Hello all,
This thread is to discuss my application "Quickly Notification Shortcuts" or simply named "Quickly".
Quickly is a simple app that creates an ongoing notification in your notification drawer filled with up to 12 shortcuts to an application launcher, direct dial to a contact, direct messaging to a contact, direct call to a contact, a shortcut to a URL, or applications that you can configure.
Once the notification is created, expand the notification to see the shortcuts.
The nice thing about Quickly is that it never runs in the background, and the only system resource it uses is about 800kb for it's notification. It's lightweight and efficient.

Thanks man. Works great and never runs in background at all as said by you already . Feature requests here:
1. Ability to reorder the apps pinned in Quickly Settings by long click and dragging in Quickly Settings (or whatever method you choose).
2. Ability to choose the number of rows and columns and thus automatically also the number of pinned apps (This may be already on your list?)
3. Ability to show/hide the app name beneath the icon (sometimes I forget what app is it by seeing the icon only as it currently has no names beneath the icon )

Beautiful and simple.
Like owais40 already said, it would be nice to be able to reorder existing shortcuts. It's not a deal-breaker, though, already fine as it currently is.
This will definitely stay on my phone for testing.
Signatures are overrated. Sent from a Nexus with Tapatalk.

Bug Report here:
Custom icons set on apps do not stick after reboot. I checked it for Opera Mobile and ES File Explorer.

i'm not able to open the app. always getting a fc if i try. using xprivacy with xposed installer, but no restrictions are set by xprivacy. whats my mistake?

Don't know what had happened yesterday, but today the custom icons set did stick after reboot. Checked with same two apps as before. Icons were saved in sdcard>Quickly>icons in both the cases

...and what means 'caused by exposed bridge'? when i deinstall the exposed installer, it should work?

[Q] How to see app permissions and block privs selectively?

Hello! In view of the recent issues with apps sending sms to premium numbers I have decided to further reconsider the priviliges I grant to my apps. So I have to questions:
1. Is there any way (app or site like appbrain) that will allow me to check the permission status of all my installed apps (possibly with filters such as "show me apps that can cost me money or send personal data" and
2. Is there a way to partially block such permissions (e.g. block the apps attempt to get my fine gps location if I do not consider that necessary).
Any ideas?

"Permission Watchdog" will let you see the permissions, as far as I know, there is no way to change them.

1) android settings (applications) & market will show permissions for each app
2) if you have root you can use the app droidwall to white-/blacklist apps for internet access. other than that, not possible atm and i think it would be very hard and dirty to make a hack for it... in my humble opinion it's best to disable gps per default and only enable it if you really need it. blinds the big brother and is easier on the battery

Some simple mods to Zygote should make it easy to create a 'firewall' like app for permissions. Would be really really useful, maybe google will add something like this in a future Android themselves.
Has anyone here checked out the Permission Blocker App yet ?

At the moment, my app modifies the packages.xml, but changes won't do anything until the device rebooted.
I tried instantiating the PackageManagerService via Reflection, but after scanning /framework and /system/apps it crashes somewhere.

My Evo made me Swype this from the XDA App.
You can also check: aSpotCat on android market. Its free and it shows permissions.

How to remove Xperia small apps and manager

If the small apps (calculator, notes, recorder, timer) annoy you when you press the task button here's a quick easy way to solve it.
Firstly you need root.
To remove the full small apps bar simply un-install/delete "SmallAppManagerService.apk" or "com.sony.smallapp.managerservice" from "system/app"
To keep the app bar but remove individual items here is the list of app and package names to remove from "system/app"
SmallApp-Calculator = com.sony.smallapps.calc
SmallApp-Notes = com.sony.smallapps.notes
SmallApp-Recorder = com.sony.smallapps.recorder
SmallApp-Timer = com.sony.smallapps.timer

Wow, it took 6 months for this to resurface lol.
When i seen i had a post quote i never expected it to be this.
Hope you guys are doing good.:good:
I suspect for many of us the small apps are as uninteresting as a mouses fart. They don't disturb. I am not aware of them using any relevant system resources. But they don't do anything for me. And they don't replace the bigger "sibling" apps. If an app is important I'll put it as a shortcut on my screen anyway.
That space should be used to give access to some phone functions. It could be a display area for a battery graph, the connected wifi network, the first two lines of the last message (be it SMS, Whatsapp or else), or a few on/off toggles, a reboot button, ..... so many useful ideas. Or a or new function which engages a low power state (reduce screen brightness, wireless, and GSM power by half or so, in conjunction with timer for Stamina Mode.

[Q] VZW LG G2 KitKat official - Missing Notification Access?

I'm running the official KK ROM and am unable to locate "Notification Access" or the notification history that was supposedly added in 4.3. It's supposed to be under Settings > Security > Notifications, but there's no such thing on my device. This is supposed to replace the Accessibility Services system for apps wanting to better control notifications.
I have 5 apps listed under Accessibility Services: Greenify and Light Flow and then 3 related to my Pebble Steel- Pebble, Nav Me, and Music Boss.
All are turned off in Accessibility Services and appear to be working properly. Light Flow does not give me a warning that the notification system needs to be enabled.
Where do I toggle these notifications services?
Edit- This is what I'm talking about: http://tech.firstpost.com/news-anal...t-developers-access-notifications-101802.html

Hmm, you're right, it's not accessible through the settings menu. However, some launchers, (like Nova) can create an activity shortcut to that service/setting. Alternatively, there are apps available on the Play Store that can create activity shortcuts as well.

I know LightFlow does prompt for access/permission when you install/open it, and I would assume the other apps you mention probably do as well.

it's possible. I have some apps that take me to the old accessibility services page still. I didn't know there was a new notification access system when I would have enabled those settings. when I installed a new app it that required this, it took me to accessibility, but then said not to use accessibility in 4.3+ lol. I was confused until I discovered the new notification access, and even more confused when I couldn't find it's settings page.

I think you mean the quick settings background. All of the Xposed modules that I used to used for this on previous versions of Android don't seem to work anymore. You can just download an app from the Play Store though called Material Notification Shade and set your own custom background image under the "Others" category. I also recommend, under "Themes" setting the panel theme to "Oreo" and the notification theme to "Colored". It also looks pretty sharp if you check the box by "Use Google Sans Font". Some of the other tweaks are fun to play around with too. Then, when you're done, just switch it on at the top of the app to see the changes you've made.
Hope this helps!

The reason for the compatibility and Parsing is because that app is only compatible for (and I quote from this apps Play Store details)..
"For all Android 5.0+ devices"
I'm not sure what's available for you that's the same as this app since I don't use it.
There's plenty of CyanogenMod 11 Themes on the Play Store that should be able to do this as well but, I haven't used CM11 in a long time.
Good Luck!

How to deactivate bubbles notification on MIUI 12.5

I have finally got the last MIUI 12.5 update alongside Android 11. Everything was fine except the fact that I cannot remove the bubble notifications.

someone has fixed this?
Download activity launcher, search (with the search button) for notifications, then under the settings app entry, tap on notifications, it will open the settings page.
Xiaomi apparently forgot to enable the page in the settings. There are a couple more hidden settings as well, such as interpolated frames on videos and something with more vivid/hdr like recording of videos.

this is interesting: where can I check these video settings?
anyway I have managed to sort with the bubbles stuff: there is written "manage" under the bubble, so tiny that was impossible to spot. Anyway Xiaomi have to implement the settings because if some are hide then are useless

Just go through the settings app section, I don't remember which setting you need to open, plus I think it only works on the xiaomi video/gallery apps.

hold on, you are telling me to go to settings app section, but earlier you were mentioning to download activity launcher. Is this a third party app? I wouldn't install additional apps but, in case I have to, which app is? I cannot find on Play Store.
Whenever any notification comes, there is More option and.notifications from that app can be directly managed for future

I'm talking about activity launcher, go to the settings app section inside the activity launcher app and open all subsections one by one till you find it.
Here's the app.
ehi, anyway I think I sorted: there is a "manage" option under the bubble which is basically invisible but is there. once you click on that command you can remove bubbles and check other settings.
