[Q] Battery percentage error. - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all, i have a very strange problem with my HTC one.
First of all,it takes 3 hours to charge and , the main problem , the battery percentage is not true.
In fact, arrived at 100%, if I disconnect the cable and reconnect the percentage back to 99% by employing several minutes to return again to 100%.
Someone Can help me?
I'm using Android Revolution HD 10.3 with the lastest firmware (2.17) flashed via RUU.
Thanks in advance.

When the LED turns green, leave it for another 20-30 mins, then it's fully charged Immediately disconnecting the cable when it hits 100% will probably always show a drop in battery percentage after a bit of light use.

But when I disconnect it the charge it's 100%, only when I put back the cable it returns to 99.

When the charge light turns green and battery shows 100% the phone continues to charge for a while longer.
As told in the post above yours leave it for a bit longer.
At the end of the day it's not a big issue..... you're only talking 1%

Battery Bug

Hi all, i have a bug on my phone's battery. today i installed a Rom (Evervol RunnyCM) beacouse i think it can fix my problem. I Always used RUU realeased by HTC , but when i installed ICS from "System Update" on Settings menu, i have a bug on battery. I charge my phone all the night, and on morning i have green led, so i think my phone i charged. when i leave him from charge, after 2 minutes, it turns off, and when i restart my phone, i have 50% battery. Sometimes, when i get in charge my phone and i have around 10-20%, after 2 minutes of charge, i have 100% battery charged and green led. when i leave him from charge, it turns off, and i have about 5-10% of power remaing. What the f*** happens on my phone?

i have this bug, too !!!
Please help
This battery bug is a known problem for quite some time, it can have different behaviours from user to user but basically, when you restart your phone you lose around 10% of battery, but the battery power is still there, for example you can charge it to 100%, restart it a couple of time and feel the real power of 50% battery for 1 day
Me and anders tried to repair this but with not too much success, i could say the simptoms were aleviated but that's pretty much it, the battery driver seems to me to have been developed in an internship, has lot's of TODO and FIXME in the sources.
Hope this helps
so, i can't fix this? i go to buy a new battery...

funny charging

Hi!
I have this phone for one month and three weeks. I notice my phone battery usage seems to drop from 100% to 90% quite quickly, but slows down after that. Another thing, I plug my HTC charger and than plug it out, the battery increases by one percent magically. I plug it back in and than it drops by like 4% or 1%.
For example, I had my phone charged at 98%. I unplug the charger and it increases by 1%, so it is on 99% now. I plug the charger back into the phone and it drops to 95%. I did this again when it charges to 99%, same thing happened.
So can anyone help me out here?
Thank you
Estimating battery charge level is very hard, especially when there is also a current draw from it.
Leave it to charge for longer after it has gone green and stop worrying about it.
as BenPope wrote, leave it for a while with green light..
same happens to me...if i take it immediately once it hit 100%, I will drop to 97% in 5min
i have same problem when device is on while charging

Thank you for the response. I heard that once the led light goes green during charging, I should pull the plug straight away from the phone. Does this help to prevent battery from deteriorating quickly? I know that the phone's lithion battery prevent cases of overcharging, but can it still be subjected to killing the battery life faster. Thank you once again.
don't know about that just thought u could probably try let your battery drain completely and put it on charge after

The One wont let your phone overcharge, as you said, so theres no need to worry about leaving it plugged in.
As others said, eventhough your phone says 100% and the light goes green, this doesnt mean your phones actually topped off. Leave it in for 10 minutes after the light goes green and the quick drop from 100 to 90 that you mentioned will stop occuring. I can verify that this works.

I see. I left the phone charge for 20mins more and it fixed the rapid battery drain issue. Guess I should stop thinking too much about it.
Thank you.

Sony z1 charge stop at 5%.

Problem started yesterday, phone charge till 5% and than stop,it still says charging but its not.
try to get some battery apps to fix it and try a new cable...
Battery Fix
This is an issue with battery calibration (or so I assume).
What you will need to do is:
Leave the phone for at least 36 hours. Make sure that you keep the phone turned on for as long as possible.
Once you have left it for 36 hours, connect the charger and charge for a whole 10 hours.
Then, turn on the phone and it will possibly show that the battery is at 100%. If not, you need to install an app called CurrentWidget: Battery Monitor. It is available here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.manor.currentwidget
This app will tell you the voltage/current stored in the battery. If the mAh of the battery is 3000 mAh when left charging for 10 hours, then you will need to do this:
Fully charge the battery with the phone for 5 hours and when the phone is fully charged, unplug the charger and turn it off.
When your phone is off, plug it into the charger and let it charge to 100% again. The green LED light will indicate when this is done.
Next unplug the charger, turn on your phone and set the option to ensure that your screen doesn’t turn off, if you have this option. Then reconnect to the charger and wait for it to charge again to 100%.
Once loaded to 100%, unplug the charger again and do not load until the smartphone turns itself off after reaching a 0% battery level. Once off, fully charge it again and it should work properly. The screen setting can put back to normal again (meaning turn off after a certain amount of time).
Hope this helped!

Battery percentage

I do not understand why the percentage of the battery as soon as I turn on the phone after a full charge immediately indicates 98% and not 100%, even if the display shows off the full charge as soon as I remove the charger.
It's probably because your 100% battery level is nearing on 99% and every reboot, based on my experience, more often than not consumes 1%, maybe more, hence, 98% battery left.

I'd suggest varying how you charge the phone; 1) with the phone on 2) with the phone off
My (albeit anecdotal) experience is that when charged with the phone on, and left on the charger longer than when it says 100%, it's doing a 'trickle' charge, which then seems to charge it completely. Again, anecdotal, but it seems to me that after charging it numerous times with it on, then when I charge it turned off it seems to do a *full* charge.
ymmv
maybe I explained myself badly. in the evening I put the phone off and off. In the morning as soon as I accrue it, instead of marking 100%, it will score 98% .If it is when I unplug it from the charger and it is still off and it is 100% .
