[Q] Bootloader feature or issue?

After installing custom roms, the bootloader on my device goes back to locked status ("fastboot getvar all").
"adb reboot bootloader" shows "Now Ready" in upper left corner, S/W Update mode say "Bootloader Unlocked", but still locked...
I have to re-run "adb reboot oem-unlock" to solve this. No factory reset after this.
Any one else with this problem?
If it's running the ROMs fine its unlocked. And it stays unlocked. Regardless of what any tool says if its accepting custom stuff it's unlocked

I used the batch from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40011764&postcount=1
I had some tries and tests with odm_reserved to solve the unlocking problems of other users here... Maybe thats the reason.

Hmm some weird things have happened with unofficial methods, maybe there's nothing you can do unfortunately. At least there is a way for you to flash things

O4X Unlock relock bootloader tool

All Thanks to @Derjan23
I used Code from his post here
thanks to @OopsWare for his analysis of this code here
Disclaimer:
I am not responsible for any damage at your device!
You're running this program on your own risk!
Here's unlock Program it does the following
1-try to read odm_reserved
2-check if your bootloader unlocked or locked
3-calculate the most effective string that you have to echo to reverse bootloader state(it will relock if your Bootloader is unlocked - unlock if your Bootloader is locked
4-you can copy echo command and use it after su root in terminal
DONT BLOWN ALL FUSES WITH echo /data/local/tmp/odm_reserved >/sys/firmware/fuse/odm_reserved
by using this program you have 16 chances to unlock relock bootloader before all fuses blown
you can read how this works here
Someone tested on 262?

the official method checks this numbers before unlock and this method unlock directly so sure it works - if you don't already know 262 234 232 even sim locked is unlocked with odm hack I only modified it to do whats really needed only - so you have other chances to relock unlock
Yes....
I love you...
lol...
This worked perfectly....
The only thing that worked for me....
Thank you.
Hey man! Can you tell me how I can relock bootloader? ;/

There's several of them, just search and read mate.
this method works if you used official bootloader unlock method or used my program to unlock - if you used the other hack method echo /data/local/tmp/odm_reserved >/sys/firmware/fuse/odm_reserved then you have no more chances to relock - anyone can't relock should check /sys/firmware/fuse/odm_reserved contents with es file explorer before and after using program
this program for LG 4X only and you should have stock JB and rooted device

[Q] Unlocking the bootloader on AME-XXX

Hi,
I've got the international version of the Optimus 4X HD, bought online in the U.S.
It has been recently updated to V20c - the software version code is P88020c-AME-XXX.
Can I use the same unlock procedure for the EUR-XXX models, or do I need to flash EUR-XXX before attempting to unlock?
I had no troubles rooting the phone by following the instructions in this thread.

EUR-XXX worked for my ESA-XXX. It will work for you, if you have bootloader unlock check in hidden menu. You may have fastboot problem, so be ready with correct driver and correct method.
Refer to this thread if stuck on red colored Download mode for long time and no response-

Alright, thanks for the fast response.
The hidden menu indeed has the bootloader unlock check.
I'll report back once I try it.

Unlocking bootloader: definitive bye-bye to automatic updates?

With the Moto Z, after I returned the phone to stock (flashed stock firmware and locked the bootloader), I'd be able to flash stock firmware with the flashing locked.
Not so with the Motorola One Zoom. In other words, flashing stock and re-locking didn't return the phone to its pristine state. Even when flashing stock firmware over stock firmware, I have to unlock the bootloader.
Differences I observed: on the bootloader screen, when re-locked the Z would show "oem_locked" again. On the One Zoom, it shows "flashing_locked" instead. I'm pretty sure it showed "oem_locked" before unlocking.
WIth the Z, every time I wanted to unlock the bootloader, I had to issue "fastboot oem unlock" followed by the unlock code. The code isn't necessary with the re-locked One Zoom.
In other words, maybe it was a one-way trip. It seems that the phone won't return to its original state, it looks it's modified for good. And I'm afraid this means bye-bye to automatic updates.
Am I missing something here?
My bootloader is also unlocked and I dont have any problems with receiving and installing OTAs I also have Magisk and EdExposed installed - no problems at all.

Phew! I'm glad I'll be able to install OTAs. Have you tried flashing it manually or via RSD Lite? Here it won't flash.

yes.
What instruction did you use to unlock the bootloader?
What region is your device manufactured for?
Does your PC see your device connected to the fastboot mod?
What does this command give you:
Code:
fastboot devices
If the device is detected, enter the command:
Code:
fastboot getvar all
And copy the result here.

Hey all,
I have the Moto One Zoom running on Android 9.
Also, It's Rooted with Magisk and have Riru EdXposed installed, can I install my OTA updates without bootloop or do I have to Uninstall Magisk, relock bootloader and factory reset/flash stock firmware to get latest OTA updates?
Any feedback is appreciated.
Thanks
