I don't like the factory software buttons for back, home, recent app list.
I miss having the full screen and being able to swipe in with pie control. Anyone have this implemented yet?
Does anyone know the build.prop tweak for nexus 6 to remove the stock nav buttons?
If you're rooted you can disable the nav bar with a build. Prop tweak, then use LMT launcher (not launcher replacement) for pie
I use PIE Control on Play. Works great, but requires root. It also asks for a bunch of permissions as you can control the entire device with it

@skripta, are you using the one by coolace? I was just using that one and it didn't work... I'm rooted, but never got a prompt to grant root privielage to it.

I think it only needs root of you have the 3 dot menu in pie and go to use it.

@skripta, I see the problem. I'm trying to use it from the bottom and not the sides. If I try the sides, it works fine... Odd
Perhaps cause I haven't deactivated the stock softbutton controls is why the bottom doesn't work?

Negative, copy paste. That flag tells Android that you have hardware keys, and therefore disable the Navbar.

Yeah i get that since this has been an option in almost all roms, but wondering what happens then if you do this on a phone with no physical buttons. Lol are you just stuck in whatever you go in?

Stuck a bit, you can still access settings via status bar.
You can always adb and change the build.prop by computer. SlimROM already has a toggle cooked in Settings to enable/disable navbar or change the size.

Thanks for the thought, but it didn't work for me. It bunched the icons close together and the status bar went away.
It's an Alpha, so I'm sure an update will be out soon (I hope... ).
is there any way to hide the "honeycomb" status bar? I'd like to hide it when i read PDFs or playing games.

Supposedly, it's not possible to completely hide it, or so says the author of the Honeybar app.
*** Important note for ICS users: Honeybar is unsupported on ICS and will not hide the UI bar. I have examined the source for ActivityManagerService and it currently appears impossible to stop com.android.systemui

BTW, that tool, HoneyBar, doesnt work with ICS, you need to have a "special" service.jar file to be able to shutdown the SystemUI service "forever"

Hey guys, just wondering what process would I follow to add the nav bar to the note 4. I know its gonna be a waste of screen real estate but I really prefer the nav bar over having to reach the physical home button.

I would really like this too. Unfortunately I have only been able to get it by either (1) using AOSP/CM roms, and (2) using Dynamic Kat rom. DK is the only Touchwiz based rom that I have seen with the feature. It works, but it is not customizable and does not utilize the swipe up "navring" feature.
There are some apps that mimic the navbar, but they don't work well on the Note 4 because they just put the bar on top of other screen elements (apps, home screen) instead of pushing everything else up.

no there is no way you can edit system stuff without being rooted. You have to be rooted and then using any root explorer, I like solid explorer, you can edit build.prop. qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 can go anywhere in there so just add it at the end of build.prop
I just found this thead. They seem to be saying its not possible as the UI elements for the nav bar are not included in the OS.

I've tried the buildprop edit but when I reboot it shows me a SYSTEMUI CRASH and I have to revert back to my nandroid backup. I don't think there's anyway around it being on a rooted TW Rom. *Hyperdrive ROM
Any other way to get the NavBar with a TW featured ROM?

Same. It just constantly force closes if you use the build.prop method.
As I stated previously, you can use Dynamic Kat rom which is Touchwiz and includes the option to use on-screen buttons.

I see it was reported by those who have 5.0.1 touchwiz that navbar soft keys are possible on that build so you'll have to wait for tmobile to release it to find out
I use Pie Control from the play store. You need to swipe in the the sides or the bottom to activate it. There are a lot of options for customization as well. It also makes one handed use much easier. No root required.
I was wondering if any one knew how to hide the nav bar when the keyboard was open. Where it really bothers me the most is when I'm texting.

You can use Systemui tuner app, from playstore, there is an option "inmersive mode", you choose navigation bar, and the nav bar will ALWAYS hide, even in home screen, but for this app to work, you need to grant permissions with ADB, the app itself guides you for doing it, look at this:

Well, I use AI type keyboard, the nav bar appears below the keyboard, and the back arrow in nav bar changes to a down arrow to hide the keyboard, I find this as a good implementation, the nav bar does not overlay the keyboard, or you just donot want to see it?

I did reboot, but didn't work. Turns out no longer supported for OREO.
I know some people are looking for this. I have been searching through a lot of posts and found some Apk's that didn't work or worked through the Samsung theme blaba. I found one that works without too much trouble, install and reboot! Sometimes it will ask to be Uninstalled when you delete a app. Just click cancel, sorry for original maker but I cannot find the post where I found the Apk.
Make sure to have an alternate way of navigating before installing!

I love the concept but long home press stops working, and alternatives to the nav bar dont work in secure mode.
Does any one know of a working navbar height reducer?
I have tried a few apk's that were working on S8+ but they have no effect on Note 8.
Thanks in advance

What I'd prefer is the ability to see my nav icons only across the entire system, across all apps, but make the background of the nav bar transparent. Using no themes. Stock. Does that make sense? Things are transparent whilst I'm on the home screen, naturally. So that's not an issue. But across all apps? That's what I'd LOVE to have.

If you go into settings on your Pixel and search for Navigation - you will see there is an option to turn off Gestures and use the old Navigation - I prefer that way much better too - can't get used to Gestures - at least you have the option to use it when you want and go back to the old way when you want.
Hope that helps.
