Hi guys,
I've been for a while only on Nexus devices, so I'm a bit confused about HTC's system versions nomenclature.
I recently bought a wonderful black HTC One from Amazon UK (I live in Italy), and the phone came with 1.29.401.16. I already tried to search the web for info about following or previous system versions, but I see only different numbers that I don't understand (1.29.1540.17 and so on).
My question is: my phone is updated to the latest system version available (I already tried to search new system updates) and in general how can I read HTC's nomenclature for system versions?
Thank you.

Hello!I buyed HTC Dream G1 on ebay with installed Android 1.6 (DONUT) on it. I heard that now there are android versions 2.x and i need to have so versions to install most of apps. Please, write my some instructions what should i do to update my device. (1...,2...)I have seen a lots of modifications of roms in your forum but i don't understand nothing about this.
Also I should add : I live in eastern europe (bulgaria) /because i heard that there re some US roms or.../
p.s. i'm so nooby because i migrate from windows mobile phone 6.0 ))
There are many, many posts here on getting 'root' on your phone to allow updates to custom ROMs, though many are geared toward US or UK phones, so it would help to know what carrier your phone is from originally.
Another new user just asked a very similar question, and there are a few links you can check from that thread.
From what I've seen, if you don't have a US or UK phone, you'll probably want to search these forums for "G1 one click root", "exploid" or "goldcard".
And congratulations on your upgrade away from Windows Mobile.
Hi,
sorry if this has been posted elsewhere but couldn't find it.
with the announcement that the HTC One will be available with Stock Android.
I have a standard unlocked HTC One with HTC's rom (UK/GB version).
I would really like to replace with stock android to reduce the bloat.
I wondered if:
1. it was possible to update the firmware to the newly released stock Android
2. if anyone can point me to where a ROM would be
I am after strictly the released stock (and future updates) and not a modded version
many thanks in advance
With S-off anything is possible. If Google stock hardware is the same and just CID differences then it won't be too much work for us to flash to Google stock Rom.

Hi all,
yesterday got an Htc One (second hand).
Now the phone has a Custom Rom, and apparently has a Custom Recovery.
I've always liked the Sense 5 and now I want to go back to Stock.
Was thinking of doing a RUU but I'm confused for the origin of the phone itself,
seems like the Asian version since when I want to go to the Google page it redirects to the Chinese version.
I want to use the phone in Italy, and the custom rom's radios work just fine.
What RUU will I need?
You need to find out what HTC One variant you have. Can you open the back cover? If not, you either have the Taiwan version or the more compatible Hong Kong/SEA version. Check your CID to find out.

Im fairly new to the Sprint HTC ONE, but not new to HTC or XDA, etc.
Im a habitual crackflasher, and enjoy bouncing around builds, love nightlies, etc.
In the past, whenever I have rooted a phone, I have always tried to make sure I was on the latest radio (unless the community warned against it)
but I am having a hard time determining What the latest radio update is and how to get it alone (or how to get it then back to my build/Rom of choice)
What is the latest radio/baseband version, and if i'm not on it, how would I obtain it..
Like I said I've moved around probably 5 or 6 HTC phones, back into the WinMo days, and generally this is a sticky... but maybe the phone is so new there isn't any radio but the stock?

I had already did the OTA update before I rooted my phone so I should already have the latest baseband/firmware correct?
You are correct

Hey all!
I'm a new poster to the forums, but I've been lurking since 2010 with my Xperia X10 (rooted) as my first phone, moving onto the Acer Liquid MT (rooted, was a pain to do so however) and then to the HTC One.
I recently rooted my One. The issue I have at this moment however, is that now that the OTA for 4.3 including Sense 5 is available, I cannot install it, due to the rooted and unlocked BL on the phone. I do know how to relock the BL using fastboot, but I cannot find the appropriate RUU for the Rogers 4.1 ROM.
There are a few things I'm going to be asking for here, just out of curiousity.
First, does anyone have the Rogers RUU for the HTC One? I went onto the dev site, and unfortunately, there is no RUU file found
However, I did find the CRCs for both Rogers versions.
Secondly, lets say I just flash an International ROM onto my Canadian device, will I still be able to use the carrier I am with (Rogers).
Thirdly, if anyone knows of a Google Play Edition ROM for the One that has functional Zoe features, that'd probably solve all of my current minute post-rooting woes.
Much thanks!

This should be posted in Q&A since this is a question. Not the general section..
