Hello everybody, yesterday I installed Android Revolution HD 10.2.
Today i noticed that there is the update to 10.3.
Do i have to wipe before update to the new version?
(Sorry, I am a noob)
Thanks.
No, you do not have to wipe since you are coming from ARHD 10.2. Just install and choose "Do not wipe my SD card" and it will work fine.

Ok, so I went from Classicnerd to CM9 Alpha 2 to the CM9 Unofficial Nightlies and I am having an issue with the latest update. It seems that when I upgrade to either the CM9 Official Nightly or the most recent Unofficial Nightly, I am getting an SD Card Removed error. It seems to be linked to the upgrade from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4. All the apps that have been moved to my SD Card partition are not accessible. Anyone know why? I haven't wiped completely, because I am happy on 4.0.3, but I just wanted to see if there is an answer for this?

It sounds like something got corrupted. If you have a good backup, restore it, then wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache and install the latest nightly. That should do it. If you don't have a good backup, try wipe delete factory reset, wipe dalvik cache and install the latest nightly. You'll have to restore your data, but that's what you get for not having a nandroid.........
Good luck.
Edit : Rereading your post, I think you'll have to do a clean install of cm9. ClassicNerd uses different source. If you have a good backup, you can try advanced restore > restore data, or Titanium.
Yes, he's right.
When going from one release to the next in the same style of series (Alpha2 => Nightlies => more nightlies), you can get away with just a wipe of the /cache and the Dalvik cache. If you go from CN => Nightlies or Nightlies => CM, or any other combo that isn't the same series, you are best set to do a full backup, then a full wipe and start fresh. You can try an Advanced Restore, but be aware it might not work.
I too am having the same problem... it first occurred with the upgrade to 4.0.4. I wiped every thing restored cm9 backup and wen I'm instcalling apps and moving them to sdcard after about five apps my sdcard is removed and will not mount. So I reverted to cm7 (got to have headphone jack) and after moving some apps the samething occured again...

Since we are talking about wiping, I would just like to chime in and ask how that is done on the TouchPad. The only other Android device I have ever owned is my Droid X2 that I use now. And when I want to wipe that, Motorola has a method of doing it to where it sets you back to stock factory settings with a file they provide. Since the TouchPad isn't an official Android device and all, what do you use to wipe it and start over? A link to a thread that explains it would be helpful. I'm sure there is one. I will look.
for an answer to the OP i found this on rootzwiki....dunno if ok to post link but ima do it anyways...remove if frowned upon:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/13277-cm7-fixes-for-sdcard-issues/
to fix my sdcard issues i AMCEUninstalled android and did a clean install of the latest moboot, gapps, clockworkmod, and cm9 A2. As for fixing the sdcard issue it also fixed alot of other things....no more Google maps constantly opening and wat not....much more stable.

Use ClockworkMod to wipe data/factory reset
I have been searching around and can't find out how exactly I should go about flashing a custom ROM on the Hero. Yes, before anyone says it, I am a noob at this, and this will be my first time flashing a ROM(if i could ever figure it out). I have the latest stable version of CyanogenMod 7, which i believe is 7.1.0, and the GApps package to go along with it. Both are on the root of my SD card. I rooted with Z4root, downloaded ROM Manager, and chose the setting to flash Clockwork Mod Recovery. Should I flash using ROM Manager, or should I boot into CWM Recovery and flash from there? If possible, does anyone have a video that could help me along with this? The video posted in the video thread for this device is down. Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks!
Boot into Clockwork Mod Recovery and flash from there.
BTW, I'm running the latest release candidate for 7.2. Works perfectly for me.
I ended up finding a video on how to flash through CWM. I also later downloaded one of the CM 7.2 RCs, believe RC2. Now my next question is, do I need to wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache if I update to a newer version of CM, like a newer RC of 7.2 or one of the early beta versions of CM9?

Wipe cache etc. when flashing a later version of CM7 over an earlier version. Do a wipe data/factory reset when flashing CM7 over CM9.
It has always been a safe route whenever you flash a new rom to just wipe data, wipe cache, and wipe dalvik.
Yes.

Heey all,
Because of a release of android ICS I wanted to install a new rom. I used MIUI, and wanted to try cyanogenmod 10.1. So what I did: I downloaded the cyanogenmod, put it on the external SD. Afterwards I went into recovery mode, backed up current rom, wipe wipe data/factory reset, wipe dalvik cache. After that I tried to install the rom by selecting rom from external SD. It says update, an after a minute it says completed. So I restarted my phone, and it got stuck.
I tried some other roms, but same results. I also tried to restore backup, but somehow it didn't work, and fails. I've tried to update CWM to version 6, but that didn't resolve my problem.
So, at this point I have:
- CWM 6
- MIUI rom 2.3, 4.1
- Cyanogenmod 10.1 (nightly), 7.2
- Some more rom's, just for trying...
- A phone (LG Optimus 2x (P990)), wich only loads LG logo, and got stuck.
I hope someone could help me out!
Edit:
I can however load the MIUI 4.1 somehow, but no other rom there is I can install...

If I understood you right, you might be still in the old bootloader....use the All In One Tool kit by Spyrosk
if you are already rooted, CWM and in ICS partition layout with unlocked bootloader....then format your system, make all the three wipes and try to flash the CM ROM again. Dont forget the gapps(ofcourse optional)
Hope that helps you my friend
My phone (AT&T version) is stuck on the HTC One boot screen after installing Android Revolution HD 3.2 (Google Play Edition).
I unlocked the bootloader, ran CWM, installed the Android Revolution HD 3.2 ROM from the zip file on my sd card, and once I finished, I can't get my phone past the boot screen. Not sure what to do. Advice?

Did you full wipe cache and dalvik cache before/after installing ARHD? This is more likely to be cache issue since you're coming from a different base.

I am currently S-Offed, running Buckmarle's latest TWRP and permanent Root via SuperSU.. Updated to latest Firmware
I flashed ARHD 22.1 today and since then stuck on boot screen. I am unable to get into recovery as well. Yes, I did wipe data before installing ARHD via Aroma installer.
Please advise

You need to ask your questions here .. this is the m7 forums

Hi there, I recently decided to try cyanogenmod and so far i have been quite impressed. I am however having a slight problem. Whenever i try to go to about phone, it automatically closes and says "unfortunately setting has stopped". I'm just curious if there is a fix for this. If not I can probably live it it. Again thanks to the developer who made it possible to get cyanogenmod on the s3 mini.
Cheers.
Hi,
boot into recovery mode and wipe both cache partition and dalvik cache. Unless anything has gone wrong with flashing, that should do.
Btw, Which ROM have you flashed?

Hi there, thanks for the response. I got cyanogenmod 10.2 20131114.
I didn't think there was an official Cyanogenmod for the Galaxy S3 Mini? Just that Maclaw variant?

Yes, I'm using the one from maclaw.
Update to the latest version fixed the problem
