Help us solve the problem with battery - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

A few days ago, after the firmware Milestone #6 there was a problem with the battery in a tablet. Every hour, even in flight mode the battery loses about 4-5% charge.
If the tablet charge and leave overnight in the mode of flight, in the morning, it would be only about 60% of the charge.
I tried flashing the different firmware, even Android 2.2, deleted file batterystats.bin, nothing helps.
If the tablet actively use all in order, as before, but no-load consumption charge has increased.
Another couple of days ago and everything was fine. I'm afraid if I buy a new battery will not solve the problem and only in vain spend money.
Tell me can have the solution.
P.S. Sorry for my English.

Using an extended battery

Hi
Got an extended battery for my G1 a few days ago from ebay.
The problem is, the phone doesn't recognized it after I switched the battery. I had the same charging % as the previuos battery right after I changed it (even though I never charged it) and the max use time in Battery time lite is the same....
Any ideas ?
Thanks,
Nati
bad phone ? my ext batterys work fine from ebay
is there any way I can be sure ?
Maybe it a firmware thing ?

I had similar issues when I first got an extended battery (Seidio 2600mA). After performing the steps below, I had no problems at all. I hope it works for you.
Try a COMPLETE drain and recharge cycle, a couple times.
Run the battery down until the phone shuts itself off, restart the phone and let it run until it shuts itself off again. Repeat until it will NOT boot anymore. This will take a surprisingly longer time than you think. Load up your music player, youtube via 3G, etc... kill that thing.
Once the batter is so dead that it can't even load the splash screen for a boot charge it up, but do not turn it on. Let it charge up to full for a few hours (usually four will do it) and turn it on. If it's not at 100% yet, let it charge for a while longer. When it's at 100% take it off the charger and run it down again like before. Run it until it is totally dead.
After a couple cycles like this, you shouldn't have any problem with your phone and battery giving accurate charge status results and operating as it should.
I've read, from a few sources, that between the internal monitoring on the battery works, and the way the G1 reads the battery state, that this complete drain and recharge cycling helps to establish baselines for "empty" and "full" and keep them synchronized. If your phone has never seen an extended battery and the battery was at partial charge when inserted, it may not have been able to accurately gauge the minimum and maximum extents and give faulty readings based on prior battery data.
That could be wrong, and I don't know for sure. But, a complete drain and recharge never hurts anyway, and in my case it actually seemed to solve the problem for me.
Good luck!

[Q] Unreliable Battery!

Hi
I have noticed when I soft reset my phone the battery drops anywere from 5% up to about 70%! It varies from rom to rom. If i plug it in and softreset it a couple of times the battery goes up to around what it use to be. If it makes a difference I flash roms alot and don't usually install to many applications.
Is this normal at all or is my battery faulty? It's only about 8 months old.
Any ideas? Tips I could try?
Thanks
Imran
you know, i have the same problem when installing, touch x legendary rom, battery is about 96,96% but when i install that rom, battery drops down to 8,7%, i just plug in power for second, and battery jumps to 98%, and then all working fine...
The way phones and other devices display their state of charge (%) isn't always accurate, hence why it jumps back up 5% after plugging it in. I don't think your battery is unreliable, it's just reporting the wrong percent of charge...
I see. Mine is more like 50% so I guess mine is just really wrong! any ideas for fixing this?
Also i have the typical xperia x1 problem were it thinks the headphones are plugged in for the last 4 days. I have plugging and unplugging the headphones in heaps but it doesn't seem to work
Thanks
I have the same problem.
Phone has one year and 8 months.
Wine phone or battery?
I just got exact problem this morning
I agree with comment above, I think it just battery indicator not accurately represented battery state.
I also noticed the problem happened when I get my phone idle for a while
I was just going to start a new thread about this kind of thing. My phone's original battery has run out at anywhere between 0 and 30%... it tends to go for a couple of days if I don't use the phone much. I've tried recalibration and it doesn't really help. I thought that was bad, but I just bought a backup battery and it's even worse... yesterday it went from 100 to 50% over half a day on standby, then I used it for about ten minutes and it just went off! At 50%!
I was only expecting rubbish life from the cheap battery but at least report the charge properly so I have a chance! Old phones could always do it... why can't one that cost hundreds of pounds when it was new?
I take it there's nothing you can really do?

[Q] Battery weirdness

Hi guys,
I have attached a screenshot of a juice plot of my battery. I turned on flight mode last night and as shown for ~1.5h everything is fine and dandy but then the battery is being drained. I am at a loss regarding what might be going on there and have no clue on how to debug this. There were no apps running and I did not use the phone until the morning (turned flight mode off again).
Does anybody have an idea?
Thanks and greetings
N.
hum... I maybe seeing the same issue, the past few days my battery overnight is being drained by about 20% when in flight mode, normally it only goes down 5%~.
could it be related to the time change? only thing that I can think of that has changed in the past few days.
My battery power is a bit inconsistent and it has its good days and bad days. I am currently using the Hong Kong battery in my phone and have been making calls, using the internet and listening to music for a couple of hours while at work. The phone has been on for 22 hours and 20 minutes and the battery is reading 69% yet the other night I went to bed with the battery at about 70% and when I woke up in the morning the phone was totally dead!

Battery charges and drains quickly

Hi,
I hope somebody will be able to help / explain this issue to me - I bought the z3c two days ago (haven't charged it for 30 min before first use, really don't know if this could be an issue), and I have noticed that unlike most people's charging time (which is about 2.5-3 hours) mine is around 1.5 hours on the micro usb charger (1% per 1 minute), and the battery drains quickly with a bit heavier usage. I upgraded it automatically to lollipop, and I did a factory reset afterwards when I noticed that the battery was draining quickly. Google location services have been disabled, I only keep the auto sync on from time to time.
Is there a possibility that something is wrong with the battery or am I just doing something wrong with the applications etc? Should I wait a couple of days to see how the battery behaves? (I'm sorry if this question has been repeated somewhere else already).

Help Needed with battery life!

I need help, Since the last month, my Xperia z1 keeps turning off at 60-50 % battery. When i turn it back on without a charger plugged in it's at 1%, but when i et it charge for 2 minutes, its back at around 60 percent. Sometimes it won't charge, charge very slowly or even drop 20%.
see image for an example.

Also, these are my settings: http: //imgur.com/irqkUQT
Thanks alot in advance!
Sorry for my bad english, it's not my primairy language.
can't post any links yet, made an account just for this problem.
Your battery is dying... You need to go to a service for a battery change because this one is at the end of its life [emoji52]
I had the same problem. I changed my battery and the problem is GONE.
Since Z1 has a non-removable battery, how much do you guys pay for the battery repair ? does it co$t a lot?
Hello
I had the same problem I have to try everything. Finally I have to change battery and everything works again as before. I have had this problem since the transition. kitkat of a lollipop
what the heck do you mean by you charge the battery and the problem is gone? The problem is the phone can't survive long without charging - you can't just charge it all day long. I know because my battery has become so bad that my phone can die at 95% (and same as op, become 1% and then jump up to 100% quickly). It used to do that only when I do intensive tasks like Chrome and camera, but now it just do that for no reason. Thought it was a software thing so I was excited to get back onto XDA after several years - but got very disappointed afterwards. Here in Sweden swapping a battery costs something like $88, which isn't quite worth it considering I'm prolonging a two-year-old phone's lifespan, so I'm giving up and probably heading for the Oneplus 2 instead. So long Sony...
