[Q] MDM solution suggestion - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I am looking for a Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution to use on multiple Sony Xperia Z devices.
The functions I need mainly are:
- rebooting the device
- installing/uninstalling an app without any user input on the physical device
Ideally it would be cost effective.
Has anyone tried MDM options and found something that offers this ?
I've tried quite a few today, but there are so many options.
So far the closest match is SureMDM.
What do you recommend ?

[HELP/Q] Xperia's ROM and App Receivers

Hi, since I use Xperia's mobiles, no matter which one, I never been able to use apps like Autorun Manager or the Auto Start Manager tool in ROM Toolbox.
Instead of disabling an app totaly these tools allow to disable only certain receivers.
Something in Sony's ROM prevent apps from reading/finding these receivers. I emailed the two dev (JRummy and the guy from AndRS) but they didn't find a fix, although they are good dev (especially JRummy but he is rewritting his app so he have not lot of time).
I'm even thinking about giving a reward to the one who find a solution, but alone I can't afford more than says 10$ (anyone can contribute)...
If you're a dev and looking for a challenge...
Just stumbled across this myself. It was the number one reason I rooted, so I am pretty hacked off
After some more reading and testing, the following appears to work (Android Tuner):

Control Permissions

Hi guys, I've been looking into the security permissions that some apps require and I'm quite frankly bewildered why a simple torch app needs access to my phone calls numbers network emails etc etc etc - you get the picture
This issue is being discussed all over the internet with increasing concerns
So I know the Experia Z needs to be rooted to make use of any effective app that can do this sort of thing
so I want to know if anyone has actually tried any of them on a rooted phone and which one is recommended to use and works on the EZ
I looked at "Permissions Denied" but have no information that it works effectively on the EZ
Thx in advance

[Q] Few questions about xperia SP and their usage.

Hi,
I have been exploring my Xperia SP phone and have a few queries about some of it's functionality....
1. I am finding it a bit irritating to press on the power button again and again to wake up the screen and then to unlock... is there any alternative to skip the power button and turn on the screen just by swiping or a gesture?
2. Is there a way to automatically turn off the phone and then restart at specific times for example at night.. to save battery? ( in non rooted phone)
3. Has anyone tried using Handwriting recognition function for taking handwritten notes ... does it work well with stylus( which company, model)? and which app is best for taking such notes? Can we speak and convert the voice into text saving them as notes automatically? and is this efficient way to do or just a function given in the phone?
4. Can XSP be used a TV remote control or wireless radio remote control for example automating home lighting etc?
5. what's ecompass? is it some app or just a reference to magnetometer in phone? -
6. Can we connect a usb keyboard for extended typing? or a wireless/bluetooth one? - any specific models that are good? what's the configuration we need to do to setup?
Any inputs and experiences would be appreciated.
Regards
Gs
1: Possible via kernel things (I think) this requires root and unlocked bootloader for custom kernel
2: No... Not that I know of
3: I havent test it but for me this function is useless on such small screen and yes there is an app for this (cant recall it)
4: No the Xperia SP has no infra red sensor
5: An eCompass is a tilt compensated electronic compass utilizing an accelerometer and a magnetometer (WikiPedia)
6: I havent tried this but this should be possible.. Any brand should do

1. I was interested since pressing power button that is on hardware too many numerous times can possibly break it.. just a guess and also it's more convenient to just swipe. I did find Auto screen ON and other apps on google store utilizing proximity senson but then they run in the background and possible drain battery by keeping the sensor ON.
2. I had phones in the past that did the same thing.. just set the off and on time and it will work.. I guess there would be app for that.. would try to find it out.
3. it is in fact very useful if it works correctly and precisely....for taking notes, to-do's , reminders..etc. would love to know more details about this.
4. how about using wifi as a radio transmitter? it has both 2.4/5ghz chips.
5. okay..but what's the use of such tilt compensated compass? wikipedia just gives the definition.
6. any recommendations for usb setup? I guess we need a seperate cable usb to mini usb? will any usb keyboard would work?
few answers I could find...
okay few answers I could find...
1. try tap tap on google store it worked for me.. there are others too in case that doesn't work...
autoscreen on and many others on play store.
2. It seems after some research that android doesn't currently supports complete auto shutdown without rooting.. so the next best option is to enable airplane mode...
powerschedule on google play
there are others apps too in play store that serve the same purpose.
3. papyrus, freenote app and others but haven't use this functionality with stylus to confirm.
5. google maps seem to use ecompass for right orientation.
6. many others have successfully connected usb keyboards it seems ..search on google gives

Can I Safely Disable IPSec Service?

I'm still seeing Android System using the lion's share of my battery life and I've started looking at the services running within it. The IPSec service is always near the top of the Android System pile and I was wondering if it's safe to disable it.
Some light Googling is turning up the service is related to VPN networking but there's not much more available (at least at an entry level of understanding). This link provides a decent understanding. I don't use remote access or corporate VPNs. My only real question is if I disable it using the App manager, are there routine functions that might be disabled? Should I be weary about Samsung Pay?
Thanks!
Finaly have you find a solution ? i'm reseaching on google and i can't find how disable ipsec on android , if you have know how do this , please let me know
Root your phone to enable super user abilities, and search for ipsec in rom manager, then disable it.
Realizing Im going back in time.. Or if you have a device like the Samsung S6 Active, an AT&T branded, close to perfect device which I have yet to find a way to Unlock the bootloader and root ..? Try AdHell-2. The link(s) are here at XDA. You must... 1.) Create a Samsung Account, 2.) Apply for a Developers Account SEAP, 3.) Request a License Key, 4.) Toggle On Unknown Sources in Settings/Lockscreen & Security/Unknown Sources, 5.) Install the AdHell-2 .apk, 6.) Then Activate the App by Copying your License Key. * This is a great App which not only serves as a highly-efficient Ad Block, but also allows for the Disabling of System and User Apps. Anyone reading this know of a way to root the S6 Active?

Using watch to toggle phone system function without root possible?

Hey guys I was looking around the store and only found a tasker for 3.63USD that seems to do this (althought it required another side app and it says on the description it might not work)
So I was wondering if you know of any app that can allow me to toggle specifically data mobile connection among other system function as bluetooth, wifi etc.
I used to use Macrodroid for this functions but since now I am required to root my phone for that and since I don't want to mess with a new nexus 5x I am stuck without finding a solution for this .
thanks in advance.
