I use PIE Control on Play. Works great, but requires root. It also asks for a bunch of permissions as you can control the entire device with it

@skripta, I see the problem. I'm trying to use it from the bottom and not the sides. If I try the sides, it works fine... Odd
Perhaps cause I haven't deactivated the stock softbutton controls is why the bottom doesn't work?

Negative, copy paste. That flag tells Android that you have hardware keys, and therefore disable the Navbar.

Yeah i get that since this has been an option in almost all roms, but wondering what happens then if you do this on a phone with no physical buttons. Lol are you just stuck in whatever you go in?

Stuck a bit, you can still access settings via status bar.
You can always adb and change the build.prop by computer. SlimROM already has a toggle cooked in Settings to enable/disable navbar or change the size.
Our phones are almost perfect, the rooted Pure edition ALMOST has no need for a custom ROM. There are only two things I haven't been able to do. Center the clock and change the height and color of the Nav Bar. Does anyone know of an app that will allow this? I don't want to hide it just change the height and transparency. I looked for something in the build.prop but it isn't there. This is the first phone I've had with softkeys
If you're on KK still you can use Xposed + GravityBox. That's what I do. My navbar is at 65% height and I also have a quick settings toggle that hides it completely and turns on PIE controls so I can game in full screen.

Hey guys, just wondering what process would I follow to add the nav bar to the note 4. I know its gonna be a waste of screen real estate but I really prefer the nav bar over having to reach the physical home button.

I would really like this too. Unfortunately I have only been able to get it by either (1) using AOSP/CM roms, and (2) using Dynamic Kat rom. DK is the only Touchwiz based rom that I have seen with the feature. It works, but it is not customizable and does not utilize the swipe up "navring" feature.
There are some apps that mimic the navbar, but they don't work well on the Note 4 because they just put the bar on top of other screen elements (apps, home screen) instead of pushing everything else up.

no there is no way you can edit system stuff without being rooted. You have to be rooted and then using any root explorer, I like solid explorer, you can edit build.prop. qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 can go anywhere in there so just add it at the end of build.prop
I just found this thead. They seem to be saying its not possible as the UI elements for the nav bar are not included in the OS.

Any other way to get the NavBar with a TW featured ROM?

Same. It just constantly force closes if you use the build.prop method.
As I stated previously, you can use Dynamic Kat rom which is Touchwiz and includes the option to use on-screen buttons.

I see it was reported by those who have 5.0.1 touchwiz that navbar soft keys are possible on that build so you'll have to wait for tmobile to release it to find out
I use Pie Control from the play store. You need to swipe in the the sides or the bottom to activate it. There are a lot of options for customization as well. It also makes one handed use much easier. No root required.
