Hey guys got my HTC one replaced and the white edge that goes around the phone seems to be a different material then before. It's a lot more spongy and it stained within 2 days of having it. anyone else experience this? it also feels a lot rougher.

I know there was some Colorware threads but just wondering if anyone has done anything first hand ?
Im curious to the results. I actually modded/painted my G1 to all white and changed the keys to black. I always loved the look so now Im getting an itch to paint my N1.
Does anyone have any insight on the materials used ?
The battery cover and bottom piece seem like the same Tefloney coating that the G1 and other HTC covers have. Not sure if the other is aluminum ?
My touch pro battery cover was the same material. I used a clothing dye to make it black. I wonder if i go Dark if I can use that method here.
I guess if nothing else I need to know if HTC sells any of the case parts seperately so I can practice ?
Any help whatsoever is appreciated.
I got a new, beautiful and smooth SIII Mini yesterday. My idea was to get a Nexus 4, but life, lemons, lemonade. Just when I was beggining to like it, beggining to make it mine, it slipped from my hands and landed on the hard and unforgiving floor of my kitchen. The horror.
The screen has now a thin crack crossing it horizontally and the display images are garbled. So I guess that's time to change the display.
Looking at Ebay I saw that replacement displays are crazy-expensive, around 300€, more than the price of a new phone. Usually screen replacements don't cost more than 50€. What's happening here?
I sent today Samsung an email asking how much for the repairs. As soon as I got the answer I'll post here, maybe there are other users with the same problem as me.
Is there anyone in a similar situation? How much was it?
You have some bad luck But i guess all new phones have expensive parts. Its just 2-3 months old.

Sorry to hear that
Blue 99.50 €
White 99.50€
Update
Went to the official Samsung shop to ask.
Guy told me a strange thing: depending of the color of the plastic surrounding the screen, price varied from 80€ to 120€. If a blue replacement was needed, 80€, white, 120€. Mine is white. And he also told me it was "forbidden by Samsung" to have a white phone with a blue screen, it voided the warranty. Strange.
I'have the same problem! I was searching for a replacement for the glass, but I could only find the glass WITH touch ,lcd ecc. ,which was very expensive! Anyone knows if it's possible to find only the front glass?
I've had my one for about a week now, and I love it. I wanted to know if anyone else has expirenced the minor problems I've had.
1 - The sides of the phone (white resin I think?) seem to crack easily, I've been extremely carful with my phone, still has some cracks the size of hairlines though.
2 - Heating problems, especially when in browser. I wanted to know if I was the only one experienceing it. I don't mind it, but if it's not meant to heat up I will mind
So , have you guys had similar or different problems?
I have a speck of dust or possibly even a faulty image sensor which manifests itself as a black dot on every image
No resellers in my area have stock to exchange at the moment.
I have noticed the plastic parts feel quite brittle.
Hi, just wanted to know if anyone else has the same problem as me. About two weeks ago I bought the Black International version, but today I noticed that on one of the corners of the metal housing the colour has started to wear off, revealing the silver metal beneath. Is this a common problem? Maybe it's just the black version that has this problem?
Thank you
Thats really bad. What did you do? I just ordered the black version and i am a little shocked because Xiaomi build quality has always been great.
I didn't really do anything special (no drops or anything), I just used it normally. I have been in talks with the shop where I bought it from, and they said the same thing - that the build quality is usually great. They are going to ship me a new one though, so hopefully that one won't have the same problem.

Well, the good thing is that a silver one would look cool hahaha
Hi people!
I got my Pixel 4 XL two weeks ago, basically the phone lives in my pocket nothing beside it. Never dropped or hit it anywhere. This morning I noticed a very small chip on the matt side frame on the top right corner. It is not a big chip, but I can see the bare metal under it. It is really annoying because as I mentioned I was really careful with the phone, I can't imagine what would have happened if I dropped it.
Is it normal? Anyone experienced the same issue?

I think someone else has a thread of a similar situation. I swap between 3 different cases all the time (One case is pretty tight) and my sides are just fine.

Yes mine has Matt paint coming off has been in case since day 1 took case off and the two bottom corners have worn off not happy at all and never once dropped my phone and the case I used is ringke case now I'm using Incipio case
I have multiple cases and swap multiple times a week and have no issues. Ranging from the otterbox to the Google fabric case.
Thanks for the input guys,
The issue is that I don't even use any case. So it is not like the case is too tight and ripping the coating off. I don't have a case on it because I hate the bulk. I got a 2 years old Pixel 2 with only a dbrand skin on the back, never had a case on it. I just removed the skin when I got my 4XL and basically the phone is in pristine condition. It just annoys me that my P4XL shows wear in few weeks.
Basically it got damaged in my pockets somehow, which is weird because I always make sure I don't have any debris in it and I never put anything else in my pocket.
Also, I have never dropped it. Anyway, it seems like I need to get a rubber case or something if I don't want the whole thing to come off by the end of this year.

Get a thin case and I would recommend contacting support and see if they would do a RMA for you. Doesn't hurt to try before they start giving out refurbished replacements.
